An old favorite
Fanon lovers: Hawks would be a shitty boyfriend since he is always working and probably uses his body in some lines of his work.
Canon lovers: Hawks is a precious fucking bean that must be protected. If you try and slander the precious nugget, you are going to meet your McFucking end.
THIS and he would rather stay at the home he owns rather than one given by the commission. Simply because it is his. It wasn't given to him and he has free reign in his own home to simply relax.
can we just talk about how tragic hawks' story is
from a young age, he was shamed for his quirk. then the commission came along and exploited a child for his quirk. his whole life was centred around his quirk and being a hero. then he lost it in a battle. he was so young too like he was in his early twenties i think?? AND it was not long after dabi burned his wings. i feel so bad for hawks i just want to give him a hug :(
Can I get an interpretation on how well both fanon Hawks and canon Hawks would get along with children? I feel like both versions would genuinely enjoy being around kids but I would like your opinion. Would either go out of their way to visit sick children in the hospital?
Hawks and kids? Oh boy...
Canon Hawks always loves to make children's day by taking photos, giving autographs, or saying something to make them smile. If he is asked to visit hospitals, schools, or a daycare, he is always more than happy to drop by and make the children's day. He does not tell the kids no, when it comes to them climbing into him and taking his visor and headphones. However, when it comes to his wings, he tells them to be careful, as he needs them to do his job. Any feathers he sheds during the visit, he gives to the kid for them to keep. Making their day, makes his day.
Vs.
Fanon Hawks enjoys making children's day saying something to make them smile or giving them an autograph. If he is asked to visit hospitals, schools, or a daycare, he checks to see if he can fit the visit in his schedule. He does not tell the kids no, when it comes to them climbing into him and taking his visor and headphones. He lets them keep them if they so wish to have his gear. Any feathers he sheds during the visit, he gives to the kid for them to keep. When messing around with his wings, he restrains himself when they pull at his feathers, or caress the soft feathering. He enjoys to make them happy, but they do leave him tired and exhausted.
"I like Hawks but I can't excuse what he did to Twi-" I can. You're weak. I can excuse it. I like Hawks and I condone all of his actions and will back it up with a 5 paragraph essay per action.
Unpopular opinion: Canon Hawks isn't represented as much, and it absolutely sends me when I find Canon Hawks representation that actually fits Canon Hawks.
Update: I'm stupid and my laptop charger wasnt fully plugged in. It's still old as hell though
Looks like updates will be a lot slower :/ My laptop is really old and is on its last steps. My new computer is having power issues, so I will have to write everything on my phone. Big sadge
I ordered Hawks merch last month and I get an email saying my order was canceled?!

Okay I like sting bean hawks, but hear me out, hawks would have massive pecks/chest and back muscles because of his wingsโฆand then like have a skinny waistโฆ.like a triangle/Dorito ๏ฟผ
IIRC Hawks has complained about his body not being able to accommodate his wings properly. But in light of your comment. I do think rather than having a bugger chest, Hawks would likely benefit more if he had a spare set of pectorals. If you were to think of it on an anatomical level, the pectorals help with the movement of the shoulders and arms. For the movement of wings, you would more than likely need another set of pectorals to help, along with stronger back muscles.
Hawks, per say, wouldn't need more muscles to accommodate his wings, but rather, he would need a body that actually accommodates his wings.
I think a good way to explain it would be your stereotypical harpy or wyvern. Their arms are wings, meaning they have no hands, so they would have no need for an extra set of muscles. Harpies are depicted as a part woman part bird creature in mythology. However, with how the body is *typically* structured, their bodies are more bird than humans, so the muscle structures would look different, yet it would accommodate for the wings.
Wyverns are depicted as dragons who have wings for arms rather than a typical western dragon that has wings on its back. Western dragons are usually depicted as having strong, large bodies, and while we can not actually confirm their muscle structure, we often seen them design with large chests, and more than likely a complex muscle structure to also accommodate for their wings. Wyverns wouldn't need as large of a chest as a western dragon and more often depicted with slender bodies compared to that of a western dragon, yet still are big since they need strong muscles to fly.
Let's take Hawks now. Being human, his body is not adapted to have wings. If you look at, say, a body builder and how they large muscles, if you gave them wings, what muscles exactly would be used to promote the wings to function? None, why? Because every muscle on the human body already has its use and purpose. Simply put, you would need extra muscles on your body that are specifically for said wings. If we were to put that into Hawks, his body would look different. If we were to go off of how his quirk is used and how long he has been training his quirk, and if he did have the proper muscles to accommodate his wings. Hawks would look completely different. Yes, he would have a winder chest, but he would have extra muscles, such as extra pecorals and even extra back muscles.
