I'm Trying To Prove A Point To My Brain: Reblog If You Think Fanfiction Does Not Need Sex To Be Good.

I'm trying to prove a point to my brain: Reblog if you think fanfiction does not need sex to be good.

There is a trend I’ve noticed that smut fics tend to be much more popular than anything else and honestly I just want to have something to look at to remind myself and that writing doesn’t have to have sex to be worth putting out into the community.

No thoughts, just marvel crossover AUs

Okay, I cannot stop thinking about a ‘How to train your dragon’ AU for Marvel.    Would Thor have a Thunderdrum or would he have a Skrill?    Loki with a Changewing perhaps? (Or maybe throw a Nightfury at him for the ‘misunderstood’ points?)    Hela might have a Wooly howl to replace Fenrir? or maybe a red death for the boss battle points?    I’m also fixated on the idea that Tony has a Sword-Stealer.

That and a Pokemon AU:    My immediate thought for that being Loki having a Suicune, Thor having a Raikou, and Hela having an Entei. On top of that, they each also have a legendary bird? Loki has Articuno, Thor has Zapdos, and Hela has Moltres?

it’s weird to think how many mental disorders are diagnosed less by what the person actually does and more by how others respond to that person. like how in hysterionic personality disorder (off to a great start) a literal diagnostic criteria is the person’s emotions don’t seem convincing, which is obviously going to depend hugely upon a doctor’s personal bias. and in bpd, though it isn’t a criteria, you hear about clinicians diagnosing people based on the “meat grinder sensation” (feeling like their own insides are being ground up while talking to their patient), and with autism based on the “wall of glass phenomenon” (feeling like there is a barrier in reaching the person). they’re such weird ways to talk about people especially when the clinician’s own biases are rarely taken into account.

i am not a believer in fandom having an age limit but i DO believe that with age and experience you should at least try to develop the ability to Act Right on the internet. nothing wrong at all with being 30+ in fandom but by that point you should be mature enough to devote your fandom experience to just vibing and you definitely should not be devoting it to having shipping arguments with people half your age

Mewtwo & Loki Moodboard

Mewtwo & Loki Moodboard

Since I realized these two characters have a lot in common, actually.

(All images, aside from the one on the top right are from google/stock images. The top right one is from Thor: Dark World, and the bottom left is a photo of a sculpture in a Pokemon center in japan.)

Astraphobia/Lilapsophobia

Loki felt his body tense a little as thunder surged overhead. Though he tried his best to ignore it, the sinking feeling in his stomach kept bringing his attention back every time the sound erupted. It practically shook the tower, but no doubt everyone else either wasn’t bothered or were already asleep.

Of course, Loki was awoken by it, and thanks to his discomfort, he couldn’t bring himself to fall back asleep. Not until it passed at least.

He wouldn’t admit it was a fear. The mere idea of him being afraid of thunder and lighting would’ve been laughable to anyone and everyone. ...Or at least that’s what he thought. But right as another crackle of thunder boomed outside, the light flashed through the room, making him jump, and the door to his room swung open loudly.

(Y/N) slammed the door shut behind him. He had been trying to convince himself to knock and come in for a few minutes, feeling a bit embarrassed about wanting to not be alone during the storm. But after the ear-piercing sound and the bright light, he couldn’t stop himself from throwing the door open and immediately running in. His face was drained of colour and his eyes were wide. It looked like he had just seen a headless ghost. He was trying his best to hide it, but Loki could see that he was shaking.

“...Are you alright?” (Y/N) almost couldn’t speak, he felt like there was a lump in his throat the size of an orange.

“S-sorry.” He muttered. “Can I ju-just stay in here until the storm g-goes?” Before Loki could respond, another flash and boom sounded. Almost as if a flash bang had been thrown into the room. (Y/N) let out a loud yelp, and the next thing Loki knew, (Y/N) was snuggled up to him, arms wrapped tightly around his waist as he shook wildly.

“...You’re afraid of thunder?” The slight tremble in Loki’s voice betrayed him, but at this point that barely mattered.

“It’s childish, I know. It’s...it’s just so loud.” Loki could feel him sinking against him deeper as he muttered that little explanation. (Y/N)’s entire body tense as he anticipated another strike.

It wasn’t just that it was loud though, or that it was sudden, but it was because of just how bad the storm had gotten. Shaking the tower, lighting everything so brightly that it felt like it could’ve blinded you. It just felt like it was only going to get worse.

