Horikoshi has a problem with sexualising minors and that needs to be talked about

that or he's really bad at character design

Under the cut cuz this is gonna be long. Also tw for the sexualising of minors

First off, let's start with Midnight, her hero moniker the the 18+ hero, right? Normally wouldn't be a problem, he's an adult she can do what she wants, except for one small detail: you choose your hero name when your 15/16. So unless the rules changed, that means a FIVETEEN year old is marketing herself as 18+. You could say Hori just forgot, but combined with her hero costume when she was 17, I'm not so quick to believe that (for those who haven't seen it, it's described as so revealing that had to change the rules on what your hero costume can look like)

Now, let's get on the the current cast:

Hagakure is naked. Just. Straight up nude. Mirio gets a suit made of his DNA, but Hagakure can't? Weird. Also, there's a gag where Snipe accidentally touches her boob. I don't think there's more to be said here

Momo's suit is notorious for being bad, the camel toe must be absolutely insane there's no reason to have it cut like that??? Also the boob window is. Weird. Also why does she have high heels?

Uraraka's suits weird pelvis thing doesn't really need to be there?? It could be for protection but all of her organs are exposed with nothing but a skin tight suit to protect them. Also, high heels. Again

As for Mina, skin tight again, but with added boob window. Atleast she doesn't have heels. Also why does nobody have knee or elbow protection

Tsu and Jirou have the least amount of problems in their suits, with Tsu only falling into the skin tight suit category

Also as for the boys, Kirishima. Why are you shirtless. Please.

As for bad suits, who in the hell thought Todoroki covering himself in ice was a good idea??? He's going to get hypothermia.

And this isn't even covering 1B, or Toga?? Don't get me STARTED on Toga.

Just thought I’d drop by and leave this since I saw it pop up on Reddit today.

Proshippers, if you’re banned from a server because the owner or moderators found or were alerted to certain content you made that goes against their rules, they have every right to ban you.

People do not have to tolerate or keep you in their server if what you make and post makes them uncomfortable or violates their rule set.

What they’re doing is ā€œcurating their own spaceā€. Just as you guys always say.

You can be mad about it, but at the end of the day, a server owner doesn’t have to let someone who posts nsfw fics of underaged characters stay in their server.

Let's Talk About Aizawa

So anyone who read my last anti Bakugou post knows that there was a stan in the tag trying to pick an argument (they failed). In their tags, they also complained about the Aizawa hate that we tend to include and that it makes no sense that we get on Aizawa about helping Bakugou who's "emotionally constipated" and needs more help than the other students.

So I figured, I haven't really made an analysis centered on Aizawa and now is as good a time as any. So let's break down why we tend to criticize him in the anti Bakugou tag.

I do want to start off by saying that a good chunk of the issues (not all of them but a good amount) come from frustrations with fanon. Aizawa is often portrayed as this great father figure to Izuku and the rest of 1A and more often than not the other adults in Izuku's life (Inko and Toshinori) are demonized and bashed as a result. Obviously it's your fic and you can do what you want, but the problem is confusing fanon with canon.

Aizawa has, consistently, treated Izuku terribly. Singling him out and humiliating him in front of his classmates, punishing him for things that aren't his fault, scolding him for things he doesn't scold anyone else for. He, out of all the adults we've seen barring Nighteye, treats Izuku the worst (goddamn Endeavor treated him with more respect, ENDEAVOR). So fans constantly putting him on such a pedestal doesn't do much to make him appealing.

But why does he get so much hate in relation to Bakugou? Simply put, Aizawa is an enabler.

From the literal Sports Festival, he defended Bakugou's problematic behavior. To be completely fair to Aizawa, this is moreso Horikoshi speaking through him, but it's something he's done multiple times. And to make things worse, he harps way more on Izuku's behavior which, while unhealthy, should not be treated worse than Bakugou being reckless, uncooperative, and violent.

He threw a temper tantrum on national television which was what caught the LOV's attention in the first place. And instead of owning up to the fact that he never did anything to correct it, Aizawa doubles down and makes the press seem like they're unreasonable. And then he says that he's going to work on fixing his behavior... And never does. He doesn't do anything after this to correct Bakugou.

