I was thinking about Freya's design, yeah? And how inconsistent it’s been

Like she changes her outfits not just from chapter to chapter in c3 arc, but sometimes even from page to page

And I got to wondering if maybe that’s evidence of her instability and grief over the loss of her Eve?

But also I think it’s really funny that the first time we “meet” her she’s wearing some kind of blazer with no shirt, and I like to think that that was her trying to dress nicely for her first meet up with her siblings in a very long time, especially since Kuro was going to be there

Anyway this line of thought also led me to the visuals of the contract formation, and how when Iduna grants her a name, the wings of the Valkyrie explode from her back

Also her request for “that golden part of you” being phrased that way not just for dramatics but also because the mythological Freya was very well known for her love of gold

And THAT brought me to how The Mother is almost like a composite of both Freya and Odin in the same character, with her demon, while being a representation of a shura, also somewhat representing Odin with his flame covered eye, and how the flames of wrath are also found residing within another one eyed character, but in the opposite direction, Tsurugi offering his eye to Freya in a parallel of Odin plucking his eye from its socket in order to obtain infinite wisdom, and how Servamp rejects that sacrifice and implies that Odin himself made the wrong choice by having our wrathful characters consistently be people who are metaphorically blind to the suffering they are inflicting not just on others but themselves

Meanwhile, Shuuhei’s mother, who is physically blind, is also legitimately wise in a way these various “Odin” are not
