Not only are the Comedy Wildlife Photo Award winners all excellent, the banner announcements are glorious when taken out of context.
my favorite picture ever is the one that says “HELL IS FULL, BITCH” and then it has the national suicide prevention hotline on it. it makes me smile every time
I love This Post by @emilybeemartin about Boromir’s hypothetical head raccoon, but I especially love, “Epilogue: it ADORES Faramir”, because to me that implies a thrilling variety of options, many of which may overlap in explaining the epilogue:
Boromir’s ghost is straight-up possessing that raccoon now, hopefully consensually and cooperatively with the original raccoon spirit
Boromir spent every spare moment monologuing to the raccoon about how great his little brother is, and the raccoon understood him, and so already loved Faramir before even meeting him
The raccoon loved Boromir and misses him, and Faramir smells a little like him, so the raccoon loves Faramir
Boromir and Faramir have the same innate Disney Princess affinity for random woodland creatures, which is actually GREATER than Aragorn the Ranger’s
werewolves can be anything. they can be ANYTHING if you just believe. metaphor for trans. metaphor for gay. metaphor for autism. metaphor for disability. metaphor for anger issues. metaphor for generational trauma. metaphor for mental illness. metaphor for addiction. metaphor for wanting to kill someone. you can do anything with them truly
Watch this to learn how to put down toxic masculinity and internalized misogyny. As with “the kids these days are terrible” beginning circa prehistory (thanks Plato) this points to “men aren’t masculine anymore” and tracks it backward.
I keep saying nothing ever changes to those who know history.
