if sam tried to get a normalcore job he would land in one of those everyone’s a family startups and things would actually probably go okay until they did their first friday “bonding event” and went to the nearest axe-throwing bar and despite having already drunk like seven beers which is making all of his coworkers start calculating bmi to blood alcohol ratios and coming to the conclusion that this guy can drink sam manages to hit a bullseye with every one of his axes and even break the target a little from the force of his throwing. when asked how he was possibly able to do that he absolutely fumbles the bag and laughs out “just got good at chopping off heads, you know?” which makes everyone think maybe that WASN’T a joke and it’s only because his coworker ethan hit “reply all” on an email talking about how one of the ladies in HR is pretty sure this guy’s real name is sam winchester and he’s wanted for pretty much everything that sam doesn’t show up to work on monday where an FBI team is hanging around his cubicle. once he’s moved to a new state he leaves them a one star review on glassdoor

You felt human emotions about it? “I’m about to be so annoying” — you’re going to talk about art? You’re going to be passionate? You’re going to think deeply about it? You’re going to feel love for the work of someone’s soul? You are not a consumer and art is not a product to be casually used! You are a human and stories are the beating heart of our humanity! You must feel everything and you must know that it is normal!

i laugh about it but also!!! the moment in eeaao where alpha wong tells evelyn that she's living her worst life is just!!! IT'S JUST SO!!! HMM!!! makes me think. because like. that's the thing right. their life is actually kind of shitty yk? her business is not a success, they're literally buried under the pile of their failed ambitions. everything very objectively sucks!!! and it's like that's. someone's worst fear. i know it's mine. that you'll blink and it'll be 25 years years and you're barely holding it together. career, husband, kid — every. thing is a mess..and you're just. making it all worse against your own better judgement because you're so overwhelmed with a kind of grief and loneliness and sorrow and goddddd like. like. that's terrifying. the prospect of that life is so terrifying. and EEAAO looked at this woman and it said. yeah. you know what. it sucks. you actually did fail spectacularly at everything. but you're here. and you can decide to embrace this reality. and put googly eyes on your laundry bags and hug your daughter anyway. because life is unpredictable, and you did what you could, but the point of it all is to steal what little love and joy you can from it. and it's just. okay. I'm emotional about that i am..
