Monster: Kenzo Tenma As a Boyfriend Headcanons

There isn't enough of Tenma, so I decided to take matters into my own hands to make one. I hope you like them, I tried my best~ Please forgive me too if any headcanons were said more than twice, I have a very bad lack of focus~ ^ ^

Tenma has to be one of the most fluffiest, cuddliest, & sweetest boyfriend you will ever have!~

After very late night-shifts, Tenma would not think about changing into his pajamas & just plop right onto your bed & pull you close, cuddling you & murmuring soft words into your hair.

Tenma has excellent cooking skills, so every day, he's the one cooking the meals just for you~ Sometimes, if you wanted to cook with him, he'll stand behind you & guide your hands as you cut, shred, & stir.

Tenma prefers to have lazy days with you, if he ever got a chance at a long week break from the hospital. He would either want to just sleep with you or watch a few movies while he cuddled & laughed with you.

He really loves nature walks, so he'd force you to come out with him, even if you don't want to go. & when you did, he would take out his camera & take a bunch of photos that he would raise up into the air, with his long arms, to avoid your reaching grips & just laugh at your aggressive behavior.

If you ever got hurt or feel sick, it wouldn't take him a second to jump into action & care for you. He would go to every store to buy anything you'd want & provide as much materials to ensure your health & safety.

Tenma is a very good listener, so if you were ever having a bad day, he would ask you if you're alright & if you want to talk to him about it. If you didn't want to at the moment, he would respect that & wait patiently.

While he waited, he would pull you into warm hugs & rock back & forth with you in his arms until you calmed down & felt at ease. When you were ready, he would listen to all of your problems.

He would tell you "that everything will be okay in its time." & "that you're special, so don't reject yourself."

In my opinion, I think that Tenma, of the Five Love Languages, would prefer "Acts of Service".

You would let him know that he doesn't need to work so hard, but he loves doing things for you, so its going to be hard to stop him. XD

He loves doing the chores around the house, feeding your pet (if you want one), running errands, etc. Sometimes, after all that drudgery, you have to give him a massage. XD

When it comes to physical affection, kisses may be infrequent & more hugging is noticeable. But, when he did kiss, it would either be a long one on the lips or a beautiful peck on the forehead. <3

Tenma is a date kind of guy, so he almost endlessly plans dates every single day. He wants to have as much fun with you as possible!

I think he would be the kind of person to listen to music with you while you lied against him, whether it be in the rain on a bench or inside on the couch in moonlight silence.

Even though he may be extremely busy or at work practically the whole day, it doesn't stop him from sending you messages & making as much time to spend with you.

He would do anything just to make you smile. ^_^

random Tenma headcanons

he did not just walk off a car crash like that idc idc he now has chronic pain bc of it

he did not learn his lesson when he fainted back in volume 1 for not sleeping and eating properly, and it def happened again at least once or twice during the timeskips we get between chapters/arcs. The problem is sort of resolved when he's traveling with Dieter because he needs to make sure the both of them are okay but reverts when he's not with Dieter.

never regains the weight he lost while hunting for Johan. His eating and sleeping habits def get better and he does gain most of it back but not all of it.

kept a sweater of Grimmer's after his death

while them getting back together is out of the question, Tenma and Eva have managed to build some sort of friendship post-canon. Despite their differences, there's some comfort found in them knowing each other for so long, and due to their lifestyles (Tenma always traveling, Eva's... complicated personality) they have very few serious connections with people. So it's nice to count each other as one, even if it's flawed.

Whenever he comes back to Germany to visit Dieter, Nina, Eva, etc. he runs into his old patients sometimes and catches up with them to see how they're doing

Despite being proven innocent, his face was plastered on news papers for years as the main suspect of all those murders. Which leads to uncomfortable, awkward circumstances whenever someone (a passerby, a cashier, a bartender, etc.) recognizes him.

Sends Nina and Dieter letters while working that sometimes include photos taken with his patients, mostly child patients.

Brings the two of them souvenirs whenever he thinks of them or finds something he think they'd like

The only problems he has with long/longer hair is the memories attached to it. While he prefers short hair, having it grow out only poses some mildly tedious problems. But whenever it does grow out he's reminded of how much death and misery surrounded him while on the run, and can't bear to let it grow longer. It also makes him feel unkept even if he were to take good care of it.

Tenma if his s/o is sick

First of all he definitely would take the day off to take care of them. He wouldn’t go to work at the hospital. He would take care of them two days and if his s/o recovers quickly he would leave to work but he would call them regularly to make sure they’re okay.

Obviously, he takes the lead and responsibility of the medication they might need. He’d tell ‘em which medicine to take. He would check their temperature, pulse and blood pressure regularly.

He’d make sure they sleep very well, and I know he would like to cuddle with them to make sure they sleep and recover.

He’s gentle all the time but if they were sick he would be 100% more gentle. Giving hugs, kisses and cuddles.

In the middle of the night he would carefully touch their forehead to verify they don’t have fever. And if they had, he’d put a cold water compress and he would stay awake all night keeping them under observation.

He’d put their favorite music, their favorite movie or tv show to make ‘em feel better.

He would want to stay with them all the time taking care of ‘em.
