💚 - izuku has been regressing since middle school and he usually regresses to an age range of 2-4. he’s quiet and incredibly self sufficient after years of raising himself under a working single mother. even while regressed, he maintains a journal where he meticulously logs things and data collects about what he likes and doesn’t like. he has a system and it works for him. when he starts training for, and starts attending, ua, his regression gets knocked to the back burner while he focuses on everything else happening in his life. it basically leads to a year of him burning out and impurely regressing because he keeps putting it off.

💜 - hitoshi finds out about it when he joins the hero course and moves into the dorms. he’s a chronic night owl and while you’re not supposed to leave your dorm room after lights out, that’s a guideline at best and aizawa has too much favoritism to actually punish him for being out and awake at three in the morning. he finds izuku huddled up in the commons, crying after a nightmare, and genuinely stands there awkwardly for like thirty seconds before sighing and deciding that the better thing to do is to comfort him. of course, this leads to a lap full of his sobbing classmate/rival and a VERY awkward conversation in the morning where izuku spends two hours writing a super long text explaining age regression and apologizing for his behavior and hitoshi just responds with “ok 👍”

💚 - it leads to a never-ending cycle of little izuku seeking hitoshi out constantly since he’s the only one that knows about his regression and then big izuku furiously apologizing in the morning, swearing that it won’t happen again (and it always goes). little izu is very attached to hitoshi— he views hitoshi as this insanely rad older kid (you know, like a little brother would) and hitoshi is really uncomfortable with the attention but it’s like… a pleased discomfort. he’s never had anyone treat him like he’s the coolest thing ever so he just rolls with it. eventually, hitoshi tells him to stop apologizing after the fact because he doesn’t hate hanging around a baby that looks at him like he’s the literal definition of awesomeness and that leads to them having their first ACTUAL conversation about it.

💜 - they’re both autistic but in very different ways so their dynamic struggles just as much as it works. Izuku is very understimulated all the time (especially while small) so he’s constantly talking, stimming, and seeking out things to do. hitoshi, meanwhile, is insanely easy to overstimulate but he knows that if he says anything about it, izuku will shut down and never speak again just to make him comfortable and that’s not what he wants. the solution is a truly incredible amount of parallel play while they listen to hitoshi’s safe playlists music or while hitoshi wears noise canceling headphones (that one usually only happens when he puts on a show/movie for izuku or has had a really bad day). sometimes hitoshi will use little izuku to help him study because the kid’s literal special interest is heroics, he’s got an insane memory, and hitoshi has neither of those things so going over study cards with izuku or making up games quizzing him is both fun and beneficial for hitoshi’s grades.

💚 - hitoshi struggles a lot with physical affection while izuku is very tactile. it leads to a lot of back and forth where they try to figure out the middle ground or ways of signaling when something’s okay. hitoshi is fine with hand holding (as long as he has sleeves that can cover his hands or he’s wearing gloves) and he can cuddle in small doses, so that’s 95% of what izuku initiates. he’s always holding hitoshi’s hand and he’s very sweet and considerate about making sure that hitoshi’s okay with it (to the degree that hitoshi has to constantly remind izuku that he, hitoshi, is the older one who should do all the worrying). in return, hitoshi gives izuku a lot of large stuffed animals wearing his shirts (or cologne for smaller things) so izuku has something to cuddle with still. izuku’s favorite is this really dumb looking stuffed crow that’s wearing yellow rain boots and a yellow bucket hat that hitoshi offhandedly won him during a festival (could be school festival or the class deciding to go out for the weekend). hitoshi has no idea why he likes it so much but izuku is obsessed with it.

💜 - because of izuku’s excessive cataloging, it’s actually really easy for hitoshi to take care of him. they weren’t really friends prior to this point so most of what he learns about izuku comes from his journals. he learns his favorite food, his favorite toys, his favorite movies and tv shows, his favorite sensory objects, and what he enjoys doing; and, for the most part, a lot of this stuff either overlaps with izuku when he’s big or he states in his journals where his interests deviate and his theories for why that might be. it gets to a point where hitoshi will overhear someone asking about what izuku might like for his birthday or a holiday and he’s just able to answer despite the fact that he and izuku rarely hang out around other people so practically no one (except iida, uraraka, and bakugou) know that they’re even friends. it also means that hitoshi knows about izuku’s triggers and a lot of the traumas that he’s experienced. there’s a lot that izuku purposefully redacts when he lets hitoshi read his journals, but there’s still a lot there that makes hitoshi realize that they really aren’t that different after all.

regressor lyney.

