I think that introducing the word platonic into media really fucked people up because now people can’t tell the difference between something that’s platonic and something that can be read as platonic but is inherently romantic. Carmy and Syd aren’t platonic. They can be interpreted as platonic if that’s how you see it yourself, but they’re just not platonic.
