so i have this group, right, we play dnd every sunday and take turns dming. so our current campaign is going great, i have two characters on deck to choose from for our next one and then someone pipes up saying they have an idea for the next campaign. this campaign sounds bangin, no issue there.
however
this campaign involves a character they have sent me art of, a character they had said would get along great with my pc from their last campaign. so, here i am, looking at my elf warlock and my daemonfae warlock/bard, and coming to the realization they might just have to wait. oliver beckons me back.
for context, oliver is a skeleton bard with the noble background, he’s a cocky bastard with no regard for anyone but himself, he thinks he’s better than everyone and flirts with anyone, he’s super rich and thinks he’s more important than he really is, also he seduced the leader of the gang we were supposed to face off against at the end of the campaign and gave him his number. so yeah. guess my sexy skeleton is back.
well, i know what i’m doing from now on.
Use a Dreidel as a D4 to flex on the goyim
But...but we are goyim...
happy thanksgiving! remember that our forefathers and the leaders of our nation have been repeatedly awful to indigenous and first nations people! they deserve our support!
yes happy thanksgiving blah blah blah today would be a great day to donate to our indigenous and first nations communities, buy from indigenous and first nations businesses, and check out the #next150 challenge
been a while since i did one of these, so today i’m gonna talk about one of my old characters. he is a tiefling bard of the folk hero background.
before reaver set out adventuring, he was a woodworker. he grew up in the small town of braenar with his mother and younger sister (who i will talk more about later) and a few close friends. he made instruments, crafting his own lute, and gave performances in the local tavern from time to time. reaver was also quite good with children, sometimes being the only one to get particularly stubborn kids to sleep. he received a dream from a sorceress who had once passed through town, asking for his assistance, and so he set off for adventure.
his younger sister, yamaia, is a blacksmith, fierce and fiery in every sense. she loves to poke fun at her brother, but cares for him deeply. frequently, she wishes he wasn’t so soft as it opens him up to pain time and time again. but she knows she can’t change him, so she does her best to protect him when she can. she still lives in braenar, though she sometimes will travel elsewhere to deliver her goods.
this brings us to corrin.
corrin is a leatherworker and reaver’s childhood sweetheart. more than that, they were engaged before reaver decided to go adventuring. corrin wouldn’t come with him, though reaver asked him many times. they ended up splitting, rather bitterly, and reaver doesn’t think he could face corrin again. needless to say, yamaia doesn’t like him all that much.
after reaver left braenar, he met up with the sorceress, as well as the others she had called. he got a bit distracted by the festivities happening, perhaps more than a bit. to be fair, the other folks wandered off to play games and such, he just got pulled in to something else. well, someone else.
meet alice. she was meant to play at the festival, but her band got attacked on the way there. the other members fled and she was left on her own trying to gather other musicians to play with in a desperate attempt to make things work. she approached reaver and he, ever one to help, agreed. so they set out to find another, stumbling across an elven man with a drum.
he was not a musician, though he pretended to be one because he saw the opportunity for money. he introduced himself as yelboros, and of course reaver was smitten near instantly.
the performance was overall quite good, though yelboros was not particularly skilled. alice and reaver played beautifully together and the crowd loved them.
i don’t have much in the middle, but i do know reaver fell hard and fast for both of them because he’s an absolute puppy of a man. i like to think that they stayed in touch while reaver adventured for a while, growing ever closer. eventually, once he settles back down, i could see him going out with them. basically, i want him to settle down someday with his partners and live happily in a cottage or something somewhere.
i made some prom/camp vibe thingies!! feel free to share them with your friends <3
considering i just reblogged a post saying i talk about mythology, figure now might be a good time to talk some more about my campaign.
character of the day: parthenia.
she’s a devout worshiper of zeus, specifically of the epithet of zeus xenios. she runs a sort of boarding and bathhouse for travellers passing through called the golden oak. if you know zeus’ symbols, you’ll understand.
so far i have her described as the human embodiment of a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. i considered giving her a child with zeus, but she has far too much respect for hera to accept his advances.
normally i know this would not stop zeus. in this case, i don’t want it as part of my campaign.
so she’s favored by hera and is generally just a lovely person.
Now your turn to make Aphrodite! Here's the link!

yeah, midnight d&d post.
my tired brain decided now was a good time to mention that one of my shops for my new campaign is called the crow bar.
it is a bar.
for crows.
it is not a bar for people.
for people, it is basically like a repairs shop, but the lady who runs it also basically looks after a whole murder of crows.
also she’s cool and has a mechanical hand and is probably a lesbian.

my party found medusa, helped out perseus without killing her, and bought her an absolutely massive puppy.
perseus is happy because he found a work-around and is not dead. (when polydectes asked for the head of the gorgon he didn’t say it had to be detached.)
medusa is happy to have a companion and some cool new friends.
my players of course instantly asked for the dog’s name and i panicked and so now medusa has a very large and fluffy bear-like dog named chobani.
