I would lay my life down for this Green Baby to have a good day

Okay that's so deep. It's like you love your parents and they know about it without need for you to tell them about how u feel about them.

“Platonic love is vital, essential, and perhaps the one thing left in this wretched landscape that could save us all for a little bit longer than we deserve. I love my friends even when I don’t tell them enough. I have crawled from the wreckage of enough heartbreak to know who will still be standing when I emerge and who won’t, and I hold those still standing close to me.”

Selamat tahun baru!

Jika hari ke depan kita ada di "bawah", ketahuilah; at your lowest, you realize a lot.

OTP: people will say we're in love

Why I ship it |Well, I explained most of my reasons in this post, but I’ll run through some of the basics and try not to ramble. (“Let me explain…no, there is too much. Let me sum up.”)

Hannibal and Clarice need each other. They both have holes to fill in their lives, and chortle all you want about Starling’s “Electra complex,” but you know what? She still needs him. She doesn’t need a FATHER, she just needs SOMEONE. Hannibal is her someone, and she is his - she is his Mischa, if you will.

Hannibal heals Clarice. She had this deep resentment that even she wasn’t willing to face in terms of her father and his death, and ultimately, he frees her from that. He opens new doors for her. I don’t think he changes her so much as helps her grow and learn - always good things.

Hannibal is one of the only men in Clarice’s life who does not simply WANT her. I’m sure he finds her quite beautiful, but he has bigger concerns than her physical appearance. He doesn’t lust after her in the way that Krendler does. He wants to get inside her head, and he likes what he finds there. He respects her.

Clarice chooses Hannibal. She dreamt about him, cried over him, found him impossible to forget, and finally, she proved she was a match for him - “Why isn’t there a place for her in you?” She had the freedom to walk away, but she stayed.

Hannibal and Clarice save each other’s lives, but Clarice is never a “damsel in distress”; she can kick ass, and Hannibal only steps in when he must. What’s more, she is also totally capable of saving HIM. Literally.

Also because…

“Good-bye, Clarice. Will you let me know if ever the lambs stop screaming?” "Yes. Yes. Yes, I’ll tell you.“ “Do you promise?” "Yes.“ She reached across the barrier and took it. For an instant the tip of her forefinger touched Dr. Lecter’s. The touch crackled in his eyes.

"People will say we’re in love.”

“Orion is above the horizon now…I expect you can see it too. Some of our stars are the same. Clarice.”

“You are a warrior, Clarice.”

“Did you ever wonder, Clarice, why the Philistines don’t understand you? It’s because you’re the answer to Samson’s riddle: You are the honey in the lion.”

Should time reverse and teacups come together, a place could be made for Mischa in the world. The worthiest place that Dr. Lecter knew: Starling’s place.

“Between iron and silver. I think that is appropriate for you.”

“If I saw you every day, forever, I’d remember this time.”

“Hannibal Lecter, did your mother feed you at her breast?” … “You won’t have to give up this one.”

And a thousand other quotes, but I don’t want to go overboard.

I hope this all makes sense and isn’t rambling. It’s not all of the reasons, but I don’t know if I can properly articulate them all. They might be better said in the post I linked above.

‘Starling had the psychology background- Mapp’s was law- yet it was Mapp who knew that the washing machine’s rhythm was like a great heartbeat and the rush of its waters was what the unborn hear- our last memory of peace’ -Thomas Harris, The Silence of the Lambs

Final post of the year! :) I’ve always loved the imagery of Starling using the laundry room as a safe space to sit and think. I posted this on my instagram too (same @) with some more details <3
