i did a sort of continuation here, but i am MORE than glad to do more of this lil au. this got. a lot longer than i thought it would. but maybe they Did know each other. just a little.

Ice King (Adventure Time)

Dating the Ice King was... odd, to say the least. He was hard to be with at first. He was clingy. He was manic. He could be a little aggressive- not dangerous, just cranky- if you ended up ignoring him for too long; too long being subjective to his needs that day. He was unbelievably frustrating.

But at the same time... he was, strangely, the nicest guy you've ever dated. He'd get cranky, but once he saw you weren't leaving him he didn't push you. He was clingy, but it was because he was lonely. He was manic, but you knew it wasn't his fault. He brought you gifts ranging from flowers to gems to even making ice sculptures in your likeness. It was flattering.

He had made a little ice elevator to get you into the castle easier, when you visited. And by Glob he was always delighted to see you. Every time he heard the elevator chugging its' way up the mountain, you could hear him.

"Gunther they're coming- is there anything in my beard?" he'd ask, followed by a little "wenk". You'd come up just in time to see the little penguin pecking something out of his master's beard. Then Gunther would waddle over to you, making Ice King screech in surprise and try to rub whatever food was in his beard out. You bit back a snort as you picked up your favorite little guy.

"You look fine, IK, calm down," you laughed. He grumbled, flustered and fixing his crown. You grinned as you set the penguin down. You gave him a hug in greeting, and as always he was a little tense before returning it tightly.

"So, what'd you wanna show me?" He had asked you to come over cause he found something "wicked sweet". That seemed to click the lightbulb on.

"Oh yeah! C'mon, sweet thang," he laughed as he yoinked you up like you weight nothing. You yelled in surprise, holding onto him as he flew through the castle. You couldn't help but laugh as well, enjoying the short flight.

"This is my "the past" room- you are the ONLY person aside from Gunther I've let in here," he explained as he set you down. You looked around at all the old stuff in awe, recognizing a lot of it immediately from your time period. You heard him fiddle with some things as you picked through the items.

The old suit jacket he'd give you to wear when you were cold- which you immediately put on as per usual. Some old books- a few of which were written by a Simon.... Petrikov. That sounded familiar...

Then it clicked. You used to live just down the street from him. You used to attend the same book club together, before he stopped coming due to his research. You remember him showing off a book he had gotten published to the group before he stopped joining as often. You'd make him food and check in on him, when Betty couldn't.

"Where is that damn thing?" you heard Ice King mutter. You looked at the jacket you were wearing, turning the book over. A picture of Simon, wearing the exact same jacket.

While your boyfriend was busy, you sifted through the junk pile. Newspaper clippings covered in mad scrawling that spelled out pleas for help and forgiveness. Multiple pictures of Simon and letters written by him to various people. A picture of a young, but now familiar, girl with writing on the back. You stared at another newspaper clipping, a ball of ice in your stomach unrelated to the cold of the ice kingdom. Simon stood next to a sickeningly familiar crown that sat upon a cushion, smiling as wide as can be at his discovery.

A familiar jingle jolted you out of your thoughts and you dropped the article. You whipped around to see Ice King standing next to a cracked tv that was now playing Cheers. He waved his hands in a "tada" motion.

"I got a bunch of old junk from WAAAAY back in the day, so I thought you'd like a little marathon! I can go make popcorn," he offered with a grin. Your mouth hung open as your eyes darted from him to the old tv show. You tried to speak, but all that came out was a soft sobbing noise as realization set in. Immediately, his face fell.

"Oh- What, do you not like this show? I can, uh... I'm sure I got something-!" You cut him off by nearly tackling him in a hug. You held him so tight, knuckles turning white as you gripped the fabric of his robe. Your knees felt weak, giving out and making him drop to the floor with you.

"M... Man, if I knew you liked the show this much, I'd have done this sooner," he tried to joke, not really understanding why you were crying. Thankfully, he just held you and scooted around so you both could see the tv. Not that you really watched it, being too busy reeling from your newfound knowledge.

