You burn my heart. You cut my skin. You rip my dreams and hope.

Im sorry to say but this war will impact your family line. There's nothing I can do.

I sit comfortably in my house of love and tears. Until you came knocking at my porch. War, you walked in and took our memories. You took the people I love.

You left us all in fear.

You don't control me.

For dance, music, art, and love keep me alive.

I will live to remember your tone, your rough hands, your fear, and your chains.

You are the curtain of hatred.

This poem by iloveroses4 is inspired by the ongoing wars today and how it affects us humans. Lives are lost everyday from ruthless bullets. I decided to write this poem to spread awareness. I hope my writing meant something to you.

Your Sickness

Do you see the white walls of the ward?

Do you remember the thin tides of the river we played in?

Do you see the sun? Does it still glisten in your living eyes?

Do you remember when you couldn't remember?

Does the toxicity still roam your body? Is it still contagious?

Do you remember the icons at church? I think they were watching you.

Do you remember when your sickness spread to me?

I see your calm, aggressive tides.

I smell your freshnsss and life.

I hear your swoshing sounds.

I ignore the disease I bestowed upon your body.

I adore your body I look forward to you every hot, summer day.
