Bodyguard (Kim x Leo)

yes, this is absolutely not the second day of December.... I have commitment issues, I'm sorry 😭 this definitely isn't my best work, but I wanted to let it out anyways, as I didn't have a really good idea in particular for this prompt

Dykecember day 2: bodyguard

When Crowstorm blew up overnight, all members were happy with their newfound success. 

Initially. 

However, they soon realized that fame is not without consequences: they had to change their daily routines, pay special attention to what they do in public, and deal with fans who were not familiar with the meaning of the word ‘privacy’. 

Castiel first considered it hilarious, then annoying. Then, he received (at his home!) a letter with a little vial for him to send back ‘a lock of his hair and a drop of his tear’ – the ingredients for some kind of love spell. This was the point when they decided that people will overstep their boundaries more and more often, so they need to protect themselves. 

Leo was the one to experience this kind of ‘love’ physically. She wanted to run some errands, when a group of teenagers suddenly appeared around her. They asked for selfies with her, and one boy wanted to put his arm on her waist, but ‘accidentally’ lowered it. 

Leo hired a bodyguard that afternoon.

"Sooo, this is it." 

Leo gestured around in her apartment, not really knowing what to add. The young woman standing in front of her (who insisted on simply being called ‘Kim’) started walking around, inspecting the doors, the windows, even the view of the street and neighbouring houses. 

“You’re taking this very seriously, I can see. Did you have to protect someone really important in the past?” 

“Oh, sure.” Kim stopped her examination to turn around, facing Leo. “I’ve worked for ministers, CEOs, and people whose title I can’t even tell you. Don’t worry, I will do my best to protect you. No one will die again under my watch.” 

“...again??” 

Leo was about to ask more, but she caught Kim’s smile while she turned back again. The rocker couldn’t help but laugh – despite Kim’s initial silence, she was starting to like her newfound bodyguard. 

“Well, that’s the least I expect. I can’t pay you if I’m dead. And hey, maybe you will even find me funny. Might motivate you to keep me alive.” 

“Oh, you need to work harder than that to make me laugh.”

It turned out, she didn’t need to work harder. Whenever it was just the two of them, in a private setting (which happened more and more often as time went on), they behaved like ages old friends. Leo was an endless source of adventurous and fascinating stories, while Kim kept Leo grounded and motivated in more ways than one. 

One day, Kim decided to check out the Instagram page of Leo. This is not something that she hasn’t done before, but she still liked to scroll there from time to time. Leo’s page (as all other members’ as well, of course) was filled with posts about their upcoming album. They worked on it for a really long time, and it was supposed to be released in two months. 

Among the sneak peaks of the album’s cover and (muted) recordings from their studio sessions, a different post caught Kim’s eye: Leo and an unknown woman kissing. 

Kim sat up straight. How did she not notice this before? 

It was posted not long after they first announced the album. It was probably part of the campaign for it, but Kim couldn’t help but feel a little sting in her chest. 

Was she jealous?

When she met Leo, a couple days later, Kim had already made up her mind. What she said on her first day was clearly a joke, but developing feelings for the one she’s supposed to protect could cause serious problems for them. 

When Leo opened her door, Kim didn’t hesitate. 

“This is the last time you see me as your bodyguard. I want to end my contract.” 

Leo didn’t answer at first. She was shocked. 

“Is everything alright?” 

“I-” Kim sighed, then shook her head. “I want to protect you, but I’ve realised that I have feelings for you that aren’t right. I will always be here for you if you need me, but I don’t think I should be your bodyguard anymore.” 

With that, she turned around, not giving Leo the chance to reply.

what fandom / character do you like to write for the most? My Candy Love, specifically Nathaniel. I also enjoyed writing ED headcanons, but I don't have a favourite character there. I mostly write my own stories, so....

how do you cope with writing blocks? I don't

how often your inbox is open? there were two occasions where I closed it, once when I had many requests, they just kept coming and I needed a little time to catch up. I don't even remember why I closed it the second time, but most likely something school related. my askbox is almost always open

what is the post you found the hardest to write? there isn't one exact writing that was hard for me, generally the ones with characters that I'm not really close to (Ezarel, Valkyon, Lysander)

what topics are the hardest for you? none ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ well, I mean. if you want me to write a let's say, plumber!Castiel AU, then it would be hard because I know literally nothing about plumbing, but I think I'd manage it with research and stuff if it's a sensitive theme, I might just refuse to write it (or to write it explicitly) because I can see it during online education that you can't just learn anything from the net, and I'd rather not write something than write it wrong

do you find it hard to say no to a request? I haven't said "no" to a request yet, so I have no idea 😅

what Tumblr writers do you like the most? okay, so. @marycecilyy is / was perfect, I'm really sad she won't write for MCL anymore, but I still stan her, I'm sure she's going to write masterpieces for SE as well. she's partly the reason why I joined Tumblr anyway, but shhh! don't tell her! joking, I reblogged this from her, lmao, I'm a dumbass I consider @vanillaamoursucrethings more an artist than a writer, since I've seen her draw more, but when she writes, damn! absolutely amazing! I wish I could describe things as perfectly as her, the way her writing "flows" is literally perfect my English vocabulary is not enough to express how much I love @idolcandy. amazing. showstopping. spectacular. I started reading for MCL here and on AO3 way before I joined Tumblr, and I realised afterwards that my favourite writings were from her. 9999 / 10. definitely would recommend

how long do the requests usually stay in your inbox? few days, maybe a week or two, but I don't think I've let an ask sit more than that

do you prefer to answer the requests or to write your own ideas? both! it's a bit more comfortable when the idea is mine, since I don't have this "what if they don't like it?" feeling in the pit of my stomach, but I really enjoy writing requests ^^ it makes me really happy when people "trust" me with bringing their idea to life

