Then they made him in the movies, and sure in the first movie he’s kinda pathetic, BUT IN THE FOLLOWING MOVIES HES LESS PATHETIC AND KINDA HOT??? LIKE STOP BRING BACK MY SAD LITTLE MAN.

And then in the live action(either going to suck or be ok) HE DOESNT LOOK PATHETIC AT ALL. HE LOOKS LIKE RTTE HICCUP WHO ISNT PATHETIC IN THE SLIGHTEST.

keep forgetting how much i love season 1 and 2 cass. like, she had her toxic moments, but that was okay because i believed she’d get character development. plus, she had those sweet moments like helping eugene even though she didn’t like him, and when she basically just wanted to spend time with rapunzel. i usually picture season 3 cass when i think of her, but i need to remember how great she was in the first two.

or you could be consumed by it to the extent that you map out 24 years of ford’s portal adventures, arrange those 24 years into 74 planned-out chapters of a fanfic, and get to work.

What are some of your favorite Hugo headcanons because I love seeing what people think of him

AH IT’S HAPPENING

-i love robotic arm hugo. i think it’s an absolutely fantastic concept. however, if that were the case, he’d either have to have lost his arm or been born without it. either way, i imagine donella had to do surgery both on his shoulder and his brain to attach it, which gives him phantom pains. varian’s noticed that hugo tends to use his human arm for things, but he didn’t put it together until he grabbed hugo’s metal wrist a bit too hard and saw him wince.

-he’s insecure about his singing voice and usually sings out of key to tick people off, but when he actually tries to sing— be it to calm someone down, or serenade varian— it sounds incredible.

-he has worn a dress to smuggle stolen objects in, multiple times. that made him begin to feel introspective before he Noped himself right out of that spiral. (i think he’s genderfluid/genderqueer, but he’s usually okay with being called he/him when he knows it’s someone who would adjust the term if asked.)

-he does Not like bugs. bugs of any kind. even butterflies are pushing it.

-the absolute biggest sap, but all on the inside. varian loves in feelings and gestures, and he does great with words of affirmation, but hugo’s mind is like a poetry mill that never stops. if anyone was able to tell what yearning, dramatic thoughts he was thinking, they would never let him hear the end of it.

-he had a celebrity crush on the alchemist of old corona. and eight different conspiracy theories. this is a pretty common hc but i love it.

-attracted to varian’s “villain voice”. nuru judges him so hard for that.

-a huge love language of his is physical touch, but he’s trained himself out of it. fast forward a few years after the events of vat7k, and you will see hugo glomping onto his chosen people.

-horrible at art. he can draw blueprints and schematics, but he cannot draw people. he’s only managed to draw his robot mouse by thinking of her as various mechanical parts. he tried to draw himself once at eight and once at nineteen and both drawings look the same.

it’s so morbidly funny to me that eugene, the guy varian excitedly rambled at, the guy who knows how much this kid loves science and wants to change the world with it— eugene looks around at varian’s dusty, abandoned lab and goes “hmm. no, nothing seems off here. i’m not sensing any doom. this is surely just him being a messy teenager.”

I'm sorry but imagine being in the book accurate httyd universe. You and everyone else are experiencing terrible awful horrors and are on the verge of collapse and an entire war and. Everyone just has a stupid name. Armpit never came back from trying to catch a baby dragon and probably got violently torn apart and eaten alive. Dogsballs is shaking after he just witnessed two of his friends get driven off of the cliff they were forced to camp on after their tribe got burnt to the ground to escape slavery. Your friend Crying Bitchless the Gay had to watch his entire family get enslaved and his dragon companion, knowing if he tried to stop it he'll surely die or worse, go with them. just for clarification:

disliking parts of the way rapunzel’s character was handled in the show =/= disliking her.

movie!rapunzel means a lot to me personally, and i absolutely adore some aspects of her character in the show. i think she’s loving, creative, funny, intelligent, and she tries her best to help the people around her.

if i have a critique with her in the show, it’s because i believe that isn’t how she’d behave as someone who went through the events of the movie. or maybe i look at how she acts for one episode of the show, compare it to the foundation they’ve established in an earlier episode, and find that they contrast one another. my criticisms are for the inconsistent or out-of-character writing, not for rapunzel herself. i understand she has flaws; i just wish they were addressed properly and that she didn’t always have to be in the right.