Anyways I got off track here.... sorry about that >.>
Yes, he would have a strong upper body, but IMO (OPINION BTW) his entire body wouldn't also be as strong. He is meant for speed, not strength. We don't know a lot about how his wings actually work if you think of it from a muscle standpoint. Hell, with how his quirk works and what we have seen in the manga and anime, we can't even guarantee he has wing bones.
That being all said. I'm just rambling, so ignore me. But I still prefer string bean Hawks over muscular Hawks :P
Tempted to re-read @sleepwalkersqueen 's Fear of You....
Fuck it, Ima do it.
Title: | BEAST |
SUMMARY:
In the humans world mystical creatures were known as legends, fiction even. The humankind simply did not believe in their existence, in fact, they feared that beings like that might wander the earth...
One day, legends become reality when a ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ข๐ด๐ต of a man, a man with gigantic wings attached to his body is captured by a group of village soldiers.
And suddenly, everything changed.
But the fear within the humans did not change.
The fear of the unknown.
Humans fear what they don't understand, so they become hostile towards the beast of a man.
People are selfish beings... To protect themselves from the unknown, they reach to cruelty and label it as ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฆ๐ค๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ.
In the middle of all of this, there is you.
You fear the winged man, but you also feel sorrow for the poor soul... The man that has done nothing worth of being treated like this.
And the more you get to spend time with the mysterious creature, you just know; You will set him free.
__________________________________________
An uproar in the village causes you to lift your head from your current labor; filling up a wooden bucket with water from the well.
People are frantically running towards the gates of the small village, eager to see what's causing the tumult.
Curiosity winning the upper hand you slowly put down the bucket in your hands and wipe your dirty hands on your robe, joining the people walking towards the reason of the commotion.
Your surrounding is filled with so many people, you are certain that the majority the villagers are currently present, joining the crowd.
"They said it's a ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ด๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ!" , shouts a woman a few feets away from you.
"I heard it's a ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ข๐ด๐ต!", argues another old lady, and you realize it's the bakers wife, Mrs. Jefferson.
Others start talking frantically around you, and the words ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ด๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ and ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ข๐ด๐ต comes out of every single one of their mouths. Not surely understanding what is going on, you decide to ignore the people around you.
The person they are referring to with those cruel words is probably a poor soul having been found in the woods, trying to trespass the village.
The village you live in is rather small but definitely not impoverished. Surrounded by woods and lakes it's a place that provides every human needs.
So it is not uncommon that people from poor villages try to trespass, wanting to be a part of the tranquil living.
Unfortunately for the poor souls, the mayor never allows foreigners to enter the village.
Everyone knows the cruel heart of the leader of the town.
And no one ever dares to speak against him. He may be a ruthless man, but everyone is grateful for the light lives he provides them with.
Excluding you.
You, the daughter of the mayor.
One would think you being the daughter of the most important person in the village would have the most extravagance life out of everyone.
But as everyone knows, that's not the case.
Your father loathes your existence since the day you've been born. Thinking that your mother, who died after giving birth to you, was unfaithful. Believing in rumours about his wife his whole life, he has treated you no better than a servant in his home.
And that's what you basically are, a servant in his massive home.
You'd be lying if you said it doesn't bother you.
But over the years you've learned to put a mask of indifference on your face.
Obeying your fathers every word, you manage to elude the mayor's occasionally outbursts.
Well, most of the time at least.
Seeing the village gates slowly appearing in your sight you come to a halt like many others in the crowd. You peek over heads, trying to see the reason why everyone has gathered here.
The moment your eyes land on where the mayor is currently standing, a high pitched shriek erupts from the mass.
You jolt frightened, your eyes getting bigger. The crowd starts getting louder, some are screaming, others are talking frantically with each other, you can see the fear in their eyes.
Despite of the uneasy feeling that starts building in your body you start to walk further to the front, lightly pushing people out of the way.
And the moment you stand at the front of the crowd you inhale sharply.
Right in front of the gates of your village stands a barred tumbleweed wagon surrounded by soldiers guarding it.
A being with the image of a human throws himself around aggressively inside of the cart.