Living together with the HSL boys

It’s a really random something I thought about today, so why not

Armin:

it might be surprising at first, but Armin likes to wake up early

personally, I refuse that shitty job he has canonically, because it doesn’t sound anything at all like him. he has a job what he actually enjoys, but something he can do from home

when you arrive home, he sometimes surprises you with already finished lunch

but if not, you make it together tho the washing is yours

he still spends a lot of time with playing inside, so after a time you buy him a pet

he totally refuses to care for that pet, but if you’re careful enough you can see him cuddling it :)

going to an amusement park is a quite usual habit for the two you

Castiel:

chaotic days are average days, but that’s okay

you might be having breakfast when he stands up I have an idea!, grabs his guitar and plays something

he’s a little bit shy when he has the first ideas for a song, but still asks for your opinion and values it just as much as the other band members’

always be ready to walk Pancake, because sometimes he just can’t, he’s too tired to go out and possibly meet other people

he often lets you dye his hair, but if you ever braid it while he’s asleep, prepare to die tho he secretly likes it

he gets pretty embarassed if you play his songs, bonus you sing it too, bonus if you can’t sing

when he falls asleep, you could even tear down the whole house, he’d sleep anyway

Kentin:

Kentin likes to overlseep, but opening a pack of cookies can wake him up very fast

he likes to snack occasionally, but overall he eats healthily. he doesn’t follow any specific diet, but helps you with it if you do

he also works out every day, usually at Kim’s gym, but he burnt most of his camo clothes on a sacrificial bonfire already

sometimes you just lay out in your garden or in the park, even after it’s already dark

with him, expect a lot of random baking-marathons

you usually bake much more than you can eat, so you often invite over your friends

Lysander:

again, I refuse Lysander’s canon life after high school. I imagine him keeping the farm and often being there too, but in my mind he lives in the city and Leigh helps him with the farm

so when you’re at the farm he likes to change his Victorian style clothes and gives all in all cowboy vibes, and after a time he keeps it in other days too. normal days he wears jeans and a plaid shirt, but every time you go out somewhere (which is pretty often) he changes back to his very elegant clothes

and yes, you often eat out. not every day, but you often have dinner in a restaurant, even without a special occasion

after high school he doesn’t go to university, but joins the music industry as a singer / songwriter. he’d have a hard time deciding between having a solo carrier and being part of Crowstorm

after you’re done with work, he usually waits for you in the parking lot, maybe even go in when your shift is over with a bouquet a flowers

I think you have a flat, because having two houses with a garden to tend to would be too much. the flat would be relatively big tho

I also think that you have a piano as Lysander knows and likes to play on it. sometimes he’d sing too and his heart just dies if you join in

Nathaniel:

between the two of you, Nathaniel is the one who wakes up sooner

he doesn’t let you sleep in for long tho, especially if you have to go to work, but he’s not too harsh with waking you up. he even brings you breakfast to bed sometimes

when he goes to work, he still likes to be updated with small messages like I just burnt the whole kitchen down or something like that

but no, honestly, he likes receiving small messages from you during his day

because being a police inspector takes a lot of time, even when he’s home, you always use your time together to go somewhere

if you have any hobbies, expect him to join in or at least read after it a bit

he works out daily and he also tries to make you go with him. he accepts if you say no, but appreciates if you go and watch him regardless of you not working out

in the evenings, you watch your favourite show together or just a movie. if you sleep asleep in the during it, he carries you back to your bed, switches off the TV and slips next to you, careful not to wake you up

Candy’s P. O. V.

“Five minutes left until midnight!” a sharp voice interrupted the flow of my thoughts. I suddenly remembered where I was - in the Snake Room, with a bunch of friends - and reddened a little with embarrassment. They were looking at me, expecting something from me until I finally realised Rosalya had asked a question.

“Oh sorry, I didn’t pay attention, my mind was just wandering...”

Rosa waved one well-manicured hand as she lifted the other one to her mouth, taking a sip of cold-punch, then turned to Alexy. “Who’s next?”

“Well... it’s the starer’s turn! Candy, truth or dare?”

I glanced at the row of empty beers on the table in front of me. I already shared some experiences that I would have preferred to be unsaid, earning much laughter from my friends. I thought a bit, then downed the leftover of the open can before me and threw my shyness out the window.

“Dare.” I saw the Rosa’s face shine up with surprise, because no matter how many secrets and bad stories I had, dare was always more adventurous than truth, especially that it was the first for me that night.

Alexy took his sweet time to truly ponder it. He knew that I didn’t like too wild tasks, while I knew that he wouldn’t miss a chance like this to embarrass me a little more. His eyes glinted with excitement as he finally faced me, decided.

“I dare you to kiss the first person who enters that door” he said while pointing at the front-door next to our table, and I let out a sigh of relief. The Snake Room wasn’t spacious that night at all, but the crowd itself didn’t change much except for some people leaving to the restroom. We agreed that the others go on with the playing while I stand beside the door, waiting for someone to turn up.

Before midnight, when some people already started the countdown, someone entered. I didn’t have the time to have a good look at him, but I can clearly remember his green eyes, piercing through mine with surprise as I sealed my lips on his. The alcohol-tasted kiss didn’t last long, I only realised after it that he cupped my cheeks. Neither of us really wanted it to end, he was a pretty good kisser and I knew I wasn’t that bad either.

“Five… four…” I heard the chanting behind me. Muttering a low “sorry” I was ready to go back and join my friends who surely witnessed my scene, but the boy grabbed my hand. The voices got louder as the countdown reached zero, and I was kissing this stranger again, fully embracing each other this time.

And this, kids, is the story of how I met your father.
