my favorite fic trope
Thank you to everyone who reblogged/replied to the last post, it means a lot to me! I'm still fairly busy but I wanted to get at least one more sketch for you guys, so here's a simple comic for the AU.
For some more context, despite "passing" after only a decade with Muzan, Kokushibo left a very lasting impression on him for the future. As the sole man who nursed Muzan back to health after fighting Yoriichi, as well as giving him exclusive information as an insider in the Corps, drafting strategies to dispose of Demon Slayers (especially Sun Breathing swordsmen), and possible locations to start searching for the blue spider lily, Muzan considers him the epitome of devotion and usefulness in a subordinate.
When Kokushibo reported seeing Yoriichi in a nearby town and then later disappeared that same week, Muzan was very uncomfortable with the feelings of loss and grief. As a result of his denial, he still claims the place of Upper Moon One is occupied for no one else to take, ever. He is confident that Kokushibo will come back eventually. Until then, he uses him as the measure of a good employee for the other moons, which can be frustrating for them.
Anyways, you might notice Upper Two and Upper Three are on slightly better terms. They aren't friends per se but they both started their climb up the ladder fairly close to each other in this story, as well as running missions together, so they hold a neutral stance on each other. As personable as Douma is, Akaza doesn't really interact with his coworkers, so Douma considers himself his one friend. They will occasionally have their spats but they're generally amicable.
I would write more but I think that will do ^^ feel free to ask about anything, I mostly have this AU on the backburner so there's a lot of scripted short events that I can cover, even if they aren't fully connected.
nightmare
I prefer not to sound harsh, but Miraculous has become a fandom where I find more enjoyment in reading fanfics than watching the show. It feels like there's a lack of effort or an attempt to justify and rearrange elements, often ignoring past seasons and assuming the audience won't notice. The handling of Derision is a notable example, with more astute critics than me delving into their dissatisfaction and the evident retcons.
I didn't anticipate the show going to such lengths as portraying Gabriel as someone deserving of a statue, and it left a sour taste in my mouth to see the hero endorsing it. Adrien/ChatNoir's portrayal has become quite pitiful, with a peculiar shift where Ladybug takes on a significant role in the Agreste Saga despite her absence from that narrative. Ladybug, who isn't even part of the Agreste Saga, is the one delivering heartfelt moments. The decision to sideline Adrien and put him out of commission is disappointing. It's his story yet she the one who has to make it about her. She gets to shine along with a cool costume to boot.
There's a palpable bias from Astruc against Chloe, evident in the show's treatment of her character. Despite her being manipulated by Gabriel Agreste, the narrative blames her for becoming mayor, and the absurdity of the situation is magnified when everyone in the story goes along with it. The inclusion of a scene in Revolution where Chloe is crying is perplexing and frustrating, as it seems to perpetuate the negative and irredeemable image the show consistently paints of her. The added layer of her mother being horrid to her intensifies my annoyance, especially when sympathetic scenes are presented in a seemingly contradictory manner.
I mean you want her to be the worst but yet she has scenes like this? Why not go all the way wtf. Why give her depth only to take it away and then make her be so demonized in s5 and act like she was like this from the start. When she's been a joke
I hate to be critical, but seriously, it's hard to ignore how the Miraculous universe is just dripping with untapped potential. Five seasons in, and the movie outshines the show effortlessly. It makes you wonder about the writers' team and their approach—seems like they're just coasting on low effort for profit, and somehow, it's working, thanks to Miraculous inexplicable popularity.
The show's been beating the monster-of-the-week horse for five long seasons, lacking any creativity in crafting interesting villains. Gabriel, honestly, feels like a starter villain, and if they're going to make him the big bad, can we at least get some villains with a bit more pizzazz? You know craft creative interesting villains? KNDS, Original PPG, Totally Spies they got it so why not Miraculous. It's so damn tiring seeing the same old song and dance with Gabriel 24/7 monologuing to his wife and releasing the akuma I thought Mayura would be important but she's barely there.
It's not even an excuse kids do deserve better entertainment so why should Miraculous lower its standards. Marinette is very weird to me as the protagonist because her lovelife is more focused over everything I gauged her well enough to know about her that the rest of the secondary needs more of a spotlight to be cast on them. I like her but am I the only one who just skips when she starts the whining about Adrien and her plan to again get together it was cute at first now I fast forward to the more interesting part of the episode because it irks me i'm tired okay... what other facet of her character do the writers focus on besides her love life? I hope I don't appear to salt on her but Imma tag it just in case. I think she's in neutral treading to dislike because how can I come back from her gaslighting her boyfriends I'm sorry I can't.
You know what I'm afraid of that if Lila gonna be the next big bad they'll just recycle everything from Gabriel onto her. We'll have the same akumatizations same monster of the week formula only this time it's Lila.
I trust more in the fanfic community to come up with a better substantial plot than Miraculous could ever be. I know romance is a big part but the lore is so damn little it's season 5 are they ever going to expand more in the later seasons lol.
I'm tired from writing this long. Imma go to bed now.
So I was looking around the bnha subreddit and found a forum asking who everyone's least favorite hero (besides endeavor because that would be too obvious). One comment talked about how uwabami wasted momo and itsukas potential, and one of the replies said this about momo:
live suchusoid reaction:
I'd tear this argument down myself, but I'm to tired and hungry, so I was wondering what your thoughts on this were.
Ugghhhh, it's 1 AM. I was gonna leave the rest of my asks for a more motivated me.
This has, officially, motivated me. For this ask specifically, the rest of y'all will have to wait.
So!
Momo's quirk is insanely powerful. Her quirk is creating objects out of her lipids, though the measure is never really clear.