Gunther, sweet as can be, brought in popcorn and plopped his little self in your lap. You could use the extra comfort. You felt Ice King's hand run up and down your back, and new he was taking glances at you to see if you were alright. For his sake, you pretended to watch the show and forced down some popcorn. He seemed to relax a little, thinking you were fine. You were anything but. However...

Honestly I just wanna give all my love to Spinel, so if it's not too much how about a Spinel x fem!reader where she makes sure Spinel is happier than usual for the entire day, she does little things like making her breakfast etc ;") maybe it's like the anniversary of Spinel becoming good again or some other (more creative) reason you can come up with :D

This was so much stinking fun to write, I hope you like it!

When Spinel woke up that morning she was alone. For a split second she panicked. She had woken open alone before, it wasn’t something new, but she still had those moments. Thankfully, she had gotten better at handling it and the panic only lasted that one second. She could hear the noises coming from the kitchen, the clanging of pots and pans mixed with your soft footsteps and quiet singing.

She sighed, snuggling deeper into the blankets and happily listened to you sing. To her, your singing was the most beautiful sound in the galaxy, nothing could compare. It relaxed every muscle in her body, no matter how tense she was, and always made her hum happily. 

She quietly groaned in disappointment when the singing stopped, dragging the blanket over her head. She listened to the soft footsteps as they approached the bedroom and the groan of the door as it was opened. 

She peaked out of her blanket pile, smiling up at your face brightly. You smiled back, giggling and crawling back into bed, cuddling close to the gem. She wrapped her arms around you over and over, holding you tight and humming happily. 

“Morning, love.” You chimed, giving her a peck on the lips. Her face heated up and her smile widened. She never would get used to your kisses. She would blush every time and get these cute little hearts in her eyes. It made you giggle.

“Morning, Doll. What’ve you been up to?” She purred, nuzzling into your neck. 

“Just making breakfast. It’s your favorite!” You said that last part in a sing-song voice.

Spinel gasped, pulling away from you to look into your face.

“Chocolate chip pancakes?! You never make those!”

You giggled at her expression, giving her another kiss.

“Today’s a special day!”

Now Spinel was just confused, frowning thoughtfully at you.

“It is?”

“Yep!” you chimed happily. 

“Why?”

You shook your head. 

“I’m not telling you, you have to guess! If you do, you get a prize!”

Spinel hummed thoughtfully, smirking at you, eyes sparkling at the prospect of a game. 

“Oh really? How long do I got?”

“Till the end of the day.”

“Well… It’s not our anniversary….”

“Nope!”

“It’s definitely not your birthday. I’d never forget that!” 

She hummed thoughtfully again, looking rather perplexed. She couldn’t for the life of her figure it out! As far as she could tell, it was just another ordinary day.

“Maybe some pancakes will help you think.” You suggested and she smiled, letting you drag her out of the bed and into the kitchen for some breakfast. It was there that you told her you’d be going out for the day. You both decided to go to Funland and the arcade.

You spent all day doing whatever Spinel felt like, indulging her every random impulse. Did she want to jump into the ocean? You jumped with her, laughing together when you bobbed to the surface. Did she want to eat a pound or two of funnel cake? You bought it for her. Did she want to play that one arcade game fifty or a hundred or two hundred times in a row? You cheered her on, exploding with excitement every time she beat her own high score. 

By the end of the day, there was only one more thing she wanted to do.

“Walk with me?”

And you did, the gem clinging onto your arm as the two of you wandered down the boardwalk, watching the lights as they glimmered like stars and reflecting off the gentle ocean below. The night was filled with the warmth of the summer day, the orange lights, and the body pressed close to yours. You had to admit, this was probably your favorite thing you’ve done all day. Nothing compared to the sparkle of the lights in Spinel’s eyes, the warm smile on her face, the way her gem shimmered. She had to be the most beautiful being in the universe.

You stopped in the middle of the boardwalk, both leaning against the railing to look out over the ocean. When you looked at Spinel again, she was staring at you, hearts in her eyes and a dopey smile on her face. You felt your face heat up and smiled sweetly at her.

