They’re very fond of each other and at some point in the story they become the dearest and most important person in the others life. Chasing Johan for the same reasons or the same cause. Through the whole series we saw them share very short moments together but even if it was short the amount of time they spent together the way the presence of the other affects entirely in them. And I’m rooting for that.

The simnifically large amount of parallels they share, like those moments taking care of Dieter.

Nina is entire, true and desperately devoted to Tenma, she tried so hard protecting him at all cost, whiling to her own humanity because she didn’t want him to become a murd3r3r. She wanted him to keep saving lives, to keep being a doctor.

Not to mention Tenma practically said that his life was meaningless without her, he begged her on his knees to staying alive, because he didn’t know where he would go without her.

A lot of people saw them as family but to be honest at least for me it was beyond that. The bond that grew between them it was so much powerful and complex. It was different the way Nina saw her father and the way she saw Tenma.
