hi everyone!! id like to bring your attention to this group of queer refugees located in a camp in Gorom, South Sudan.
i came in contact with Goret, one of the lesbians from the camp, and she told me about how terrible their situation at the moment is.
if short, they lack funds for meals, poor medication/shelter conditions/beddings.
they also face physical threats due to homophobia and some of the members already have been severely injured because of the attacks.
their campaign is getting barely any traction, so id love if you guys could share, donate, and talk about it. lets help Goret and her fellow camp members to raise funds for survival! even small donations of $5 will mean a lot!
they're currently at $5 out of $4000 goal!
Goret's blog where you can see more photos of their current situation - @goret97
here is their gofundme page w/ protected donations!
it's like they say in dune: "i must not jeff. jeff is the killer"
šāØ A Voice from Gaza: Fighting for Hope ā¤ļøāš©¹
Hi, my name is Mosab , and Iām from Gaza. Life here has been harder than I could ever imagine, but today Iām sharing my story with hope in my heart, because your kindness has already given us so much strength.
This journey hasnāt been easy. The war has taken 25 family members from usā25 beautiful souls we loved deeply. Their laughter, their presence, their love⦠all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.
Our Journey So Far
When I first reached out, I couldnāt have imagined weād make it this far. Your support has been a light in these difficult times, and we are so deeply grateful for every single contribution.
But the road ahead is still challenging. Every day, weāre reminded of how much weāve lost and how much we still need to rebuild.
Hereās what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:
š Safety: The uncertainty of tomorrow weighs heavily on us.
š¢ Loss: The absence of the 25 family members weāve lost is a pain we carry every moment.
š Dreams on Hold: The future feels so far away when survival takes all our strength.
How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:
$5 may seem small, but for us, itās a little relief, a moment of comfort, and a reminder that kindness still exists. ā¤ļø
Canāt donate? Reblog this post to help us reach someone who can. Every share matters more than you know.
Why Your Support Matters Your kindness isnāt just about helping us meet our goalāitās about reminding us that weāre not alone in this fight. Itās about hope. Itās about survival. And itās about giving my family a chance to rebuild our lives, even in the face of unimaginable loss.
Thank you for helping us get this far. Your generosity and compassion have already brought us closer to a better tomorrow, and for that, Iām endlessly grateful.
With all my love and gratitude,
Mosab and Family ā¤ļø
UNFINISHED!!! J:
will not be finishing tjus honestly erm...
Hello, I am etaf, a Palestinian living now in Egypt with my family after we managed to escape from Gaza when all our property was destroyed, and we returned from scratch in this life. When we escaped to Egypt, we did not think of anything other than feeling safe from the fear we were facing in Gaza, but unfortunately I did not expect that life would become this difficult, after we left with nothing, no home, no money, no clothes, no family, we are facing something beyond human imagination. When I ask for help, I cry a lot because we are not used to that. We used to live in beautiful palaces, have a job, and a beautiful life, and now we have become nothing!š
Our source of income was destroyed and the new merchandise was burned. š
We are now facing daily challenges to surviveāthings that most people take for granted, š Lost Stability: The war has left us without work or a stable source of income. š Basic Needs: Food and Children's needs, rent, education, and other basic living requirements. are becoming harder to afford with rising prices .
š Dreams on Hold: Loss of family and loved ones Like so many here, my familyās dreams have been replaced by the need to simply survive. š¢
Iām sharing our story with the hope that someone out there might care. Even $5 can make a big difference for us, and if youāre unable to donate, just reblogging this post can help spread the word.Your kindness, no matter how small, is something weāll never forget.
Your support is not about changing our entire situationāitās about giving us a little relief, a little hope, and a way to keep going. We are not asking for much, and we understand if you canāt donate. Sharing our story is just as valuable to us as a donation.
Thank you for reading this far. It means the world to us to know that someone is listening. Your kindness gives us strength and helps us believe in a better tomorrow.
With all our gratitude, Etaf Al-Qataa and Family ā¤ļø