“Did ya have a good day, sweetheart?”

Spinel hummed, snuggling closer to you and sighing.

“Sure did, Toots, the best day. There’s just one thing I still don’t get …” She looked at you, confusion clear on her face. “I still can’t for the life of me figure out why. What’s today?”

You smiled softly at her, then looked back out over the ocean. You could feel the gem’s eyes on you, not wavering for a second. 

“It was a trick. There’s no way you can know about today. Sorry, love…”

Spinel huffed at that, poking your cheek and making you giggle.

“No fair!” She whined. “You cheated! Now you Have to tell me!”

“I know, love.” You were silent for a second. “It was today a year ago. We weren’t dating then, but we were friends. I think we were hanging out on the beach, just messing around. I must have said something funny cause you were laughing so hard you were crying!” You took a moment just to look at her, admiring the blush on her cheeks and the way she looked at you, with so much love you felt like you could explode. “That’s when I first realized I love you.”

Her blush grew darker and she made some sort of strangled sound, plopping her face into your shoulder in embarrassment. The sight drew a loud happy laugh from you and you wrapped the gem in your arms, holding her close to your chest. She giggled, hugging you back.

“I love you so, so much, Spinel.”

“I love you.”

I am sitting here .... Excitedly waiting for my Puzzles plush to arrive, first thing I'm gonna do once I get him is either slapping a bow on him or take so many pictures of him like a guy excitedly taking pictures of his new car.

❤️ Some Spinel headcanons ❤️

Spinel is very touch feely, whatever she does with you or around you expect to feel her in some way or form touching you. Whether it's just her shoulder brushing against yours, or her hand lightly holding onto yours. She likes to know you're there, and feeling you reassures her greatly ❤️

Spinel adores your shorts, any type of shorts you own she'll love on you. Mostly because she feels like you two can match outfits, but also because that gives Spinel lots and lots of skin to touch - and she lives how soft your skin is

Did I mention she loves your skin. No matter what you are, she thinks your skin is the softest thing to exist. An odd thing to love, but reasonable to her. She likes the warmth you give of and the smell of your shampoo. Though she may like your own smell a lot better then the shampoo.

If you have long hair she'll try and make it into pigtails like hers, mostly because she likes to just run her hands through it, and it's a believable Excuse to touch your hair!

You can bet your socks that Spinel surprise kisses you A LOT. You can even get out of bed without a surprise kiss, she's just all of a sudden there doing a handstand in front of you as you try to reach your alarm. Giving you one good wake up smooch ❤️

She is very curious about your hobbies, she didn't get to see or so much in her last 6000 years, so it's understandable that she would even grow curious of stamp collections. She will ask you about what it is, what it is that's so fun about it. And will try to get into it as well!

Spinel is WEAK for your kisses. She will physically fall apart and melt just by a quick kiss on the cheek! She tries to stand still and vigilant, but the moment this soft plush lips are on her, all her limbs deflate and turn noodley. She'll just...lay there, grinning up at you like a lovestruck dork. A happy dork that is.

If you kiss her gem she gasps and looks EXTREMELY flustered. Her gem is quite the sensitive and intimate spot! Goodness you should prepare her before doing that or she may have meltdown, a flustered meltdown!

Spinel enjoys electro swing, and will love dancing to it with you. No matter how good you are, she will lead you and help you. No tripping and falling with her, she catches you with one long arm and presses a kiss to your nose!

On the topic of dancing, Spinel adores slow dancing with you. She loves letting you stand on her shoes so you two can just slowly sway to the music. All the while her whispering quiet 'I love you's and compliments into your ear

"Hehe...you know I love ya', right Y/N? I love ya'...to the far far stars and back...if not even more, infinitely so... I'm gonna prove it~ Why don't cha' pucker up fer me. Cause I think I haven't been giving ya' yer prescribed amount of lovin' today~"

So these have been sitting on the back burner of my iPad for a lil, Wanted to share these so yuh!