It didn’t take long before the power went out. The storm was far too violent for the tower’s system to take apparently. The only light was coming from the moon, the city, and the lightning strikes that still seemed to shake the tower.

Loki, at this point, barely cared about his fear being found out, especially knowing (Y/N) had a similar, if not the same, fear. The two of them clutched each other tight, attempting in vain to distract themselves.

Slowly but surely, the storm started to quiet down. It wasn’t gone yet, but it had at least calmed to the point that Loki's fight or flight response had quieted as well. He took a few moments to silently try and compose himself.

“...It’s- it’s not childish. It bothers me just as much.” Loki muttered. (Y/N) nodded, unable to speak. Another clap of thunder, thankfully far quieter. “Ironic, isn’t it? Thor’s brother, afraid of thunder storms.”

After a while, Loki’s soft voice and the quieting thunder started to calm them both down. The storm began to pass, as (Y/N) found his voice and began conversing with him in an attempt to drown out what remained of the noise. Loki explained that he used to be afraid of thunder when he was a child, as he ran his fingers through (Y/N)’s hair. Apparently, there was a period of his life where he’d gotten over that fear with the help of Thor and Frigga. But after what happened on Asgard, and in the events leading up to the attack on New York, suddenly his fear had sprung up again, but far worse.

The current calming atmosphere, the conversation, and the feeling of being in each other’s arms, however? It didn’t take long before the distant sound of thunder was leaving the two asleep.

Asleep after a miraculous and unorthodox bonding experience.

Batman Holiday special idea

Idk this just came to mind and I thought I’d share:

“The Fright before Christmas”

Basically, Scarecrow ends up discovering that Santa Claus exists during one Christmas in Gotham, and the next year, he decides to pull a Jack Skellington and steal Christmas for his own. (Depending on which version of his backstory is used, there may be a reason. Personally I like the idea of using the year one backstory and having it be some kind of ‘making up for lost time’/getting back at Santa for the lack of care for his younger self at the same time.) Though, honestly I feel it might make more sense with the BTAS versions.

He, with the help of Jervis, Riddler, and a few other rogues, takes one of the horse drawn carriages from around the city and fashions it into a carriage of fright. The carriage pulled by eight mind-controlled deer taken from the nearby wilderness.

Batman, of course, finds out about the plot. (Maybe throw in a throw away line referencing Santa’s annual little visit to Apokolips as well.) He tries to stop it, but he can’t seem to figure out who would be organizing it, that is until he finally realizes Scarecrow’s the ringleader of the plot.

This all culminates in a climax involving Scarecrow and a few others in the carriage, riding around Gotham and throwing small boxes full of fear gas and miscellaneous rogue fixings as they go (Poison ivy having boxes full of fast-growing plants, Riddler’s boxes being mini riddler traps that shock you if you don’t answer correctly, etc.). With Batman hot on their tails trying to catch them and avoiding their attempts to stop him. In the end, they end up being taken in, but Scarecrow is given some mail from the outside, sure enough, Santa decided to give him a piece of coal. Petty, but not undeserved.

Idk, the idea came to mind and I couldn’t get the thought of a Scarecrow costume fashioned after Santa’s suit out of my head. ...That and the thought of Jonathan singing ‘What’s this?’ from Nightmare before Christmas. (And the batman rogues gallery singing ‘Making Christmas’.)

A Comment From Cinema Therapy’s Video On ‘Loki’.

A comment from Cinema therapy’s video on ‘Loki’.

Transcript and extra notes below:

I...disagree with the idea of Loki being a narcissist.

Acting out the way he does isn't just a trait of narcissists but also of people with low self-esteem, (I should know, being someone who has acted in such a way myself in the past.) Loki was clearly constantly put down by others, disrespected by who he thought were his people, and generally considered 'lesser' to Thor for most of, if not all of his life for seemingly no reason at all. (He 'feels' he's in Thor's shadow because he blatantly is. There's clear favouritism not just from Odin, but from all of Asgard.)

He never wanted the throne, nor did he actually want power or popularity, he just wanted someone to tell him that he was worthy, he wanted someone to tell him he was worth something and that he wasn't a monster like the other Jotuns were. (This is far clearer in the deleted scenes, where Loki hesitates to take the throne in the first Thor movie, and even looks to his mother, the only person who really seemed to love him, before taking it. As well as his clearly more lovable interactions with Thor before it was revealed that he was Jotun.)

