Just a little bit of angst why not

Hi! Was wondering if it’s okay to ask what your coloring process work (you know from start to finish)? Also your art has this soft sort of glow that’s really pretty and I’d love to know how you do that? You don’t have to do it if you’re busy hope you have a good day❤️

Truth be told, I don’t really have a fixed coloring process as I’ll often experiment and most of the time just roll with whatever I need at the moment (trying to follow a process is just counter-productive to me), but I do have some sort of base:

Mine: Standard Art Process • Lineless Art Process • Picking Colors • My Brushes • Lineart Pencil • Blending/Watercolor

The Ochako gif is your friend about how I do my coloring, but just in case the most important thing is I never use a flat tone, no matter how subtle the color blending/gradient is:

I really don’t know what is the “soft glowing” tbh ^^’ could be visual result of the color blending, a luminosity layer, a screen layer or just some very soft touch of a light color over the final piece.

Rec posts: Bri’s explanation on picking Colors • Basic Glow Effect SAI < not so complete, but covers the basic of the luminosity layer, I’ll add that you can use a hard light layer (use any rough/strong brush for the highlights) under the blurred one (any soft brush or blur tool over a hard brush works, just mind the pressure/intensity)

Fun Resource: Paletton! - To clarify, I don’t use it, but I think it could help your eyes get the idea of which colors could go well together, plus it’s fun to mess around and fall in love with some palettes.

I finally came up with a kiribaku print that I can now sell at Otakuthon lol. Just took about 2 months to do so. I really like this piece and I think it has a lot to do with the cartoony and simple colouring job I think in the future I’ll go back to this style- it’s really fun 😊

Season 5 of Voltron was so amazing!! All the character development, the Holts family reuinion, BEST BOY LANCE!!!, the Allura and Lotor relationship development, the low key PUNK moment, #clone shiro confirmed, and finally Krolia- aka mullets mom.. just everything about this season was great and i really, really enjoy it so be prepared for a ton of Voltron art n the next little while lol

PS. Forgot to mention the best part- PALADUDES ( I was literally rolling on the ground I was laughing so hard)

Today I talked to a girl, a teenage girl old enough to drive and contribute to society with a job, who did not know what a house hippo is. She had no fucking clue.