She isn't even fazed by creating a canon. Which! By the way! A canon is roughly 600kg. Six. Hundred.
That is over 10 times her weight. And that isn't even the limit.
All we know is that she cannot create living organisms, but it's also not clear if this includes things such as bacteria. Because it's unclear, I'll only look at inanimate objects.
Momo is literally only held back by her creativity, and thus Horikoshi's creativity.
She's insanely powerful and versatile.
Oh, the villain has a fire quirk? Time to make a fite extinguisher!
Oh, the villain has a wood-based quirk? Time to make a flamethrower!
Oh, a civillian is bleeding out? Time to create a medkit!
Oh, someone's drowning? Time to make an oxygen tank!
Her quirk is only limited by what she knows and her ability to think on the fly. That is all. Because there is no known limit to how much she can make.
It isn't that her quirk isn't OP, it's that Horikoshi didn't allow Momo to use her quirk to her full capacity.
Like, against Tokoyami, she could have easily created flashbombs to weaken him, or a flamethrower to keep a consistent amount of light.
She could destroy Bakugou simply by creating gunpowder and throwing it at him - he'd blow himself up. Or making a hose and spraying him.
Most of all: she could make a gun. Like, it's so weird that so many mangakas forget that guns exist, because so many people in MHA could be beaten by a gun.
Momo has the ability to create anything she needs to beat her opponent. It's literally just her ability to adapt and her (or Horikoshi's) creativity.
Fucking– LOOK AT FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST!
Ed is far more limited in his alchemy than Momo is with her quirk, in that he can only transmute things if the cost is equivalent. But he's still far more creative than Momo is in the use of his abilities.
Heck, even Senkuu from Dr. Stone has more creativity than Momo, and he doesn't have any supernatural abilities.
Momo's quirk is OP, and she would be awful as plain fanservice.
I'm not against fanservice. Heck, I love both One Piece and Fairy Tail - fan service is not unwelcome. But, fan service should be done in moderation and some series just don't need it. Also, the context does matter.
Bringing up FMA again, the only fan service we get is from Lust who, shocker, is the personification of lust. Her entire being is lustful, so it makes complete sense for her to be fan service. But she also serves other purposes, and doesn't exist solely for fan service.
In MHA, it's fine to include fan service if it has a point.
Mount Lady is introduced via fan service to show how female heroines have to act in order to gain fame. Uwabami emphasises this, as does Midnight.
However, a theme that was (attempted to be) shown was 'Old vs New Generation'. All those heroines showcasing their fan service were part of the older generation, and the new one was supposed to change the status quo.
Momo and Kendou were both shown to be disgruntled at the idea of using their sexuality to gain fame, and were far more focused on actually becoming heroes and bettering their abilities.
To say that Momo should have only existed for fan service is completely missing the point and invalidating her character.
If anything, she should have been able to show skin without it being sexualised. In the same way male fan service was used to show strength, Momo (and other female characters) should have had fan service to show their strength, rather than being sexualised.
People like the person in that image frustrate me, because they have no idea what they're talking about.
"At best, a canon that doesn't move," NO!
At best, a fucking hydrogen bomb. She could create nuclear weapons. She could do so much, it's Horikoshi who limits her.
And I have another Amazing Digital Circus comic for the Cougar Macdowall VA Youtube channel!
This one was Cougar's idea. Of course he still made the mistake of letting me write it again.
Even Shinsou thought that Mineta should've been expelled. FREAKING SHINSOU!!!
Hi @anartisicandautisticstararcher 👋
Yeah at this point I don't know why mineta wasn't expelled from UA.
I still don't understand how teachers and people saw mineta's behaviour and simply said nothing. They just let it happen.
Like remember what he did to the girls in the Sports Festival by getting them to wear cheerleaders uniforms or what he done to momo in particular by literally attaching himself to her.
THIS IS ON LIVE TELEVISION!!?!?!?!
Aren't momos parents influential and rich why didn't they do something about this?
Heck, this isn't even something that he does once. NO, he does it multiple times.
Heck, mineta's pervy and inappropriate behaviour happen so often that there are literal YouTube video compilations of them reaching more than 5 minutes. For a side character who doesn't get much screentime for all of it to be centred around you, being a pathetic sexual harraser is absurd to me.
Also, let's not forget that this is the character that hori claims to be his self insert because he also describes himself to be a bit of a perv.
My TikTok fyp has been non stop with the jjk x Disney princesses, obvi my fav is Nanami x Tiana, these two just make sense 😍😍
Also I’ve been listening to promise by Laufey recently and been crying myself to sleep lol so that kinda inspired me lol
It was a quick process, I had to get it out, I finished at 2 am lol
Also tw on grammar mistakes lol I was tired and couldn’t bother changing lol
Alright, so I constantly talk about the MHA fandom’s inability to tell the difference between a head-canon and canon. Now I’ve gotta ask: what’s the worst head-canon you’ve seen from the MHA fandom?
For me, there’s two. First is one I’ve seen on a YouTube comment where someone said that Katsuki was Buddhist and was giving Katsuki sound advice when suicide baiting him. I really gotta find that image cause it was hilarious 😂. Second is when people turn Yui Kodai into someone hornier than Minoru. I have no idea what it is about Yui that causes people to make her so thirsty cause in canon she’s a quiet af person who doesn’t have a single moment of her lusting after someone 😭.
Kyojurou is the friend that gets adopted by the couple
Or he joins and also becomes part of the couple (Hakuji/Koyuki/Kyojurou supremacy)
If I see one more person ship tanjiro with an adult I am going to go violent and feral.
he is a child stop shipping him with literal ADULTS.
Doesn’t matter if you “aged” him up ( which is disgusting just to then ship him with an adult ) , he is still A FUCKING CHILD TF.
