Yellowjackets truly has everything. it’s a love story. it’s a tragedy. it’s a 90s high school sitcom. it’s a survivalist show. it’s a supernatural drama. it’s an investigative mystery. it’s a story about the complex dynamics of female relationships. it’s a story about the horrors of being a teen girl. it’s a study of the lasting effects of ptsd. there’s cults. there’s biblical imagery and greek mythos references. there’s milfs. there’s murder. there’s horror. there’s comedy. there’s cannibalism as a metaphor for desire. it’s literally got everything.

No cause this like I’m happy that I think Byler is actually gonna be canon but the Duffers r still shitty ppl because queerbait was just one from a long list of problems and removing just that still leaves us with a long list of problems

I know I see a lot of people who have changed their minds drastically about volume two; however, even though byler may possibly canon, the way they treated their poc was still unacceptable and I hate seeing people worship the duffers again for their details or their writing. Lucas, Erica, and Argyle, still are stereotypes and were put in uncomfortable situations for poc viewers to watch such as Lucas and the Jason scene or the Erica and basketball player scene. I’m not saying that the ship that we all want to become canon is a bad focus but I’m saying we can’t ignore issues of the show now that everyone is relieved that Mike and Will could get together 

Ok listen I ship Steddie but the fact that it has SO many more followers than Byler and Ronance and Elmax? Idk it’s kind of weird to me. I might be wrong but I think the reason it’s the most popular queer ship is because it’s the easiest for straight girls to sexualize which is definitely NOT a valid reason to ship a couple. And I’m not saying that every straight girl that ships it is sexualizing it, but I have seen some very questionable posts. Also like I said previously, I do ship Steddie, but it’s really has no place in the Ronance tag. Like there’s been so many times when I’ve been trying to find cute Ronance posts and then there’s just a post about Steve and Eddie flirting or something that doesn’t even mention Robin or Nancy as individuals let alone together.

What hurts the most about the complete trashing of Byler is how we watched Will fall apart at every turn. We saw the excitement and love on Wills face as he was waiting for Mike at the airport with his painting that he spent days on, just to receive an awkward side hug, just to third wheel on Mike and El's date, just for his painting to end up being nothing more than a device to further Mike and El's dysfunctional relationship. We watched Will suffer all season and it was officially for nothing.

if you were going to tell me i would be in tears at the end of an eight-episode mockumentary on fucking freevee because not only did they manage to find one of the most genuine men on the planet earth to be part of their entirely-staged story, but because every single actor who got to know him longer than we did at the end said full-stop they’d fallen in love with him and were so happy to be his friend and had so much fun with him and because everyone acknowledged that he just went above and beyond time and time again every time he was faced with a moral or ethical dilemma and proved people ARE inherently good actually!!!
