hes my spirit animal
This was the first time that Cale had ever been told he was cute, whether in this world or during his life as Kim Rok Soo. He had never been called cute in his thirty-plus, almost forty years.
LSH and CJS when I catch you.
Something I initially really liked about Cale's character is how he suddenly became the "trash" of the count's family and he seemingly takes it as an asshole permit.
No manners, rude? Well duh, He's the local trash.
And then, hundreds of chapters later it hit me:
This guy really never changed the way he acted, he says so himself and it's why Choi Han was able to easily recognize him in Choi Jung Soo's memories.
Which begs the question: What sort of internal narrative did he have going on as Kim Rok Soo to "justify" his behavior?
Baby Rok Soo was at the bottom of the social ladder, an orphan, poor and his uncle was an alcoholic and a gambling addict to boot
How many times do you think he heard things like "What can you expect from someone without parents?", or "Just what you would expect from someone who wasn't raised properly"
"Someone of your kind"
And then he became a Team Leader
How many things did he do or didn't do under the pretense of being "Cold-blooded"
It also doesn't help that he's unable to process praise or kindness directed at him.
When I say “I love this artist” I either know 5 of their songs that I play on repeat or I know their entire discography and you just have to guess which one it is
Somehow my two hyperfixes met

❤️ Choi Han ❤️ Cale
Despair and laziness.
My subscribers have chosen the path of Cale. This is the path of laziness. Let's see where this leads.
In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.
I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!
From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!
I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.
The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.
(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)
If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.
The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.
insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box
add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box
delete -> self explanatory
on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic
The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.
Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.
who can relate
getting to know me for ~5 months or so then on month 6 things start to slowly click for you that ive clearly been trying to manufacture situations where you get struck by lightning
some of my favorite choi han moments are the ones where he explicitly admits that cale is holding his leash.
like that one time the enemy called cale choi han's owner.
and choi han agreed. what's with that?? it's making me feral.
the way choi han takes pride in listening cale's orders. he wants to be good so bad. he's so happy when he can do what cale asks him to.
and this?? he's defying his friend and the future king in front of all of his vassals. telling the absolute ruler of your kingdom in the middle of a crisis that 'cale-nim's orders supersede your own' is ballsy as hell. choi han has no place for politeness when cale's orders are in question.
once again, i'm going absolutely insane at this level of loyalty.
Finn + any pronouns + aroaceMostly lurk, but if I post/reblog it'll be about TCF/LCF or some web novels
