I'm Cicada, and I like to yap about things :D mostly warrior cats, stranger things, and whatever I'm currently hyperfixated on. On my blog I'll probably post the occasional art, rant about warriors, delusionally hope for byler, and talk about anything that comes to mind ✨

"While You Were Dead"

This issue serves as a goodbye to our two most prominent deceased characters - the killer and the victim both. Two of my favorites to write (though not necessarily to draw; their designs are agonizingly complicated), and whose deaths both made huge splashes in the readerbase.

It still really charms me how popular Rainhaze ended up being, and I'm just glad everyone else liked him as much as I did. I got to explore a lot of interesting and complicated ideas within his character. Asphodelshine I sometimes wish I hadn't killed off, but only because it makes me miss her. Which I suppose is how I know I did a good job with it.

The title is taken from Cat Rambo's story "Tortoiseshell Cats Are Not Refundable": “He and Mindy would laugh about that together eventually. He wondered what that would be like, to be able to say, “While you were dead.”
