To mod of Baskerville
Is there anything that you are itching to write about or get an ask for?
To anon my beloved,
I am itching to write about just. Anything. I love writing stuff and I love answering questions, I love talking about random headcanons I have. If you have a question for even the most random of characters, it's entirely possible I have an entire backstory for them.
I particularly love exploring relationships we didn't get to see much of in canon, like Susato and Kazuma, Kazuma and Iris, the original exchange trio, etc. I love the original exchange trio and their weird group of friends so so much.
With excitement, Mod of the Baskervilles
I have a question for Knife Juror. You're my favourite Juror, but how do you get away with possessing a knife in court? And what is your profession? Trace.
Trace,
I'll have you know that I'm an absolute professional. The knife is just a sign of the work I do, eh? I'm a barber by trade, Aiden is my name, and they said they couldn't find anyone else, so they let me. If they had a problem with me knife, then they should've had a problem with that girl's weird smoke gun.
And... thank you. For the favorite thing. I appreciate that.
Signed, Aiden Richmond (knife juror)
To Seishiro Jigoku
Why?
Ten years ago, during that travesty of a trial against your close friend Genshin, you stepped up to the witness stand to defend him. You even destroyed said stand in your fury.
A few days later, when commanded by Stronghart, **you chose to put a bullet to your friend's heart**. You had a choice, and yet you chose to betray that friend you had tried to defend with all your might.
...
...
*Why?*
To my anonymous writer,
I don't think that it is possible to explain the kind of duress I was under on that fateful night. I fully believed in Genshin's innocence. He was my best friend. I would not have destroyed court property if I had not believed that I was correct.
When you are given an order by someone who terrifies and awes you in equal amounts, who holds their fate in your hands, who is urging, demanding that you do something drastic for the fate of yourself and your friends, what do you do? If I had not shot Genshin, I think Stronghart would have shot him instead. I do not believe there was any chance he would have made it out of that cemetery alive.
I was foolish, selfish, reckless, and manipulated. I was too much of a coward to stand up to this order, the time pressure and possibility of Yuujin being caught in the crosshairs... I can never forgive myself for what I did. I hope nobody can forgive me. I deserve every torture in the world.
But nothing I ever do can bring him back.

Inquiry towards the members of the van zeiks household
We are writing to you in regards to rumors of items contained within the van zeiks manor. We would like to know the validity of the claim that you are in possession of one “dragon skeleton”. If authentic, that would be one of the most monumental discoveries in the history of our great country. While many members have their doubts, it was not that long ago that we discovered that the once mythical okapi was indeed a a living breathing beast. We a truly living in an age of discovery. In addition, we have also been informed of the possible possession of many exotic specimens, both living and preserved. Access to such a collection would be instrumental in helping our organization in our scientific endeavors.
We are eagerly awaiting any further information you wish to provide.
-Zoological Society of London
With regards to the Zoological Society of London,
I understand that this may be quite disappointing, but it must be said that I cannot believe in the possibility of dragons. While I do not study science as much as some of my acquaintances, I believe I understand enough to know that such a creature would not be able to lift its body off of the ground. With that out of the way, I do know what specimen you are speaking of.
The late Lord and Lady van Zieks, my mother and father, were braggarts, to put it bluntly. I do not know precisely where they sourced their bones, though I do believe it was from Africa. I do not know if they themselves put this skeleton together in such a state or if they were tricked into buying it, but, that being said... It's not a dragon skeleton. My best guess would be a large animal such as a giraffe, a hippopotamus, or an elephant.
There are many things that my late parents decorated our homes with, things that I am not very attached to. That being said, I highly doubt any of these things would be of much interest to such a group of scientists. They had owned an exotic snake, cheetah, baboon, and possibly even more animals, though as such animals led to the death of my father, we did not keep these animals.
I am willing to answer any further inquiries on this subject.
Lord Barok van Zieks
Dear Benjamin, when you say Barok treats you well, what do you mean? He must be unfathomably rich.
Dear uniquartz,
It is hard to overstate how much happier I am with Barok at my side. He provides money for my experiments, takes me on regular walks around London, even brings me to fine dining restaurants with seemingly endless options for food. I can hardly believe how long the menus are. A few weeks ago, he bought me a pet canary, as he knows I adore birds! What a fine man.
