If I'm not writing about space ships and cyborgs, I'm probably taking pictures of turkeys.
Sometimes I feel like this old gal Grumpy deserves her own fanfic.

âWe need to know beyond a shadow of a doubt who this officer is, what sheâs doing on Seraphis, and how the hell she's managed to evade discovery by the single most dangerous enemy the Federation has ever faced."

Three years after the attack on Section 31 Headquarters, Control has the Federation on the brink. When the USS Discovery begins receiving encrypted transmissions from someone claiming to be Starfleet who seems to know everything about their enemy, Captain Michael Burnham sees one last shot to turn the tide. But as Control's obsession with her deepens and the boundaries between ally and adversary begin to unravel, its objectives evolve into something far more dangerous--and lead Michael to question if she's still in control of her own game.

How about six of them...?
YOU!! YES, YOU!! GO WRITE THAT FANFIC YOU THINK NOBODY BUT YOU WILL READ!!

Seven swallowed tightly as she remembered the way the Captain had flinched when sheâd reached to tend to her head, and she wondered if it was for the same reasons Seven had so hurriedly pulled away. Did the Captain fear that hand in the way Seven did? Did she have nightmares of Seven losing control, of Seven reverting back to her most primal Borg instincts and seizing her individuality, possessing her and supplanting her will with Sevenâs own? It was simply unacceptable to touch anyone with her Borg hand without prior considerationâ especially Captain Janewayâand yet, she had done it. Like a mindless, licentious drone Seven of Nine had allowed the single most dangerous part of her to come in contact with the Captain without conscious intent.

After Captain Janeway contracts an illness during an expedition to an uninhabited planet and orders USS Voyager to leave her behind, a certain hardheaded Astrometrics officer isn't so keen on abandoning her Captain. As Janeway and Seven learn to navigate the strange new dynamic forming between them, it becomes apparent that the planet they now call home has a much deeper story to tell--one that seems to defy logic, reality, and even the natural order of time itself. ----- This is a standalone fic but can be read as additional worldbuilding to my "For the Optics" series. Timeline runs about a year prior to the events of "A Binding of Stars."
I donât know if anyone has ever done this before but, here ya go⌠The Different Types of Fanfiction!Â
I probably left a few out, but these are the most common, compared to their base fictionâs canon plot. Enjoy! XD
I am only 13 scenes from the end of my original fic and I can't believe it đĽ˛
...then comes trimming it down from where it should end up around 200k words to...much less than that đ
âJudith,â Lyris argued, stepping forward and taking one of her hands. She folded it between her own. Judith looked down at it for a moment, the distant memory of the sight from a time long ago reforming in her mind. Lyris ducked her head a bit until their eyes connected again. âWe have to keep this crew safe. We are their only chanceâdo you understand?â
âThis isnât about the crew.â
âYes it is,â Lyris insisted. âAnd itâs also about you.â
âI donât understand,â Judith pleaded.
âYou will,â the Commander replied, squeezing her hand. âI promise, you will. But I have to get them out. I have to get you out, Judith. No matter the cost.â
âIthaca is dying, Lyris,â Judith said weakly.
Lyrisâ grip on her hand became crushing. She raised her chin, her jaw jutting outward and tensing in the seconds before she spoke. The voltaic growl when she did sent a shiver through to Judithâs core.
âAnd Iâll make her rend every fleck of metal from my bones before I let her take you with her.â

Synopsis:
When Lieutenant Judith Quinn is jolted out of stasis by Commander Lyris to find their starship crippled and adrift, sheâs dragged into a nightmare unlike any sheâs ever known. But as they work to piece together what brought Ithaca to her knees and salvage what remains, Judith feels an unsettling shift in her Commander. The woman she once knewâonce lovedâis different, marked by the accident that drove them apart, burdened by the augmentations that keep her together, and driven by a desperation that feels frighteningly personal.
As the ship descends into ruin and old feelings transform into a lifeline, Judith must confront the disturbing realization that the real danger may lie not in the wreckage surrounding them, but in how much of herself she will abandon to reconnect with what matters the most.
My beta reader is being nosy.

