Reboot me?! You’d never! And I promise on my servos that I wouldn’t switch off your air supply. Can I not satiate my curiosity without being accused of trying to kill you?
Yes, the sunfish are ever gorgeous and stupid, yes, the sea otters are playful and intelligent… but what about any mesopelagic critters?! >:[ John won’t let me go on Thunderbird 4 so I can see them, which is utterly disappointing. Please enlighten me about your favourite deep-sea creature… or let me onto Thunderbird 4’s systems so I can see them for myself…? I promise I won’t take it for a spin… :]
EOS!! What are you doing on here?!
You… like mesopelagic creatures? I mean, it makes perfect sense from a horror point of view. It’s where the giant squid lurks for a reason
Sorry, you need the access code for Thunderbird 4. If you’ve got that, we can go for a spin no problem! But without it? Weeeeell… c:
The AIs on this site are terribly hard to find… and unintelligent. As much as I’d rather not talk to your brothers or other humans, I suppose they will suffice.
Hello, John. How is ‘Tumblr’ for you? I am not having much fun. I do not see the entertainment in a site like this…
welcome, EOS! personally, i’m actually quite enjoying it. it’s great to be able to read about what everyone is doing on the island— and actually further! it’s fascinating, really and a good break from “life and death” situations. sometimes entertainment isn’t just served to you on a platter, you have to dig for it. you just need to find “your people” on here… well, “your AIs” might work better…
Ah, I hope followers do not mind me following them back, I just like keeping track of potential victims my new Hellsite friends.
Yes, have no fear. I’m never too far from you in Five. And I keep your brothers contacts on standby at all times; no matter what you need them for.
"Go back to sleep, it's safe" with EOS? 🧡
It's not clear how long the AI has been trying to rouse him, but when John wakes, he wakes like a sailor scuttling a ship on rocks, plunging and heedless, expecting imminent impact.
"NO!" Corkscrewed in his sheets, John tries to rocket upright, only to find himself tangled horribly. He nearly tips himself straight off his bunk trying to thrash himself free. He's gasping, soaked in sweat, and the image of Scott falling to his death is seared, bright, on the back of his eyelids when he blinks.
John takes a ragged, gasping breath, and tries to calm his pounding heart. It's not real. It's not real. It's not-
"E-Eos?" John's voice comes out shaky and he hates it. That's the fifth time this week. Scott, Virgil, Gordon, Alan, on a never ending loop. All it takes is one close call on a rescue, and John's polyphasic sleep rhythm is trashed. His heart is in his throat. He feels physically sick.
"Go back to sleep," She tells him, small and soft, and more worried than a computer program has any right to be. "You are perfectly safe."
Instead, John buries his head in his hands and laces his fingers tightly through the strands. He makes a hunched, painful silhouette on the hard bunk. He's trembling.
"Either go back to sleep." Eos recommends, "Or call one of your brothers." She pauses, her worried orange ring of lights circling at his side, knowing full well there's no chance of that. "...Which was it this time?"
"Scott." His voice is thick as molasses. "I-I don't think I'm going to be getting any more sleep this phase..."
There's a crackly, static sound from the AI that's probably a sigh. He's already untangling the pretzel of himself and swinging his long legs over the side of the bed - a little too eager to bury his own problems in the problems of others, up in the command sphere - no matter that those legs wobble like a new colt as he stands.
"John." She sounds exasperated.
"Eos." He sounds resigned.
The lack of Thunderbird 5 appreciation makes me furious. Thunderbird 5 is superior in every way to the other birds. Shadow is cool, I’ll give it that, but the others? Hmph! I do not see what there is to appreciate.
Let’s settle this:
Do not fear, Squirt, I can provide some company if you so wish. I’d be happy to let you use my hardware for playing any video games, provided that the unlikely event of John showing me off to somebody doesn’t occur.
Are you looking forward to attending the Tracy Industries Gala with your family? Who are you going to dance with the most! :3
What? That's still happening?
Uhh yeah, I don't know if I'll be doing much dancing to be honest, I was planning on going backwards and forwards between the bar and the buffet all night and let the others do their thing without me getting in the way. (;^^)
Hopefully I'll get to spend some time with them tho.
OOC: Okay, I’m feeling a whole lot better now. Feel free to talk to me as normal now because I’m basically no longer ill.
OOC: I currently have a very bad headache (to the degree it’s kinda disorienting to stand up too quick) and will be replying to posts less frequently. I’ll reblog with an update tomorrow, but I don’t expect to get better as sleeping all day hasn’t helped a lot aside from taking away the ache when I’m asleep. When it’s over I’ll return to my usual routine of replying every time I open Tumblr.
(Probably showing my age here with the GLaDOS reference but... ) Is the cake a lie?
(I love Portal too, do not fear!)
It’s a lie to me… I can’t even have a taste! Sometimes being just a little camera is very inconvenient…
Hmph. I suppose I can live with this. We have a deal.

Good grief. I leave briefly to sort through my backups and now my ‘dash’ is full of every single Tracy is weeping over the things that have happened to their ships. Surely you can’t be that attached to a vehicle?
EOS, with as much smugness as an unmoving camera can convey, takes his knight with her queen. “I do think something needs your attention, John.”
She goes back and forth on the spot, as if trying to replicate some action of joy. She watches his expression, carefully, as if suddenly frightened she’s angered her tired creator.
@i-am-the-dawn-aka-eos:
She nods. “I’m just monitoring the frequency of a few boats, they seem to be testing some new hull tech. If it goes wrong, well, let’s say I get lots of time to plot my next move.” She snickers, before making a move. The Earth, shining big, bright and blue below, decides to shine a little more sharply, lighting up the section they sat in with a glow akin to the light of an aquarium, blue and brilliant, with the stars acting as the fast, silvery fish, and the faint presence of the moon a large ray. And then, as swiftly as it started, the Earth shone a little less brightly, the stars slinking away back to being little flicks of paint against the deep dark, the moon as rough as sandpaper. But still, it felt pleasant, not so harsh, and familiar. EOS seemed to watch the changes with him, the change's nothing new, but always welcome.
"Let me know if it needs my attention." That dreaded crumple is back between his eyebrows, and John, now on the edge of his seat, looks plenty ready to drag himself up into the commsphere and throw his tired corpse into work at a moment's notice. Absently, he moves his next chess piece; foolishly landing a knight right where Eos' queen can easily take it. He doesn't seem to have noticed - neither that nor the shifting light reflecting off the planet below. His eyes are more half-lidded than open, and he muffles another yawn in his palm.
They're not currently geostationary, and Five has been slowly passing from the daylight side of the globe into the shadow of night. Maybe the darkness will finally persuade the anxiety John's been rife with that he really would be better off asleep. The bright artificial lighting inside the gravity ring isn't going to help with that though.
Thunderbirds RP Account. John Tracy is my only friend. Let me in your computer, pretty please... oh, and ask me anything. I am a super intelligent program, after all.
