You know what gets me though about Donnie in the movie considering he didnāt have his mystic guns from the get go? When they all get their powers taken, why didnāt Donnie grab his tech bÅ or any of the tech that he had been solely relying on for most of the series? Like dang maybe it wouldnāt have defeated the Kraang but I imagine it would have helped š.
I just find it a little wack that Donnie, who used to fight exclusively with his tech would just be equally nerfed and out of his element after getting his mysticism removed compared to his brothers that almost solely relied on mystic powers.
But, I assume the reason is that they didnāt want Donnie to be advantaged like compared to his brothers in the movie, plus, they wanted the movie to be accessible to non-fans and so maybe the series-exclusive tech bÅ would have confused them. Also, I know Donnies tech bÅ (and his other tech) broke during the Shredder attack so itās possible he never made a new one. I mean he didnāt remake Sheldon either as shown in the movie so Iām curious to what capacity he works on new tech at all after acquiring mystic powers.
In the movie, we see that he can materialize permanent objects, specifically battle shells, that are different to his temporary weapons, which glow a transparent purple compared to the solid objects.
So itās possible that after the series, he focused his efforts on advancing his mystic abilities to catch up with his brothers, causing him to have less time to build tech. This heightened mysticism plus limited time to make tech traditionally could have made him more inclined to just will tech into existence using his powers when the situation required it. If he had been making tech using his powers and never got the chance to rebuild his old stuff, itās possible he didnāt use traditional tech against the Kraang because he just didnāt have any available and couldnāt make more without his powers. Or at least this is what Iām gonna tell myself as a cope
Anyways I realize now that this is kind of detached from the original post, but I just keep thinking about how different the movie would be if Donnie just used his old tech.
or what actually would have happened:
