~ Protective!Megumi who notices someone getting a little too close to you during a mission briefing. It’s subtle, really—just a lingering look, a too-friendly comment—but it makes something coil tightly in his chest.

~ Protective!Megumi who doesn’t say anything at first. He just steps closer to you, standing slightly in front of you, his arm brushing yours like a silent barrier. You glance up at him and catch the smallest crease between his brows.

~ Protective!Megumi who stays quiet during the whole exchange, eyes sharp, always watching. Not jealous—totally not jealous. If someone’s making you uncomfortable, even a little, he’s already two steps ahead, calculating what to do if it escalates.

~ Protective!Megumi who gently pulls you aside once you’re alone, voice low and controlled. “Was he bothering you?” he asks, eyes meeting yours with quiet concern. You shake your head, smiling a little at his intensity. “No, but… you noticed, huh?”

~ Protective!Megumi who just exhales, not angry—just focused. “I always notice.”

~ Protective!Megumi who walks with you the entire rest of the mission, always staying close, always aware. If danger shows itself, he’s in front of you before you can blink, his shikigami flaring to life like they were just waiting for a reason.

~ Protective!Megumi who doesn’t speak unless he has to during battle, but if you so much as stumble, he’s there in a flash—catching your arm, shielding you with his own body, eyes scanning for any threat before checking if you’re okay.

~ Protective!Megumi who, after everything, cups your face gently, his fingers a little rough but touch so, so careful. “You scared me for a second,” he murmurs, voice strained just slightly. “Don’t do that again.”

~ Protective!Megumi who doesn’t even realize how tightly he’s holding you until you shift and nuzzle against his shoulder, whispering, “I’m okay, Megumi. You’re always watching out for me.”

~ Protective!Megumi who presses his forehead to yours, eyes closing. “Always.”

megumi doesn’t like pda. he’s a private person, he likes to keep intimate things to himself.

that is until the two of you started dating.

you decided to keep your relationship a secret, wanting to move slow and spend quality time together, just the two of you, before everyone else knew and would inevitably tease you.

you’re at a restaurant, sitting next to megumi and occasionally bumping shoulders, but not too much that your friends and upperclassmen get suspicious.

you’re talking to nobara and maki about training and classes among other things when you feel megumi’s hand curl over yours on your lap from under the table.

you don’t react at first, just continuing your conversation.

then megumi slips his fingers under your palm, turning your hand over to lace his fingers with yours.

it’s a bold move for megumi fushiguro.

you smile, turning your head slightly to glance at your secret boyfriend and finding him listening to yuji ramble on as he and yuta listen half-heartedly.

megumi squeezes your hand.

you squeeze back.

Coffee addict!Megumi can’t stop coming back to the coffee shop near his college. He tells Yuuji and Nobara that it’s just because it’s so close and so convenient.

Of course, they know the real reason—it’s because you work there. The girl who graduated nearly two years ago, the one Megumi has been harboring a tiny crush on since the moment he first saw you on campus two and a half years ago. You were nineteen, almost twenty, while he had just turned eighteen at the time. But oh, he swears he’s so much older mentally—so much more mature than all the idiots in your class, he's practically your age.

So that’s why he returns to your coffee shop, every day at eight o’clock in the morning, silently hoping that you’ll finally notice him…But little did he know, you had already noticed him—you even thought about him almost every day and night.

Every night, your mind would drift, consumed by thoughts of his figure, his toned physique hidden beneath those baggy clothes, his spiky dark hair, beautiful eyelashes and his soft, irresistible lips.

In the night time, all alone in your apartment, your dominant hand would twitch by your side as you laid in bed, begging to move down to the place where you needed it to be.

poor lovestruck megumi — he had been running all over the city, trying to make this date perfect. he picked out flowers, little trinkets, your favorite snacks, and even a necklace as a gift.

to say he was overthinking would be the understatement of the century. he had no idea how to go about any of this, so he went to nobara a few days before to get her opinion and make sure everything was just right.

he had asked you out earlier that week. you’d been hanging out in your room one afternoon when the question suddenly slipped out of him.

“would you, uh, wanna go out with me?” he asked, nervousness practically flooding his brain and butterflies going wild in his stomach.

he’d had a crush on you since you transferred to jujutsu high, but he never worked up the courage to do anything about it. same lame excuse, like, “she’d never like me.” but, that ideology changed when he saw some guy from another school trying to flirt with you at an event. jealousy lit a fire under him — he had to make a move, and fast.

unfortunately, crushes and dating were unfamiliar territory for megumi. it wasn't something he had much experience with at all.

his childhood had been far from normal. having starting training way earlier than most, and when gojo took him in, he left most of his younger years behind. unable to live the life many were given. 

the price of everything he got you was no joke. he nearly choked when he saw the total. he wasn’t even sure if giving a gift on a first date was normal — he always thought that was for anniversaries or holidays. but he used gojo’s card, so… it didn’t really matter.

when it was finally time to pick you up, he showed up early, terrified of being even a second late. he stood outside the car with the gift in hand and his heart practically beating out of his chest.

some time had passed, building the anticipation. then you stepped out with nobara, all dressed up and ready to go. megumi’s jaw nearly hit the ground. you looked stunning—so beautiful it didn’t seem real. how had you somehow gotten even prettier since the last time he saw you?

when you reached the car, he handed you the gift and opened the passenger door for you.

“hi, pretty girl,” he said, wearing the softest, most genuine grin.

being returned with a look of love. “hi handsome.” 

turns out, the date was going to be just fine.
