Imagine this:

Lucien is still alive when the Hero arrives at Applewatch. Imagine him hanging there, flayed and torn to pieces, seeing through blurry bloodshed eyes his Silencer storming in with evidence proving his innocence in their hands. Imagine him wanting to smile despite the agonizing pain, despite literally missing half of his face. Imagine him taking his last breaths feeling proud of his loyal Silencer, who, by the looks on their face, hurried to Applewatch like it was their life on the line and not his. Imagine him slipping into darkness as Sithis’s cold grip drags him into the Void and yet feeling triumphant over the Black Hand as the last thing he sees is the horror in Mathieu Belamont’s eyes. Lucien dies feeling avenged, knowing that the Traitor’s punishment will be much more worse than his. He dies knowing that even though his dear Silencer didn’t make it in time, they were on his side till the very end.

Why So Much Salt?!

So this might actually be a controversial post since so many people in the Miraculous Ladybug fandom love salt and hating on the creators, but I think the fandom has crossed the line.

It seems like every episode I see so many post hating on the writing and characters and ultimately there is always a post coming at Thomas Astruc himself. Mind you, a lot of these post are brutal and show literal hate to the author of the show for little details here and there that people don’t really like, no matter how opinion based these issues are.

I don’t understand how all these basic manners the fandom excels at when it comes to fan writings and fan art are all thrown out the window when someone manages to have their original ideas actually publicized. When it comes to fan written work, if people don’t like it, they just ignore it and don’t write hateful things in the comment section. If they enjoy most of it, but have a few places here and there they don’t care for, they still usually like the work and make nice comments. However, when it comes to Thomas, or any other publized creator for that matter, because I feel like this does not just happen with MLB, people feel free to spew their hate on the smallest little details instead of just commenting on what they like or enjoyed about the episode. Thomas gets direct hate thrown at him for people’s opinion on little details all the time.

Look, at the end of the day, this is Thomas’ show, and these are his characters. This is his original story, his original world, and his original project. He got the funding to make his original idea come to life and people of all ages all over around the globe have loved it! Even if you think your fan fictions, one-shots, or AUs are better than the actual show, they would not exist without Thomas and his original idea. Even if you think you can write the characters better, they are his characters, and not yours. We can have fun using the characters and the universe he created, and we can add some of our own originality by coming up with AUs or adding changes to characters, but at the end of the day, the original story is his, and he can do what he wants with it. We as a fandom should respect him like we would fellow tumblr writers in the sense that even if we do not like his work, we just ignore it, and move on, because it’s not our baby, it’s his. If you do not like the actual show, feel free to stop watching it and only consume fan fiction based off of his idea. That way, people who enjoy the show do not have to deal with seeing hateful comments after every episode from people who should have stopped watching long ago if they really feel the way they say.

cringe culture

so i used to be apart of the cringe culture. i only did because i was part of the 'cringy' fandoms like fnaf and undertale, even mlp and minecraft. i was like 9, just got a phone. i was gullible and followed the mainstream ideas. even now it's still stuck with me. i used to bully people because their art was bad or if they liked something. i remember i even went after a 7 year old, and now i wish i could take it back. i knew what i was doing; i was just desperate to have friends. it's hard to get over such a toxic mindset. a majority of people who participate in cringe culture are teens and kids who want to be liked. the only cringy things are toxic fans, those who attack others for differing opinions. i did that shit too. i now am hopefully getting over that phase of hatred. i now love shit like miraculous, minecraft, minecraft story mode, warriors, all that stuff. this stuff helps people get through things. i personally got through a lot of stuff because of minecraft and miraculous. moral of the story, like what you want, don't listen to what others think of it. just don't be toxic either. i understand i still have this mindset and as long as you recognize what's wrong and try to change that's great!! let people make ocs, let them make rainbow ponies. you can critique, but not criticize. love urself!!

Reminders for the ML Fandom

The kids in this show are currently 14-15 years old.