The being with a hair that has touched the sun is wearing only torn pants, it's hands are chained in front of it and it gives everyone the most gruesome expression you've ever seen.
There is a snarl coming from it as it shifts from side to side swiftly in the small wagon.
But that is not the reason why you can't take your eyes off of the being.
You saw them.
The moment it swirled around you saw those immense wings attached to it's body with the color of the brightest blood.
They have been tied horribly together behind it's back.
It may look like a human, but you can't really call it that... You've never seen a human like ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ด.
Your mind refuses to work. You can't believe your eyes.
You don't even register that your father, the mayor is addressing the crowd, talking about the being inside of the wagon with excitement, obviously proud of his catch. You don't hear anything, not the people beside and behind you inhaling in shock or talking wildly.
All your senses are solely fixated at the... creature inside of the big prison wagon.
Suddenly it starts growling and throws it's body against the bars of the wagon with such force the cart starts shaking rapidly.
The crowd escalates, the screaming gets louder, some people start running away to the opposite direction, making a bigger gap between them and the creature in front of them.
You don't dare to move, your eyes get bigger the longer you regard the winged being inside of the wagon.
You still can't believe your eyes.
It is breathing heavily, still watching all of you with such hostility it makes the hair on your neck rise in fear.
Upon further inspection you can see that it's feets are also chained to the wagon.
There is no escape.
Suddenly it's golden orbs land on you.
And yet again, you stop breathing.
You should be frightened at the sight in front of you. The way it's bruised chest is heaving, the way it is looking at you, as if it'd charge at you with the intend to kill the moment it is free.
But the more your eyes wander on his body, the more you start feeling sorrow for the poor soul. The sight of it being injured all over it's body, the way how tightly it has been tied up and chained...
It looks so vulnerable, but yet still ready to fight for it's life despite the situation it is in.
You are about to take a step towards it when all of a sudden the cart starts moving. Soldiers are transporting the being to a place unknown to you.
You blink in surprise and immediately take a step back.
You were so blinded by the creature in the wagon that you didn't even realize that the mayor was finished with his speech. The crowd was silent now, watching the wagon leaving the scene. You do the same, still too taken aback by everything that had occurred just now.
You can't stop but see the world differently now. There were species like that being out there your whole life and you never knew. No one knew. Looking around the crowd you see astound and frightened expressions.
It is a shock for everyone. It is a shock to humankind.
One, that will lead to horrible actions of the humans which you are not aware of yet.
You are about to turn around and leave the place to continue your duties when suddenly the mayor calls out to you, making you flinch in surprise.
"(Y/N)!"
He flicks his finger, ordering you to his side. As always, you obey and walk to his side with quick steps.
Curtseying, you stand a few steps away from him, facing him.
"Y-yes, your honour?" , you stutter, voice out of breath.
You don't dare to adress him as ๐ง๐ข๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ. Whenever it slips your mouth unconsciously the outburst of your father is immense, a few times he even slapped you for it.
And you also don't dare to ask him about the being inside of the wagon, knowing that he wouldn't answer your questions anyways. Your father barely talks to you, only in times when he is obligated to do so, but never in front of a huge crowd.
Soldiers are standing beside of him, guarding him as always. He is currently talking to his consultant, his bearded face is showing indifference. You can't decipher what he is thinking.
Despite the fact that the world he lives in shows him a new species he has never encountered before, he radiates composure.
Finally, his head turns around and he faces you.
"Follow me." he instructs, inexpressive.
And immediately, the uneasiness from before captures your body at his words.
Why would your father want something from you right after seeing the world change before his eyes?
He knows your daily assignments. He knows that you do the most work in his mansion, that you are sometimes so busy, you have to stay up late at nights to finish your duties.
This is definitely a sign that something is not right. That something is about to change. And you don't know if it will be a bad or a good change. You hope for the latter.
But as always, you doubt that anything good will ever happen to you. It has always been this way and without a doubt, it will always stay this way.

๐๐ณ๐ช๐ฑ.
Your body has never been this tense before, you are absolutely certain.
๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฑ.
Are you even breathing currently?
๐๐ณ๐ช๐ฑ.
Are you even alive or has the winged being, which is currently chained to the wall ten meters away from you, taken your life already?
๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฑ.
You squeeze your eyes shut.
You have to go through with this or the consequences will be enormous. Abruptly, the fear of the wrath of your father is stronger than the fear you are feeling right now and you are able to open your eyes again.
The ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ข๐ด๐ต like everyone else calls it, is looking you straight into the eyes. Despite the fact that it's face has so many new bruises now, it looks intimidating.
You guess that the soldiers who brought it here had a hard time chaining it up...
Blood is dropping down from it's nose to the wet floor of the basement you are currently standing in, the only sound in the whole room.
For a courthouse to have such a filthy basement...
And the fact that your new daily assignment is to ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฑ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ข๐ด๐ต ๐ข๐ญ๐ช๐ท๐ฆ is a cruelty. It is the cruelest your father could've done to you, and he did.
Without blinking an eye.
Taking care of the unknown... Of a creature that has everyone in fear in the whole village...
You recall the moment the mayor had announced that you must tend to it's injuries since you have some experience in healing small wounds. You also have to bring it it's daily meals; a slice of bread and a small cup of water.
'"๐๐ฆ ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ต ๐จ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ ๐ด๐ต๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐จ๐ต๐ฉ." Has your father said.
Such savagery.
Moreover, this did not mean that you've been freed from your other duties, no. Just another task that you have to take care for. A dangerous task.
You feel sorry for the being, you certainly do. But that doesn't mean that your fear is gone completely. You've seen the hostility in it's eyes the moment your own landed on it. The way it had regarded you, bloodlust was radiating off of it. You don't know what it thinks, how it will react to your presence...
Hell, you don't even know what it is! It looks human, but then again it doesn't... No human you know has wings attached to their body!
It is a cruel assignment indeed.
Taking care of a otherworldly being.
But you must not lose more precious time. You can't afford to do so. So, forcing your eyes to land on it again you see it's still looking at you with intimidating eyes.
Swallowing hard you make the first step towards it.
Then another.
And another.
You continue slowly until you are a few feets away from it. And the moment you make your last step you hear a feral growl coming out of it and it's throwing itself on you.
Shrieking in panic, you quickly make a few steps back again, too frightened to stand near it.
Fortunately, the chains that are attached to the stone wall behind of it are rather short, so it can't really move more than a few inches towards you.
Your heart beats so fast you fear it might come out of your chest any second. You don't know how to approach it without getting in any kind of danger. Your gaze lands on it's face, you see it's watching you dangerously, the hostility in it's eyes never disappearing. Swallowing hard you think of a way to approach it, make it understand that you're not here to hurt it any further. But your mind doesn't seem to work, it's golden orbs are preventing you from coming up with anything.
So here you are, your eyes locked with the creature, both of you not moving an inch. By doing so, you dare to move your gaze over it's body. Over it's horribly injured body...
It has bad looking bruises all over it. But it doesn't seem like anything is broken. You wouldn't be able to treat a broken bone anyways, you are no physician.
And then, your eyes land on those mesmerizing wings.
Even though they are still tied up tightly behind it's back, they look marvelous. You wonder how they would look in all their glory...
Sighing you close your eyes shut and take a deep breath. You have to do this, there is no way around.
Opening your eyes again, you make the last few steps towards it and stand still. Not a meter is separating you from the winged being now.
Even though you knew it wasn't a wise decision, you did it anyways and are paying for it. Because this time you are close enough so the creature is swiftly grabbing your ankle, making you fall to the ground abruptly. You don't have the time to even think about the pain on your back, the winged being is suddenly above you. It locks you between it's strong arms, one on each side of your head.
You are laying on your back on the wet stony basement floor, your whole body is going rigid at the sight in front of you; teeths bared, the winged being is snarling into your face, it's rapid breathing is touching your face.
The fear you are currently experiencing is worse than the fear you have of your father, you realize. Because your body starts trembling miserably, your eyes getting more wet each passing second. You don't know what to do, you doubt you have any chance of fleeing. So you do the only thing that is left, ๐ฑ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ.
You squeeze your eyes shut and do exactly that.
"P-please don't hurt me... ", it's barely above a whisper, your voice comes out weak.
The only thing that's giving you comfort right now is the fact that you don't see that feral face. It's just too close and your heart is already beating so fast with fear, you are most certain you'd lose consciousness if you had to look into that horrifying face any longer.
Suddenly there is the sound of clanking chains and the breath wafting on your face is gone.
You dare to open your eyes and the moment you see that you are free, you don't think twice.
Standing up as quickly as you can you run towards the wooden basement door. Opening it, you rush outside of the room as fast as your feets are able to.
You don't look back, not once.
You don't see the way the creature is watching you intensely until you are out of sight.
