When you're here for a private event during filming and get to go in the blocked off areas, it's even better. I wish I had brought sneakers, not wingtips I was wearing, but that's the dress code of the event. The a upper and lower Japanese Garden I found particularly nice, and there was an Oak tree on the way to the Italian Gardens that wandered and towered like something out of a Robert Frost novel. Go to Victoria, spend a day here. Breathe. Relax. After spending a day in Vancouver preparing for a conference on the tax changes next year old friends are found. Dinner at Cardero's, a walk on the waterfront, and drinks at too many places to count. We brake away from a crowd to go listen to a jazz band I heard earlier. Wouldn't you know, the only available table is front row, and the band is great.
