“Would you like some tea, papa?”

“Yeah—I mean,” he coughed into his fist before straightening up in the plastic seat that was far too small for a man his height, “yes, please, Princess Makomo.”

“Very well!” the little girl chirped, leaning over the table, plastic teapot in hand. Clumsily, she tilted the pot, pouring some water into her father’s plastic teacup, some of the ‘tea’ spilling out onto his hand.

“Papa,” Dabi turned to his right where his youngest daughter sat, tugging loosely at his shirt, “d-do you want some c-cookies?” she asked meekly, holding a large fake chocolate chip cookie in her small hand.

“Did you make it?” he asked, leaning forward to give it a sniff, prompting his youngest’s laughter. Smiling, she nodded excitedly, bringing it closer to his face. “Mmm, you always make such delicious cookies, Princess Kadae.”

“Papa! Your tea is getting cold!” Makomo chided, feigning indignance as she grabbed his hand. Directing his attention back to the eldest of your children, Dabi quickly sipped the water, hoping this time it had come from the kitchen tap instead of the toilet like it had the last time she made ‘tea’.

“It’s as fragrant as always, Princess—” he began, making sure to do his best ‘pompous rich man’ impression, only to be cut off by the feeling of a small body colliding into his. Giggling, the last of your three daughters slumped over his lap, her arms hanging above the ground as her toes barely brushed against the bedroom floor. “Sayaka, be careful,” Dabi said, clicking his tongue as he placed the teacup back on the table before scooping his second-oldest into his arms.

“Papa, guess what?” Sayaka wrapped her arms around his neck, staring up at her father with wide, sparkling eyes.

“You slayed the dragon?” Dabi said with a gasp, smiling when she nodded enthusiastically before nuzzling into his chest. “Wow, you’re so strong, Princess Sayaka.”

“Waaa, Oneesan, y-you’re so cool!” Kadae said breathlessly, inching forward so that she could get a closer look at her sister as if the secret to her bravery was written on her face. “I-I always get so scared… the dragon is so scary…” Dabi laid a hand on her head, ruffling her hair gently, unable to help himself from smiling when his youngest peered up at him with teary eyes.

Silly girl, he thought to himself, feeling his chest ache when the realisation hit him once again that he’d created her with you. By now he would’ve assumed he could accept that fact without a hint of surprise but his head just couldn’t wrap around the fact that someone like him could contribute to the creation of someone as gentle and sweet as his littlest girl.

“You’ll be able to defeat the dragon one day, Kadae,” he cooed, hand trailing down from the crown of her head to her cheek where he cupped her face. Smiling shakily, the girl sniffled softly before leaning into his touch, his hand large enough to almost cover half of her entire face.

“Papa, pay attention to me, too!” Makomo whined, climbing off her chair to run to his side before she draped herself over his knee. She frowned at him when he laughed at her straightforwardness, the rumbling of his chest causing Sayaka to writhe in his arm at the ticklish sensation.

Out of the corner of his eye, the ex-Villain noticed something—or someone—moving. As inconspicuously as he could, Dabi looked over and spotted you standing by the door, phone held up to your face, still wearing your dragon onesie. You seemed to have realised that your position was compromised so, giving your husband a cheeky wink, you disappeared, leaving behind only muffled footsteps.

“…and then, Mui-chan said that he—” he only realised Sayaka had been speaking when he directed his attention back to the girls. The other two were staring at their sister, eyes widened in concentration as they hung onto every word, completely engrossed in whatever story she had decided to share.

“Papa has to go do something,” Dabi said, placing Sayaka on her feet as he stood up, “play nice with each other, okay?”

Makomo nodded, already reaching out to pull Kadae into a side-hug as Sayaka raised her arms towards him, an expectant look on her face. Squatting down, he waited for her to kiss his cheek before he stood back up. She’d developed the habit of doing that ever since she saw you do it once, claiming that his burns would hurt less if she gave him more kisses like mummy did. It did.

“Thank you, Saya,” Dabi said, tousling her hair before he left the bedroom. The moment he stepped foot outside, the girls had returned to playing, already making a bit too much noise.

Entering the living room, your husband clicked his tongue loudly as he walked towards you. Placing your phone screen-down onto your chest, you grinned at Dabi, the hood of your dragon onesie covering a good portion of your forehead as you laid down on the couch, head propped up on the armrest.

“I wonder what Sayaka would say if I told her the dragon was being sneaky today,” he sighed, plopping down on top of you as he sprawled himself over your body. Grabbing your phone, Dabi typed in your password, the screen revealing the evidence of your crimes.

“She wouldn’t believe you,” you replied, wrapping your arms around his neck as you leaned forward to press your lips against the crown of his head. Your eyes looked over at the screen and you smiled when you realised he was watching the video you’d taken. “My dragon-death was pretty convincing.”

“Oh, really?” he mumbled, not taking his eyes off your phone. You closed your eyes, playing with the hair above the nape of your husband’s neck as he let the video continue playing. You listened to the faint sound of your children playing mixing together with that which was happening in real-time, just a few metres away in the other room. Occasionally, you would hear Dabi exhale quickly through his nose when a particularly endearing scene played.

“You’re a good father,” you muttered, keeping your eyes closed. The video stopped abruptly.

“You think so?” Dabi asked in a soft voice.

“I know so.”

“You have low expectations for fatherhood,” he teased and you snorted, eyes shooting open as you scoffed at him, lightly slapping his shoulder. “I’m kidding… kind of.”

You clicked your tongue but smiled anyway when Dabi directed his attention back to your phone as he played the video once more. Some time passed in which you spent daydreaming, your fingers still playing with his hair as he watched the video over and over again. The only thing that snapped you out of your thoughts was a sharp—

“Shit!” he cursed, burying his face into your chest as he let your phone fall to the ground, thumping faintly against the carpet.

“What? What’d you do?” you asked.

“I tried to send the video to myself…”

“And then?”

“I sent it to them.”

Before you could ask who he meant, you heard your phone vibrate continuously as message after message flooded your notifications.

i used tumblr back in 2020 bc i wanted to find a new platform to share my art but quickly abandond it and moved to twitter which was my first mistake and then tiktok which was my second mistake, i’ve now gotten rid of those accounts and feel much happier off them bc theyre so toxic and make me wanna rip my eyeballs out for seeing why racism isnt bad or why it’s okay for an 18 and a 13 year old to date, so back to the one platform left that wont hurt my brain more, I will hopefully draw more and post onto my page bc i wanna share my art again