I mean, hell, he tried to commit suicide at the end of the first Thor movie when his father, whom he tried to get recognition from, and who was certainly the biggest issue with his self-esteem, rejected him yet again.

I feel like this is most prominent when you take into account that he IS a Jotun, a being that he was raised to hate and fear. He believes he's a monster, and that coupled with his already problematic self-esteem just makes it apparent that he has the exact opposite problem that a narcissist has.   He does deeply care for other people as well. Frigga being the biggest example, in Dark world, he was heartbroken and devastated by her loss. (And the fact that the last thing he said to her was that she 'wasn't his mother' certainly didn't make it better.) Or in Infinity War, where he recognizes Thanos' plan to kill 'half' of everything, so, seeing as he's one of two brothers, gets Thanos to kill him so Thor will get out safely. Literally sacrificing himself for his brother, who he, on all accounts, shouldn't have cared enough to help there if he was a narcassist.

The mind stone and the sceptre weren't mind controlling Loki, but it was messing with his head, as is seen in-universe as well as mentioned in interviews. This is seen where he stabs Thor, as he's clearly shaken by what he's just done, even if you can only see this reaction for a few moments. He also doesn't believe in what he's saying in Avengers when he's telling the people around him to kneel, that's why Phil claims that he lacks conviction: Because he really does, he's doing all of this because he's hurting, and the mind stone is manipulating him, he doesn't actually believe anything he's saying there.

Before anyone brings it up as well: Ragnarok and the Loki TV show are pieces of MCU lore that should be taken with a grain of salt. Many things said in Ragnarok are inconsistent with the other movies (See Sif apparently having to prove that women can be warriors, yet, the Valkyries existed. Or the fact that apparently the Valkyries died before Thor's time but Thor always wanted to join them? Or the 'we were eight at the time' line, when Thor and Loki, being Asgardian/Jotun, age differently than humans, so by that point, would've actually been infants. The Loki show as well, Sylvie and the entire situation revolving around that comes with many character and story inconsistencies, such as magic seen not working in the TVA but apparently Sylvie can still use it in another episode.)

Basically, from where I'm standing, this diagnosis doesn't seem to make any sense? It makes more sense to say that he's faking narcissism just so he can look strong and more in control, while on the inside continuing to feel unworthy and unlovable. Lashing out not because he's truly hateful, but because, as you've said in another video: 'Hurt people, hurt people.' (Again, something I have sadly been through.) I'd also like to point out, in this way, his mischief seems more like a cry for help. As many will point out, if someone is neglected enough in early life, they're likely to develop a mentality of 'any attention is good attention', which seems to be pretty in-line with a lot of 'mischief' he pulls.

But hey, I'm not a therapist, and that's just my opinion.

Note: Narcissists aren’t inherently bad people. Don’t write them off as ‘evil’ or ‘monsters’. Not all of them are. Putting everyone in boxes like that for mental disabilities or neurodivergence is doing nothing but perpetuating harmful rhetoric and harming people.

...With that being said though, Loki ain’t it, chief.

Real talk though: Cinema therapy’s video on Loki is stupid as hell. ‘Loki genuinely believes he is superior’ is a direct quote, and as you can read from the above post, that statement is blatantly wrong on its own.

If I got anything wrong, feel free to mention so. I want to be sure I get as much correct as possible in this as not to miss anything or perpetuate any harmful stereotypes, I just went off of what was described in the video.

Shout out to all the Black ppl that can no longer participate directly in the fandom they love because of the stresses of racism 👍🏾 you contain multitudes of value and I'm sorry that the color of your skin and the power of your voice makes people not want to acknowledge that.

Leon in the original Resident evil games is fucking annoying. (Especially in RE:4) Like oh my god- shutthefuckupfortwoseconds, you action hero cardboard cutout with the clunkiest dialogue ever, fuck-!

I actually like his character in the remakes, though. His humor and one-liners feel far less grating to me in the remakes.

I know people like to rag on him because Resident Evil has trouble depicting trauma and stuff, but honestly, I prefer the writing in the remakes.

Leon in the original feels way more like the 'edgy emo' that people like to claim remake!Leon feels like imo. The constant action hero lines in the original RE:4 feel super tacky and take me out of the game a lot. (Especially the 'sing kumbaya' one at the very beginning, that one felt really awkward and clunky as hell.)
