Like any abusive authority figure, they want you to be smart enough to uphold their authority but not smart enough to challenge their authority.

Palestinian men and boys in Gaza describe the torture, humiliation, and dehumanization that they suffered during their time as captives of the Israeli occupation forces. “They forced us to make dogs’ sounds,” one man tells the camera. “If you refused to do so, they would beat you.” Another tells the reporter, “When they saw us falling asleep, they would come with a lighter and burn our backs with it.”

“Every hour was like years,” the same man says. “The torture was unbelievable.” Reports have emerged in recent days of mass roundups, torture, and execution of men and boys in Beit Hanoun and other parts of north Gaza. Detainees were identified by loved ones and others in the community who recognized them from the photos the occupation forces have been releasing.

As more footage and testimony are released, the depth of the horrors inflicted upon our people in Gaza are being brought to light. While we may never know the full extent of those horrors, what we already know is enough for any person of conscience to be able to identify as war crimes that are as depraved as they are systematic.

“My message for the world is to look at those detainees,” the final detainee tells viewers. “We are respected people. We are not animals.”

I still see people defending the IOF's bombing of hospitals, schools, and homes in Palestine by saying, "there are tunnels underneath them that Hamas uses" or "Hamas uses the people as human shields," so I thought I'd try to share something with them.

This is the building in which Saleh al-Arouri, the founding commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas, was assassinated by Israeli forces on January 2, 2024, along with six (6) other Hamas members, adding up to seven (7) deaths.

Love them or hate them, that's not my point right now. My point is: look at the building.

Do you notice how it's still standing?

They targeted a single apartment flat, and the whole building is still standing. There are other apartment flats in the same building that look relatively untouched. The building next to it looks fine.

Additionally, only seven (7) people were killed in this strike, all of which were announced by Hamas as its members.

This is the kind of technology at the Israeli forces' disposal. And yet, when they bomb Palestinian schools and hospitals with the pretense of targeting Hamas soldiers, hundreds die and the entire building goes down, if not several others.

Maybe the IOF can be precise when they want to be.

But maybe, when it comes to Palestine, they don't want to be precise.

The continuous bombardment and the ongoing genocide pose a significant threat to their well-being. What pains me even more is that due to the lack of medications in Gaza, my Mom, who is a type 2 Diabetis patiant and was scheduled for an urgent eye surgery, have had no access to insulin or any medical care for the past 3 months. Some of my family members sought refuge in the southernmost part of Gaza (Rafah) in tents. However, my parents, and sisters have no alternative place to stay, forced to remain in the Nusierat refugee camp, which is now the subject of continuous severe bombardment since christmas started.” Am on my knees requesting for your donations. Gifted burnout and perfectionism

At first, I couldn’t relate to all the other people with gifted burnout when they talked about perfectionism. My academic perfectionism had died already...but then I started working and good freaking grief. It happened. I made my first mistake on the first day and almost cried. It was something so small that I couldn’t have known better because I’d never worked retail, but it messed me up. Then, I made  more mistakes and felt even worse. I might quit soon

Nobody ever tells you the uglier side of recovery. Especially when your mental illness is stacked on top of other issues than cannot be cured.

Take dental hygiene for example. Say you've been deeply depressed for years, to the point of not brushing your teeth. Add ADHD and autism to that, making it even harder.

After several years, I've entirely fucked my teeth. Now that it's just SLIGHTLY better, I could start working on dental hygiene... But what's the point? The damage is done. It's irreparable without major, expensive surgery, and at this point, I might as well get a whole new mouth.

I'm left wondering, "what the hell is the point?" And I start to regret the miniscule amount of progress I've made and the fact that I survived this long.