This show’s target audience are children who are younger than the characters. So, not you, not me, not any user that should be using tumblr.

There are MULTIPLE seasons left. Stop acting as if the show ends at the end of this season whenever something happens.

Writing isn’t bad just because you have a problem with something that a character says or does.

Marinette and Adrien are Yin and Yang, and as Master Fu has even said, “they’re made for each other”. Which means endgame. It’s been foreshadowed since S1, how can you possibly think otherwise?

Take a breath. If the show itself is continuing to cause you so much stress and salt (two things that are really bad for your health) then maybe it’s time to take a step back from it.

You remember what it’s like being a teenager, right? As a teen, we would do dumb stuff. We were nervous and scared and anxious around our crushes and the thought of them knowing how we feel is, like, the scariest thing in the world. Most likely you’re an adult now and you don’t feel this way, or at least much, anymore. So you’re projecting your current self onto the characters and expecting them to react how you would. But they’re not you! They’re like 14 year old you. Not that much time should’ve passed that you can’t remember yourself, or your friends, or your siblings and how you or they were like at that age. That being said, kids are supposed to be relating and learning from this. Stop acting like its existence is to please you specifically, because it’s not. Whenever an event happens, like Chat finding out Ladybug loves someone else, or Marinette finding out Adrien loves someone else, or Luka/Kagami coming into the picture, everyone loses their minds and starts assuming the worst and voicing those opinions and feelings like it’s fact. This is a multi-season show that could very well have more seasons than even the creators themselves know about at this point in time. When have you ever watched a multi-season show where what was going on in the beginning is still is mega prevalent and really the only thing going at the end? Relax, there’s plenty of time for things to be worked out and for new issues to arise. Marinette or Adrien could tell the other one that they hate their guts and I can guarantee that they would be feeling just about the opposite by the end of this show. A lot can change in a short amount of time! I mean, have you ever watched an Asian drama? So you don’t like that Alya didn’t stick up for Marinette in Chameleon and ignored her claim about Lila because she thought she was being jealous, or that Kagami isn’t what you envisioned in your mind after seeing her briefly in Riposte, or that Marinette’s always had the tendency to be obsessive about Adrien and do crazy and embarrassing things when it comes to him too. I totally get all that. Having a preconceived notion about a character that’s just been introduced to be wrong when you start actually getting to know them, or you’ve only seen part of what they’re like and they do something you don’t like, is no reason to claim bad writing. I’ve seen bad writing from shows from all over the world my entire life, and this isn’t it. You know the ones, the ones that make you just want to hit your head on something to put yourself out of your misery when the characters have a conversation for five minutes. If this show’s writing was so bad like tumblr users like to keep saying, it wouldn’t be mega popular like it is to the point where a majority of people have at least heard of or seen something from the show. There’s always room for improvement, of course, but not agreeing with some things doesn’t equal bad writing.

Yin and Yang. Extremely obvious that they’re both alike and very different at the same time, that they compliment each other both when they’re around one another, and also when they’re not, but going through similar things at around the same time. The parallels emphasize this all the time. This is a story about characters growing up, learning, changing, and experiencing life - with the add-on responsibility of saving Paris (and later, the rest of the world) from danger. We’d have no story if by season 2, Marinette and Adrien were dating and everything went happily for the rest of the show. That’s not how life works. One mishap, one misunderstanding, one new crush, that’s not going to change the outcome of these two but in a more natural and positive way. I honestly don’t understand why anyone who no longer finds joy in something would continue sticking to it, if that applies to some users who find the need to post constant salt. It’s okay to be frustrated at times, but it’s not if it’s a common thing. That’s just unhealthy. You may say you have the right to post it, but people also have the right to ask you not to, as this is a community that’s dedicated to the love for something. Because while you may not like the show, or be able to stand how it’s progressing anymore, there are a lot of us that still do, and always will, and all the salt just brings everybody down. We would like to share our thoughts and feelings about what the show is - not always have to read salt about what it isn’t.
