baby leo was very used to hard surfaces and a lack of comfort and a lot of coldness, so donnie’s softshell provided baby leo a lil pillow of warmth and comfy and twin, even after he had other soft surfaces donnie was still what he knew was safe and cozy. we all know this but that still lasts to this day, becuase, donnie’s softshell still comforts leo and he doesn’t even realize why. like laying on it (because insomniac brothers) is like telling him, “you’re safe” and it brings him much peace and calmness.

and donnie also likes leo’s shell becasue pressure stim!! they lean on and lay on each other’s shells, its unspoken pure twin love and comfort and it’s like routine at this point. never a question they just comfort each other without even knowing

Me trying to wait to post the next chapter of my fanfiction on schedule (I literally can’t wait for people to read it but want to be consistent)

They both need sleep. I like to think Leo hangs out with Donnie in the later hours of the night to make sure his twin won't overwork himself but sometimes he ends up dozing off. Don lets him cause that way Leo at least gets some rest.
