Does anybody have any good Sydcarmy childhood friends to lovers fic recommendations?
I think that introducing the word platonic into media really fucked people up because now people can’t tell the difference between something that’s platonic and something that can be read as platonic but is inherently romantic. Carmy and Syd aren’t platonic. They can be interpreted as platonic if that’s how you see it yourself, but they’re just not platonic. If your coworker/business partner is the one calming you down from an intense panic and you’re out here telling them that you couldn’t do this without them, that you wouldn’t even want to do it without them and that they make you better at this and not your girlfriend who you won’t even call your girlfriend then I hate to break to you that’s not platonic
I still don't get how ppl watch the panic attack scene and still don't get that sydcarmy is the endgame. LIKE IS MEDIA LITERACY DEAD. NO IT'S NOT EVEN MEDIA LITERARY! IT'S LITERALLY BASIC COMMON SENSE. BRO THINKS OF GIRLFRIEND TO CALM DOWN FROM PANIC ATTACK. IT DOESN'T WORK. THEN HE THINKS OF HIS FUCKING CO-WORKER AND SURPRISE SURPRISE! THE THOUGHT OF HER ACTUALLY HELPS HIM TO CALM DOWN?!?! LIKE HOW CAN YOU NOT PIECE THIS SHIT TGT? IK THIS SHOW TENDS TO BE SUBTLE WITH A LOT OF SHIT BUT WHAT THE WRITERS ARE TRYING TO CONVEY THROUGH THIS SCENE IS SO BLATANTLY OBVIOUS?? LIKE ARE YOU CHOOSING TO BE DUMB?? ARE YOU CHOOSING TO BE STUPID??
“And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good.” - John Steinbeck, East of Eden
Idk if this makes any sense, but to me it’s about Carmy letting go of needing to be perfect for everyone else and learning to simply be himself and the transformation of the beef to the bear being a representation of him letting go of the version of himself he created for everyone else (the beef) and becoming who he truly is (the bear), therefore letting go of the need to perfect and becoming good
saw this tweet and instantly thought of Carmy cause hes a little bitch(affectionate)
A scene in The Bear that never fails to fuck me up is the scene in the finale where Carmy gets locked in the fridge and Tina is talking to him and she’s being so gentle with him and calls him baby and then you remember how much she loved Mikey and how much she loves Carmy and how she’s probably even more protective over Carmy after what happened with Mikey and how she’s probably terrified of losing Carmy just like she did Mikey and she was there talking to Carmy while he was locked in the fridge and Donna couldn’t even step foot in to the building and and and an-
Listen, i just need to know why Sydney rejected Marcus the way she did in Omelette. ESPECIALLY after that incredibly intimate table scene and Carmy buying her a monogramed chef jacket. Like she has no reason to that we know of, we’ve already seen them hang out outside of work so we know they’re friends and they have a sweet friendship. So WHY did she react the way she did? why was it so awkward for her. UNLESS she only sees him as a friend and maybe she already has feelings for someone else, maybe someone like Car-*GUNSHOT*
More Sydcarmy because they have me in a chokehold
our beautiful life when it’s filled with shrieks by Christopher Citro // The love cook by Ron Padgett // Kitchen song-Tessa Violet // Sweet Nothing-Taylor Swift // lesdemonium tumblr // Everything leads to you by Nina Lacuor // Right in time-Lucinda Williams
Sydcarmy has fully ruined my brain because I’ll be listening to any song ever and suddenly it’s about them
Feeling like this mf everytime I talk about Sydcarmy
Seeing an absolute ass take on Supernatural/any of the characters from supernatural but wanting to be respectful because everyone has their own viewing experience only for them to follow it up with “I’ve never even seen the show”
Listen LISTEN I will not defend all of Carmy’s behavior this season but I will always defend him breaking down and crying after confronting David. Because imagine standing up to someone who made your life a living hell for several years, after you finally got the courage to do so and you tell them about how their behavior hurt you and how it still does and all they have to say is that they don’t give a fuck. Then you have every right to break down in a hallway.