1) he says he's around 13-14 years old when regressed, but that's a LIE because he has people who depend on him !! but in reality, he's around 2-3 years old.

2) lots of cat-like features. For starters, paw pads on his hands / feet that he hides when big (via his gloves ofc). he can also purr when he's happy enough, adores being scratched behind the ears, and loves meowing and making small mrrp noises and headbutts for attention /silly (also the headbutts are based off my cat, she does it to get my attention hehe)

3) lots of nightmares and stress, so in the day he'll be all Big and Adult, but at night? instant baby as soon as he's home. It's like his brain flips a switch, all he wants is cartoons and a nice bottle - as well as Lynette and Freminet!!!

4) very rarely, arlecchino will find him regressed. at first, she hardly understood agere, but eventually ended up supporting him, since it did more good for his mental health than harm (ofc). She's a total sucker for him!! she understands he's not actually *physically* a baby, and so he's allowed coffee sometimes, and small walks around Fontaine if he feels up to it!

5) of course, no visions when regressed. or weapons. arlecchino is quite skilled at taking them away from freminet (but keeping them in his line of sight, just incase he needs to ground himself) but Lynette and Freminet fail 90% of the time hehe.

6) no magic when little, either!!!! more of a rule for Lyney's own good. one time he did a magic trick on his favourite pacifier and he couldn't find it for three days...the baby was just tears....

~I love kitten regressor Lyney so much, you have no idea. Him and Freminet = all the kitten traits, just like their sister when either are regressed. It’s canon, trust me

~I think I would personally give Lyney a bit of an older age range, like 5-2 just cause a bit older and he can still enjoy like magic kits and a lot more fun hands on activities. Also because it’s funnier I feel for him to be like ‘no I have an older age range’ <-is literally a kindergartener. But also, oldest headspace compared to his siblings… maybe?

~I like to think that Arlecchino when first caregiving would freak out for a half second when Lyney does something that an actual baby couldn’t (like take a full adults dose of medicine) and for those couple of seconds it’s just total panicky mom mode. Only happened a couple of times though and usually when her attention was split between two or more tasks

~Oh no! Actually something I never thought about for Lyney, but the possibility of magic going haywire is very real when he’s so small. A pacifier is one thing, imagine a beloved stuffed toy? He would be wailing, and wouldn’t get sleep for days until it was found again

Agere/Petre Catra headcanons

(Agere Adora headcanons, agere Glimmer headcanons)

Mainly regressor!Catra + caregiver!Adora

Content warnings: self harm mention, Shadow Weaver‘s manipulation being mentioned, Catra’s negative feelings towards age regression, negative emotions while regressed; SPOP spoilers

Catra is a flip heavily leaning towards a regressor. She’d like to be a caregiver more but most of the time when it comes to agere she ends up in a regressed state instead.

She tends to regress when overwhelmed, scared, stressed out or when she gets triggered.

She tends to feel very vulnerable and sensitive in her regressed state and prefers to hide from others. Wouldn’t let anyone approach her unless she’s real close with that person.

May cry a lot and hurt herself but also lash out at others.

But inside she just wants to feel safe and be comforted, hugged, soothed…

Her regression is one of her biggest secrets that she guards heavily. Catra tends to think of this as a weakness that she has to eliminate, and yet she just can’t. That frustrates her a lot and oftentimes she hates herself for this. It’s especially true when she’s still in the Horde. She tries hard to repress it all.

Despite this being a secret, it’s likely that Adora and Shadow Weaver know about it.

Shadow Weaver simply knows her well enough to figure it out. SW keeps this a secret and doesn’t reveal it to others simply because SW doesn’t really care. For her it’s just another aspect of Catra’s personality that may or may not be useful to her. SW doesn’t speak of any of this to Catra either. But it’s possible that SW uses this knowledge to manipulate Catra at some point.

Adora also finds out about Catra’s regression. It happens on accident one day when she runs into a regressed Catra who lashes out then cries and apologizes.

Adora may be taken aback by Catra’s actions and hurt at first but she reassures Catra that it’s okay, that happens, no need to cry. Adora doesn’t hold it against Catra, she understands that everyone has bad days and may lash out sometimes and she can see that Catra is sorry.