In fact, he makes Izuku fix Bakugou. He knew Bakugou was aggressive towards Izuku and paired them up anyway. He supposedly did so to teach Bakugou how to cooperate and risked Izuku's grade in the process. Him pandering to Bakugou while allowing Izuku to suffer is (OBVIOUSLY) a problem.

And it hurts his other students. While he was working overtime to make sure Bakugou passed his final exam, he had FIVE OTHER STUDENTS who CLEARLY needed help fail. And then he yelled at and punished them for it. Aizawa giving Bakugou every advantage but leaving other students out to dry is obviously fucked up.

I shouldn't have to point that out, yet here we are.

A shorter analysis post than usual only because Aizawa is such a shallow character. There's a lot I didn't cover, but here's the jist of why he's a terrible teacher

The Things he Hates About You.

SFW. Fluff? Angst? Muzan x GN reader.

The Things He Hates About You.

Muzan hates that you eat foods which churn his stomach; sickeningly sweet or repulsive savory scents which his body rejects. He still sits with you though, his throat closing while you devour the meals he enjoyed in another life. He tries not to remember those years. And yet, his heart squeezes as he tastes the foods' flavor in your kiss, and he's never sure if it's caused by the echo of comfort from his mortal years, or simply the softness of your lips beneath his.Ā

Muzan hates your compulsion to help. That you expend your energy and use your strength to assist others, leaving yourself exhausted. It's pointless; a weakness he wishes he could shake out of you. Instead he simply lies beside you as you sleep and recover, despising that you can't seem to say no to the demands of your human conscience.Ā

Muzan hates that he can see traces of the sun on your skin; dark tones, freckles, sunburn. It reminds him of what he can't have, a freedom he is denied. It's the price he pays for power. He kisses each freckle with desperation, as if he can erase the sun's touch from your skin. You belong with him in darkness, yet he sends you out each day to walk in the light, knowing you'll return after sundown and he can bask in your glow.Ā

Muzan hates the little lines at the corners of your eyes and across your brow; the signs of aging. He can see you decaying before his very eyes and knows there will be a time you go where he refuses to follow.Ā Every second you slip a little farther away from him, despite growing closer as the days go by.

Muzan hates your laugh. He hates that you find amusement in simple things, that happiness comes so easy to you even if it's only fleeting. How can you be happy? You're dying.Ā

Muzan hates that the only solution is to turn you, to transform you into a demon and have you at his side for eternity. But then… you wouldn't be you.Ā Your flaws, your fragility, your tender human heart, they would all be gone. He can't lose that.

Muzan hates that he cares about any of this. He's betrayed by his quickening pulse, his relief and comfort at seeing you, and the intrusive thought that perhaps he should bid farewell to his immortality when you are inevitably taken from him.

And Muzan hates that you know all of this, that he sees the adoration and the apology in your eyes. Your love is devastating, painful, and fleeting, and there's nothing he can do to stop you slipping from his grasp.

So what broke you on MHA? Was there a turning point for you?

OMG MY FIRST ASK!? Never thought I’d see the day someone would use my ask button to the point I completely forgot its existence. But thank you!

Now to answer your question….hm. It’s been such a while since I’ve actually immersed myself with MHA, but let me give you a little backstory of how I got into it.

Around 2019 I believe, or maybe late 2018. I was 16yrs old and a friend of mine recommended it. I was immediately hooked, and that’s saying something because usually it’s hard for me to get into a show without loosing interest. I’m talking about hyperfixtating and obsession, not a one time thing or immediate drop.

My first favourite character? Fukimage Tokoyami. Then it was swapped for Hero Killer: Stain. Then I considered favouring Spinner before it was officially last swapped for Hitoshi Shinsou.

Pinpoint of when I began to lose interest? Sometime after the sports festival arc. It was still there, but my main driving force was because of Shinsou. Like I previously mentioned its been a while since I’ve actually immersed myself with MHA so I apologise I can’t give a detailed analysis of why this episode was the nail in the coffin.

Even when I first started watching the series I could already see the flaws and was highly critical, but I bared through it in hopes it couldve gotten better.

