after watching several povs, there's something so striking about the way mumbo died.

he dies at home, first of all, which is notable in its own right because so much of his time was spent running about, usually in pursuit of kills. he dies with grian, too— to a thing grian created, no less, but it isn't actually grian's fault for once.

mumbo dies in that tall tower and when lightning strikes, from all across the server, everyone looks. their eyes land on that tower, and everyone is watching. even in grian's perspective, you can see everyone at renwood mound, lined up and staring. those at the bamlands looked on too.

they didn't see mumbo die, but they saw grian's grief. grian, who, throughout this season, has seemed cruel and untouchable to those outside of his circle due to his involvement with and knowledge of the wild cards. they watch grian immediately crumble under the weight of mumbo's death; several of them even explicitly comment, "look at grian, he's grieving, he's in mourning."

i like to that that, until that moment, grian was almost god-like in their minds; now, though, he's the quintessential concept of humanity. grief can be religious if you do it right, after all. even beyond the grian aspect though, isn't this just the most despairing omen of what's to come?

i mean, there's something about this image of a man fallen from grace, crying out as he holds the mangled corpse of his friend in the home they made together, high in the sky, on display for all the world to bear witness to. and the world did bear witness, be it with pity, horror, joy... it doesn't matter, because they saw.

the canary curse has been broken, but this was a fittingly foreboding, tone-setting image that did a stunning job filling its shoes

girls when they think about how c!emerald duo was the healthiest relationship on the dsmp because they complimented each other so well. c!techno with his grand gestures of affection to counter c!phil who may have not been great at expressing himself but was always there to ground techno. the fact they could disagree and that wouldn't tear them apart because the maturity was there. the way they both understood each other's trauma and supported the other.

I really appreciate the support I’ve been given for my work thus far, and I’m ok with people reposting my art to other sites (as long as you see my signiture somewhere on the image), I just ask that you please ask permission before doing so and of course always give proper credit. This is simply just to avoid giving me a heart attack when find my art somewhere I don’t remember putting it (but its also really important etiquette to follow with any other creator online as well - so please know to do this when interacting with anyone else’s work online too). Additionally, anyone is 100% allowed to make art based off my concepts/designs, still give credit as usual and I would literally beg you to @ me so I can see it. I’m also ok with my art being used for pfp’s, you don’t need to ask me permission for that so long as you include credit somewhere (but please do ask permission from any other artist until stated otherwise, its an important boundary for a lot of people!) I apologize for not stating that anywhere sooner, definitely should’ve done that. Thank you!

Anyways hi I’m Pedia, I mostly make comics but every now and then I crank out an impulse animatic that I made probably when I was supposed to be studying for a test because I lack any and all impulse control.
