Me, before watching Encanto: I am gonna draw Julia and Bruno SO MUCH.

Me, after watching Encanto: HE IS ACCIDENT PRONE AND SHE HEALS AND THEY PROBABLY MET EVERYDAY AND TALKED TO EACH OTHER AND SLOWLY FELL IN LOVE AND-

I love this gif. Look at Pepa’s pleased little wiggle as Félix does the finger thing.

I am absolutely in love with all the tiny details showing Bruno’s artsy/creative side.

We have:

The painted plate

The plays he writes

The little theater stage he made including painted sets/backdrops

Half a dozen framed drawings of his rats on his walls, including them bundled in blanket burritos, a Beatrix Potter-esque illustration of one next to a spool of thread, and costume concept art.

A little wooden house he made for the rats (visible in the third gif of this post)

It all makes me think of how art-related things may have been his true passion (or even special interest!) but he was still only seen as his gift, a distant and eerie seer even before he became known as a bad omen. I love the idea of post-movie him being able to show off this side of him more openly, similar to Isabela’s newfound creative freedom or Luisa having space to explore what makes her happy.