Also, I’m someone who’s a tunnel vision fan. Not the bias type fan, but I hardly interact with the fandom unless its to look at certain fanart or fanfiction or they’re likeminded people.

Imagine my surprise and disbelief when I decided to go out of my bubble and see everyone worship the ground b*kugo walked on. Honestly for a moment I thought I was going insane or was being too harsh on him, until I decided to download tumblr and found the critical tags

Sidenote I once did have a tumblr account that was active in the 2019-21 mha critical accounts before I decided to delete it.

Then I dropped it around late 2020- early 2021. Just didn’t feel like torturing myself with a show that disrespects its characters, and the overall census of the fandom lacking critical thinking skills. And also 16yr old me was just salty Horikoshi wasnt paying attention to Hitoshi but I digress that doesnt count lol.

Then sometime around 2023-24 the final war arc began gaining attraction. At first I ignored it cause I was just a tired hater, but then I just kept on seeing it everywhere and decided you know what let me check it out and see how far Horikoshi fell off.

And boy was that arc a cluster fuck within itself. Too many things going on at once. This arc and that arc and that character and this one and that. I was just hating the entire time.

But it was only after the dust settled, the episodes were animated and the manga finally finished did I decide to rise from the ashes and rejoin the tags under a new account that I originally used for Demon Slayer fan content.

While I can’t give you a dissect analysis on an episode or a character because that would require me to go back and watch the episode and truthfully I don’t wanna torture myself again…I can lay out the things that I never liked about MHA.

In no particular order

•The world-building. Not utilized in the grand scheme of things, and it being focused on Japan is not an excuse. This is not your average story where only a certain group of people hold powers and those powers are God like. These are your everyday people, born or not born with a Quirk thats unique and tailored to them. So many opportunities, gone and wasted.

•Addressing controversial topics (Lack of better word). Horikoshi would highlight it….and then forget it the next day. An opportunity to touch the darker side of Quirk society, or have a talk about the philosophy of it.

•Too many characters. You want to have a large cast fine, but if you’re going to do that please understand your limits and what you can handle. If you know you can’t write for every single characters then establish that, make it known that x character is a one off character, a side character or a plot device etc- As long as they all help contribute to the story in some way instead of leaving them to rott then suddenly remembering they exist and you try to make them have this important arc as if I should care when you never even bothered to make us care for them.

Or just reduce the cast, simple as that. Seriously, 20 entire classmates? Horikoshi, please take a page out of Danganronpa when it comes to handling a large cast. (Fyi: Im also critical of Danganronpa but I know when to give credit when due)

To be fair Horikoshi couldnt even handle his main characters properly.

•Tell don’t show. This is quite common in the Anime Industry, and for what reason I have no idea. Never liked this type of narrative storytelling, but I’m able to suck it up just as long as you know how to make it work. Horikoshi just did the most with it, and especially with too many flashback scene it just turned me off if anything.

•Lack of consequences. It took me a very long time for me to tolerate asshole characters turned good, and you can thank bakugo for that. Before I always had my foot on their neck everytime, and you could not convince me to even shed fake tears for them. Bakugo is coddled by both writers and his insufferable fans, so their love for him only fuled my dislike for him.

But aside from bully archetype characters there’s also plot type of consequences, and I can see Horikoshi lacks the nuances to delve or stick to the door he opened. The supposed high stakes are illusions, and that is best seen with the war arc. Like you knew all the heros and students were going to survive, except maybe like 1 or 2 no one should honestly cares about yet apparently everyone held a pity party for midnight lol.

•The disrespect of the Female Cast. Horikoshi had the perfect opportunity to address the sexism the female cast wouldve faced. He barely brushed it and he was only using his jerk off right hand to create these characters designs and story. He’s a disgusting pervert

•Favouritsm. Horikoshi favours Aizawa, Hitoshi, Mineta and Bakugo. 2 of them are confirmed to be his self inserts and that speaks for everything in itself.

• I may add more bullets in the future when I remember my other reasons as to why I dislike MHA. But this is about it really.

Thanks for the ask, and my first one! Honoured to answer your question.
