I think the thing that I've taken away from this panel is that it's okay if you don't like your work because there are people who will love it.
And I didn't take that away because there was any implication that Hugh or Mads disliked the work they did on Hannibal but because they so obviously loved it but even they couldn't remember all the details of the things they loved. Hugh wouldn't stop talking about S1EP2 Amuse-Bouche but he could not for the life of him remember Eldon Stammets' name, and Mads and Hugh had to be reminded of Donald Sutcliffe's name.
And those details of the panel stood out to me because it's like wow I may forget about something I've written or recorded or drawn, but someone somewhere out there, even if it's just one person, probably loved what I made even more than I did and they might've committed parts of my work to memory that I've completely forgotten about or thought were insignificant.
I guess the panel just reminded me how thankful I am for fandom spaces and the fannibal community and just generally people who are kind and uplifting and share what they love with each other.
I don’t know if anyone has ever done this before but, here ya go… The Different Types of Fanfiction!
I probably left a few out, but these are the most common, compared to their base fiction’s canon plot. Enjoy! XD
Sometimes I just kinda wanna cry because in the MCU, Steven Grant Rogers:
Was violently bullied throughout his childhood and into adulthood.
Watched his mother waste away and die.
Was an orphan by his mid-to-late teens.
Grew up in poverty, during the Great Depression, as the child of immigrants .
Grew up color-blind, partially-deaf, malnourished/stunted, and chronically-ill, in a culture that was so big on eugenics that Nazis took their cues from the US systems.
Signed up for the army and then dove on what he believed to be a live grenade because he believed the best use of his life was to exchange it for the lives of others.
Fought on the front lines of the bloodiest and most horrific war in human history, where he undoubtedly witnessed terrible violence and atrocities.
Watched his best friend die and lived with the guilt of believing he was responsible.
Crashed a plane into the ocean, fully believing he was going to die.
Was frozen alive.
Woke up to find that nearly everyone he’d ever known was dead and gone, and his home was changed nearly beyond recognition; he could never truly go home from the war. Ever.
Lost his shot at happiness with the one woman who ever actually looked at him when he was small and frail, and had to watch her mind come apart, and later carry her coffin.
Found out his sacrifice – the thing he gave up his life, his friends, his whole world for – was in vain, and that HYDRA had corrupted the legacy of the people he loved.
Found out his best friend survived, and that he’d abandoned him to a fate worse than death, and got to then live with THAT fresh guilt.
Is seen by most people as Captain America; almost no one sees Steve Rogers.
Was only 26 years old, biologically, during the Battle of New York.
Has not had the time or resources to cope with any of this.
criminal profiling is just astrology for cops
Steve dealing with casualties vs. Tony dealing with casualties
"Perhaps they were right putting love into books. Perhaps it could not live anywhere else."
― William Faulkner
I hope Hiruzen and Danzo are burning in some darkest corners of hell for doing this to him.
He looks so, so tired here. Let me repeat what I've said hundreds of times before — HE WAS JUST A CHILD.
Also an F you to Kishimoto because how dare you.
here's the thing about the fucking tariffs. besides Unfairly Punishing Our FUCKING ALLIES YOU MORON- okay okay. anyway. the other thing
the other thing is that we have no manufacturing here
most of the fabric I buy to make my clothes is made overseas. I would actually love to buy wool from a local, unionized woolen mill! I'd be pleased as punch to do that! it's better for the environment and creates good local jobs that don't have a barrier of entry re: college degrees, which we need more of!
except we don't have any more fucking woolen mills because your billionaire ilk outsourced all of them to avoid union rules, OSHA, and paying minimum wage, when those things became commonplace and/or law. you orange fuckface
"buy American instead!!!" okay FROM FUCKING WHERE. we don't MAKE shit here anymore. and the few remaining local producers have been forced to charge exorbitant prices because they're competing with cheap unethical labor practices from big companies, so most people can't afford to buy local
god it's all so fucking stupid and I have to suffer for other people's idiocy that I actively tried to prevent
This is so fitting, I don't even like Nightcore and it's still going on repeat. Lily was such a bad friend.
I was re-listening to this song (I love the nightcore version) and it made me think! This is perfect for the Snape and Lily friendship break up!!! Or it would be if Snape realized how bad a friend 'saint' Lily was.
