The sun had dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow through the window of Yuji's small apartment. The air was thick with the scent of instant ramen, a staple in his diet, and the faint sound of laughter echoed from the living room where you sat, flipping through a magazine.

You were his brother's best friend, and over the years, you had become a constant presence in Yuji's life. Your playful banter and easy laughter made the long days of training and fighting curses a little more bearable. But tonight, there was an unspoken tension hanging in the air, something that had been building between you two for a while now.

Yuji walked into the room, his hair slightly damp from a recent shower, wearing a simple t-shirt and sweatpants. He looked effortlessly handsome, and your heart raced at the sight of him. Yuji leaned closer, his gaze intense. “I don’t want to lose you, but I can’t ignore how I feel anymore. I like you. A lot.”

Your heart soared at his confession, but the weight of reality crashed down on you. “What about my brother?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.

“He doesn’t have to know,” Yuji said, his eyes pleading. “I just want to be with you.”
