I think I understand the point of the Warfstache mask easter egg, the point is to not focus on it instead of looking into it you have to look past it and just enjoy it for what it is. That in my eyes was the point of the easter egg, they don't want you looking for easter eggs and will berate at every point for stumbling upon them they want you sticking to the planned out story path and not veer off course.

Same applies if your walking if someone is following you, don't stop and question them. Just book it to a place where you are safe and can call the police or even hop into a trusted neighbors yard and tell them what happened while they call the cops.
