Something that strikes me about Palestinian journalists. They lay press vests on coffins, they wear them to funerals. They are proud of their profession and they honour it. And yet so many journalists are silent about what is happening to them. They deserve our solidarity. pic.twitter.com/KbY1plizYl

These two kids are Hamza (the oldest) and Qusai (the youngest).

Their mother shares this video and bids them goodbye. They were both killed by Israeli bombardment 5 days ago. She says:

[Two days before Hamza and Qusai were killed, hamza asked me: "mom, when we die, where will I go?" And I told him: "you will be a bird in heaven, my love." He said: "and Qusai?" "Just like you inshallah."

And indeed, two days later, he left and took his brother with him. It's like he was preparing me for saying goodbye to both of them. Heaven is more beautiful than any place on this Earth, habibi. We will meet and be reunited one day, me, your dad and you two].

Our kids don't deserve to die already thinking about what will happen to them, they don't deserve to die already terrified, anticipating their death because the world failed them and decided their lives mean nothing. We are not numbers. Remember their names and their stories.

College Graduate pt 2

College Graduate Pt 2

In which Natalie's best friend finally graduates

I smile brightly as they call my name. I had officially graduated college. I couldn't think about anything besides that. The first person in my family with a college degree. I fucking did it.

I heard Natalie's squeal before I saw her. Squeezing each other I couldn't help but laugh when she yelled, "you did it bitch!" Ppl pulling away I smile bigger, "I'm so glad that's over." The brunette nodded and grabbed my hand leading me away from the big crowd, "now you can come to LA." "All my bags are packed." She nods, "good because our flight is in 2 hours." I laugh and shake my head, "eager huh?"

"Dalilah this is David, David this is Dalia," Natalie smiled introducing me to a handsome guy, who I now know is her boss. I smile and wave, "hi." He chuckles, "hi. I hope you don't mind but I filmed your graduation." I shake my head and laugh lightly, "it's fine. Nat told me about your job." He nods and smiles, "cool."

It took us a little over an hour to get to my dorm, grab my bags, and get to the plane. Turns out David rented a private jet so we'd get to LA faster. And it didn't take long for me to fall asleep.

@/natinanoel: the new college Graduate decided she was gonna nap after 4 years of college

It has been hard for me to talk about how what is going on with Israel and Palestine is affecting me personally, but I grew up in Gaza and most of my family still lives there. My father did not survive the bombings last week and I have not been able to contact my younger sister in days. I am try to being understanding that most people do not have personal connections to what is happening and therefore are justifying their silence, but is heartbreaking to see this misinformation being spread. What’s happening there is a genocide, not a war. It is not antisemitic to support Palestine, it’s not even antiemetic to criticise Israel. There is no grey area or neutrality regarding this, and it is so easy to find resources that will educate you on the subject. It is my people and my home being destroyed so I will never be silent about this, but I please urge everyone to get informed and start speaking up and finding ways they can help.

decolonizepalestine has tons of information on Palestine’s history/propaganda that has been spread throughout the years

UK citizens can email their MP asking for a ceasefire

US citizens can call/email their local government officials asking for a ceasefire

Jewish Voice for Peace also has many resources for ways for US citizens to get involved, including protests

Donate to Palestine Children’s Relief Fund

Donate to Medical Aid for Palestine

Donate to help get food and hygiene kits to Gaza

After getting over the initial shock and heartbreak of this tweet and this reply, it hit me that (and I don't know if this is a cultural thing here in the middle east or an Islamic one)

A child has to be named even if they're stillborn.

For a child to not be named, that means there's no one left to name them. They were killed along with their entire family.

I hoped I was wrong, but I checked the list of victims of Israeli attacks and found this:

After Getting Over The Initial Shock And Heartbreak Of This Tweet And This Reply, It Hit Me That (and

Israel has ended 47 Palestinian bloodlines over the course of this genocide (or perhaps more), so you might think that this little detail isn't that important, but I don't think we should get used to cruelty of this proportion, no matter how consistently Israel commits it.

The number of victims isn't just a number. These are people with full lives and hopes and dreams.

It's enough of a disaster that these families were wiped out, but in murdering them, Israel didn't just deprive them of their lives, hopes, and dreams. It deprived them of even the dignity to name their children.

It continues to deprive the remaining Palestinians of their most basic human rights.

What did the Palestinians do to not deserve food or water or electricity?

What did their *newborns* do to not deserve lives or at the very least names?!

This is the most harrowing form of terrorism I can think of. The genocidal Israeli occupation is the most despicable terrorist organization the world has had the displeasure of knowing.

The whole world should be deeply ashamed that it's not only allowing such heinous war crimes to be committed, but in a lot of ways, it's enabling them.

I don't know how anyone can be neutral about this.

Stand with Palestine, stand against the occupation. Against genocide.