He has measured me for new clothing, and I am pleased to announce that I now have some more proper suits. He also bought me new lab coats, goggles, gloves, tools, and various safety gear. He has given me a room of my own wherein I may conduct all of my experiments--even some of the rather explosive ones--provided I keep water within the room to put out any fires I may cause.
He also offered me my own bedroom, but I felt as though that would be imposing too much. I offered to sleep on the couch, but he asked if I would prefer to sleep in his bed instead. I couldn't say no to such an offer... his bed is very comfortable. And on occasion, he wraps an arm around me and pulls me close. I believe it's because he's so cold all the time...
Fondly, Benjamin Dobinbough
Unfortunately, I'm going to have to take a brief hiatus from answering questions. You're absolutely still free to send them in, in fact, I encourage that! But I probably won't get around to answering them for another week or so. Sorry for the trouble!
Signed, Mod of the Baskervilles
Dear Benjamin, I’m glad to hear that Barok is treating you well! I do hope you don’t mind my curiosity, but what do others think of your, uh, friendship with him? All the best, Ivy
Dearest Ivy,
Yes! Barok treats me incredibly well. I could never have imagined living in such luxury, he is the perfect gentleman. As for your question...
I am not entirely understanding why you are talking about our relationship in such a way. Why do you hesitate to call it a friendship? As for what others think of it, well... despite my love for my screwdrivers, it is hard for them to formulate an opinion that is not my own. I rarely speak to anyone else.
You have me worried now. Should I talk to someone? Who should I talk to? What should I say to them? What do I do? Do you think Enoch would know something about this? He seems intelligent...
Concerned, Benjamin Dobinbough
miss susato did you ship holmes & watson be honest (in case you don't know what "ship" means, it refers to thinking two characters would be appealing in a romantic relationship)
Dear ribbonroad,
I don't know that the two of us have met before, and knowing this, I find it rather unlikely that this information will get to... well... my father.
I find that it's quite easy to understand that their bond was a very strong one as it was written within the story, something nearly unbreakable and rather unexplainable. It is something shared simply between the two of them, and it was not hard to read into that relationship.
(It was particularly easy when I met Holmes-san and listened to how he discussed his partner.)
I hope this helps! Susato Mikotoba
to Benjamin- you sound very fond of Barok. What made you want to get back in contact with him after ten years?
Dear Uniquartz,
You are quite the astute observer! I am rather fond of Barok... The two of us were very close friends in our years at university. He is the closest friend I've ever had! One of the only friends I've ever had...
Oh, my... I can think of only three friends... well, that is to say, three human friends... that I have ever had. That is rather worrying. Perhaps I should get out more. (Not to mention one of those friends tried to ruin my dreams...)
That being said, I had missed him greatly. He invited me to visit him in his home and I could not turn down such an offer. I have struggled with money in the past, and he is helping me to save my pennies. As I said, he is a very, very kind man. I care deeply for him.
Best, Benjamin Dobinbough
Dear father,
I have a request for you.
Please destroy any case files that has something to do with Victoria Karma.
Henry
My son,
While I understand you may be hesitant to re-experience a difficult time in your life, I will not be a part of any sort of destruction of evidence. I am honestly surprised that you would ask me, of all people, to do something like the conspiracy our family was dragged into all those years ago.
I will not be complicit in this. All I can ask is that you talk to someone about the trouble you are in. Particularly your Uncle Sherlock, if you can manage it.
With care, Lord Barok van Zieks
To juror n3 AKA Magical Waluigi
I am a reporter from the independent newspaper The Daily Circus. While investigating Mr Enoch Drebber's past fraudulent exploits, an anonymous source from the man's vicinity has expressed that you were once present at the enineer's workshop and were presumably **a client of his**.
How do you respond to the allegations?
Mr Nos E. Prick
Dear Sir Prick,
Of course I was a client of his. You forget that, in addition to his scientific fraud, he was also a magician. He made science look like magic, but, more importantly, he made magic look like science. Even a great liar can still have his truths.
P.S. Who is this... Waluigi? Fellow?
An ask blog for the dgs/tgaa characters after the events of the games. Will contain spoilers! [Please check out the about, rules, and anons tabs before you send an ask!]