She hugs Catra tightly while Catra can’t stop talking, a mix of venting and trying to explain what’s happening to her.

When Catra calms down she feels pretty embarrassed and ashamed about the whole thing but she does her best to properly explain her regression to Adora.

This is something new to Adora but she listens and does her best to understand. She thinks it’s nothing to be ashamed about. Catra’s secret is also safe with her and Adora doesn’t tell anyone about this.

Though it still takes a while for Catra to fully trust Adora with this, eventually she starts including Adora in her regression.

Adora starts helping with Catra’s regression, helps her figure out her triggers, find ways to make her comfortable and safe while regressed.

With Adora’s help, over time Catra’s regression becomes more comfortable, it becomes more fun and pleasant, starts feeling like something safe rather than something too vulnerable and shameful for Catra to do.

While it still often happens as a reaction to strong emotions and Catra has to deal with that when that happens, she starts regressing during other times too.

Basically Adora’s help allows Catra to actually explore her regression, learn more about it and herself, just like Adora is learning more about Catra through this.

For example, Catra realizes that she likes chewy things, sometimes she chews her own tail or hands. Pacifiers get chewed up pretty fast!

She likes to play with anything shiny and things that make light noise like small keys.

She also likes to indulge her cat side: running on all fours and having the zoomies, playing with cat toys, rolling around with a toy, meowing.

After Melog enters her life, they often play together like this! Just both of them being two big cats together!

When very regressed and comfortable, Catra lets her guard down and doesn’t talk much if at all, mostly responds in noises, meows, etc.

She also purrs. A lot and loudly.

She lets Adora play with her as if Catra was just a cat, feed her, cuddle her, and read her stories to help her sleep.

Over time Catra figures out that she has caregiver qualities too and realizes she’s a flip even if she still remains mainly a regressor.

Adora isn’t much of a regressor herself, but she allows Catra to take care of her and baby her a little when Catra is in the caregiver mindset. To be honest, Adora finds that pretty enjoyable and she likes that side of Catra. But Adora really likes regressed baby Catra as well, she’s just too cute!

Regressors Elsa and Anna Headcanons (Frozen)

Suggested by @histroiansofenchancia; they technically suggested Friend Anna, but I decided to do Regressor/Playmate instead. Hope that’s okay! :)

Elsa:

She regresses to a younger age range - six at the oldest, but often younger - and she usually regresses involuntarily.

She is super clumsy while regressed, which sometimes frustrates her.

The big exception is when she’s moving on ice. Whether thanks to her powers or just a weird fluke, she never slips when she’s skating.

Speaking of her powers, she LOVES showing them off. She normally holds back a little, but when she’s regressed she truly lets loose.

She also uses her powers to make her own regressor clothes.

She’s very particular about physical touch; not even Anna can touch her without asking.

 She’s extra emotional when she’s regressed. The happy feelings are a million times stronger, the sad feelings lead to hours of crying…

And yes, angry feelings can lead to pretty intense tantrums. She never intentionally hurts anyone but sometimes it happens accidentally.

After a tantrum, she’ll apologize a thousand times and do chores to make up for it; she can’t stand being put in timeout. 

She insists on her hands always being free, but she loves being bundled up in blankets. It makes her really excited.

Anna:

Anna regresses to around ten, and she honestly really loves being able to be the boss of younger regressors.

She loves animals in any headspace, but especially when she’s regressed. She knows every dog in the kingdom by name and is constantly stopping to pet horses or rabbits or geese. (Yes, she gets bitten sometimes. No, that will not stop her.)

She has super high energy levels and is constantly looking for new games to play.

Chase? Let’s run absolutely wild through the castle! Charades? She’s totally gonna win! Dolls? How’d you know that was her favorite?!

She frequently wakes you up in the middle of the night so you can play with her.

One of the only things that can make her sit still is when someone reads her fairy tales. She loves listening to stories of handsome princes saving their beautiful beloveds.

(And then of course she wants to play fairy tale, but at least there were a few minutes of peace!)

She is very clingy of the people she loves; at times TOO clingy. She’s working on it, though.

She can’t stand being overly cold, but as long as she’s got a warm dress and mittens, she loves playing outside.

You can try to keep her out of the chocolate. You can try… but you will be unsuccessful.