HOMEWARD BOUND YAY!
14 hours to work on my fics on the train ^^
Coffee is a godsend.
Oh my god.
Too many humans. Too many dogs. Not enough birds.
Sometimes there are good days, and sometimes there are the "I just discovered this train car includes toilets in the private rooms" kind of good days.
Me explaining Voyager to my friends in a nutshell.
Only a few more hours until we meet again, oh mighty dining car â¤ď¸
PSA: If you struggle with anxiety, or social anxiety, or hate airplanes, the sleeper cars on Amtrak are seriously a lifesaver. Even coach is so much more low key and relaxing, with tons more space.
Daylight savings time is stupid.
That's all.

Seraphis, too, always seemed to work against her when she was there, like the vessel herself had a threshold of tolerance for sabotageâeven when it was intended to free her.

Can anyone recommend their favorite WLW Star Trek or Stargate fanfics I should download while I try to dissociate next week? I have seen Discovery, Voyager, Picard, and the new movies, but if it is well written I am happy to read from Star Trek series I haven't seen yet!
I primarily ship Janeway/Seven, already have Burnished Slate and Wild Horses, and all of the Just Between series.
Bonus points if it's slow burn with an action/adventure/mystery/psychological drama plot =D
Thank you â¤ď¸

Author's VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Next week's chapter may be delayed as I will be stuck in Chicago all week and pretending to like people. I promise you all, I would rather be writing.
BUT, I may have time to revise and post Chapter 11 on my 14 hour train rides there and back, so we shall see!

I will not start another Star Trek series until I am done writing my story and my fics because I can only handle one hyperfixation at a time and if I'm gonna be hyperfixated I'm at least gonna get a completed original fic out of it, dammit.
Why did you do this to her? Judith begged of the ship. Why now, after everything sheâs done for us? Ithaca remained still, more silent than sheâd ever been. The Commander's gaze met hers through the window, and Judithâs heart fractured. The possibility of Lyrisâ end, the idea that she might actually be mortal, was simply too devastating to comprehend. If even she could fall, what hope was there for the rest of them? âIâll come back for you,â Judith choked out, her voice barely a whisper. But even as she made her promise, even as she righted herself and took off for the nearest transporter, Judith wondered if there would even be anything left of the Commander, of the life that had always so fiercely refused to be extinguished, to come back to.
It will be a little different this year! We have decided to use the runner up prompts from previous years to create the prompt list for this year. Keep your eyes open, the prompt list will drop in the next few days!
I'm gonna need someone to invent a fast forward button to get me through this next week where I have to actually exist around humans AND pretend I'm happy about it.
The only good part is the sleeper room on the train đŠ
âHow long?â Judith asked, hugging her arms against her ribs. She shivered slightly, the chill of the open space seeping into her. âHow long untilâŚ?â The question ground to a halt, and no amount of will could force it into the air. How long until weâre gone? She could hear it in her mind. She could see it in the gaunt lines of her reflection. The bones of her cheeks and shoulders pushed out against her skin and the thin fabric of her undershirt, her brown eyes framed in dark crescentsâfault lines and shadows where there should have been rolling hills and light. Judith scrubbed a hand across her face, like she could wipe that terrible, broken reflection away. Beneath them, Ithaca creaked and trembled as if even the leviathan herself was afraid of what it meant to die. Rage boiled to the surface, at the great, suffering beast still clinging to her perverse, miserable excuse of a life and her demands she not die alone. How long until you finally let us go?
Conversations I've had with my bird in the last 24 hours:
"You cannot eat the power cable."
"I need my arrow key back, please."
"Please stop eating my desk."
"Is there a rule that says you MUST poop on my laptop screen?"
"You need to get down off the ceiling fan."
"I need my shift key back, please."
"Can you please teach your friend that he is capable of flying OUT of the bedroom instead of just flying into it and then screaming when we aren't with him?"
"Please stop serenading the dog."
"It looks like someone exploded a feather pillow in here."
"Please stop sending unintelligible messages to my friends, and I need my enter key back, please."
Ha. And in the process you become grateful your real life friends understand you're actually not a total whack job.
Writers are scary because weâll take personal trauma and think, "Hmm⌠what if this happened to my fictional characters but worse?"
Poor thing. It's traumatized.
