Jan 25th - Happy birthday to 2 true greats of sci-fi manga, Shotaro Ishinomori and Leiji Matsumoto! Both born on January 25, 1938. While Ishinomori passed away in 1998, he would be 83 today alongside Matsumoto.

I would go with Mazinger Z. Since it was the first mecha series to having a cockpit,being pilot by humans and first female character to pilot a giant robot.

What IMO are the most importat/innovative series of the mecha genre:

* Mazinger Z

* Getter Robo

* Gundam

* Macross

* Evangelion

I ok with this I still love theses guy as much as a mii costume. They wanted a well know character in smash than a obscure character.

I don't know why this keeps happening, but I'm also not complaining.
