Let's start off with how Optimus would be like in this universe alright

Cause I'm building this shit up instead of going for it tbh😭 so mb if you were expecting valveplug😔 imma probably do it in the next Feral OP post

So what I was thinking was that in this universe, the Primes were known as the broodmares right? Yea, let's tie that into them also being cryptids in order to protect their sparklings and sires

Yes, it's mainly the LHP's job to care and protect them BUT the matrix won't allow them to just be broodmares. They need to also be WEAPONS

SO what I was thinking that they would be larger than the sires by maybe a couple feet or so, they have larger teeth to defend themselves, they have thicker bodies to sustain any damage and to carry many sparklings/eggs, they have claws, etc.

That was Optimus.

Now, let's focus on Orion Pax.

Okay, now imagine this (imma combine all sorts of ideas, so stay with me now): imma say that OP, in this universe, used to be a dock worker, alright? Dock workers were BIG. They all had some sort of upgrades in order to fit the qualifications of their job. BUT they also had these upgrades because the docks were so fucking dangerous that you would need to have all sorts of weapons and training just to survive the day.

Energon rations were scarce here, yes, so they had to fight for that, too. They had to fight for everything, basically. OP, who desperately didn't want to fight anymore but couldn't because he can't go the pacifist route in this line of work, killed a lot of mechs. He felt guilty because they never chose to fight to survive. They couldn't help that the caste system doesn't benefit them; it only serves to beat them down until they're nothing, used till they're deactivated from either turf wars or some other cause.

Orion Pax figures that if he can't go for pacifist, then he should try to lessen the amount of casualties by striking deals with some of the other gangs. Does it work? Not always but at least the number has gone down. When a mech deactivates, he sends them off to the Allspark with sorrowful prayers. When a mech is injured, he tries his best to repair them before carrying them to Ratchet, with some ending up dying.

The deaths, fighting, protests against the caste system, secret meetings, mechs getting tortured and executed-- all of these were getting to him. He doesn't have any means to save them from starvation, from the frigid winters and scorching summers, from the enforcers, from each other, from themselves.

And the only happy things going in his life are his found family and his sparklings, Mirage and Bumblebee, whom he carried.

His pregnancies were brutal, to say the least, no matter how much his Amicas tried their hardest to give him what he needs. No matter how many energon rations they gave him. No matter how much they tried to keep him from stressing or in any danger. No matter how much shanix they tried to spare/save to buy items for the sparklings. No matter how much blackmail and bribes they had on others / made just to keep OP safe and keep the dock workers afloat.

And the birth. Oh, Primus below, the birth. He couldn't even describe the pain he felt other than excruciating. He was in labor for almost a full cycle. And afterwards, he was so exhausted that he was too weak to try to hold his sparkling. Too tired to even keep his optics online.

Mirage--his firstborn, whom he was forced to give him up after the overseers discovered him. He knew that Mirage wasn't made for this life as he was only so young. He knew (even though he didn't want to admit it) that he couldn't keep him, not for long. He knew that he couldn't raise him here, not in a constant state of war.

Then, he had his little Bumblebee. He doesn't believe that Bee should live in a war-like environment either. But he doesn't want to give him up. No, not entirely. So he sends Bee to live with Ratchet and his conjunx, Deadlock, this time round.

Does Bee know that OP is his carrier? Yes. Does he know why he couldn't live with his mama? No. And he'll never know why for the next couple of vorns. Does he know what they all did to make sure that he had a good life? No.

Does Mirage know about him, that he's his carrier? No. Does he know anything about his past and the family he could have gotten? No. And he wouldn't meet them until later on, when the war broke out.

(This going down the angsty route was not what I intended but whatever)

Skip forward to when Orion Pax meets Gladiator Megatronus via fighting in the Pits.

How did he get there, you may ask?

Well, he got caught fighting some enforcers who were physically assaulting one of his Amicas, and he just snapped. And, in the end, he killed 2 of them while severely injuring the rest. He was then charged without a trial and immediately sent to the Pits since they saw it as going against the system.

The Pits were a lot like the Docks, he found out. Yes, you may have to fight to the death but wasn't that what they were practically doing anyway? Yes, you have to fight to earn medical care, energon rations (those were more than what they ever got in the Dockyard), frame upgrades, more training, etc. (At least there were most benefits. He hasn't felt this good since he onlined). Yes, you have to fight with mechs who you were close to. Yes, you have even have to kill them just to survive another cycle.

Anyway, he goes against everyone in the Pits, makes a name for himself and earns quite a reputation. He then goes against Megatronus. Everymech is expecting that he would put up a fight but not win. Every single one of them placed their bets on Megatronus.

They were proved wrong when Orion Pax manages to incapacitate him

Megatronus, who has never lost a match in several vorns, was suddenly beat by a mech who He was astounded. Yes, the mech is several feet taller and larger than him, but he had won matches against larger opponents than him! He should have won!

Mind you, he wasn't angry when he woke up. No, he was just in shock because, logically, he should have won. But this got him interested.

Who was the mech? Where did he come from? How did he beat him? All of these questions ran through his mind and no answer. Because of this, he has Soundwave look into it.

What he finds is almost nothing. There's a name, when he onlined, record of his working at the Docks and being a supervisor there, but nothing else. That has him intrigued.

Mind you, the Decepticons were just starting out by the time OP got put into the Pits. Meaning, he saw and quietly listened to the mech behind the speeches; the lyrical poetry coming from the spark; the way the crowd quiets when he speaks, eager to hear from the one that will lead them to victory; to see Megatronus and the way he offers comfort to those who need it; the way everymech is comfortable around him.

Megatronus, surprisingly, offers him a place in the cause. A position that would grant him the ability to oversee the operations of the cause. One that he would have to share with Soundwave (not that he minded. In fact, he was thrilled but he never let it show either in his face nor his EM field.)

(And when Megatronus leaves him gifts and spoiling him rotten as best as he could? Megs would only that they are just friends.)

(And during this time, Bumblebee began to ask questions. Why couldn't he visit mama anymore? Did he do something wrong? Did he do anything to upset mama, to make mama not allow him to visit him?

"No, little honeybee, you didn't. In fact, he wants you there, but we can't visit him anymore, alright?"

"But why?"

"Oh, you'll understand when you're older. You'll understand why mama wants to protect you."

He never did.)

Bumblebee finally gets to visit his carrier for the first time in 2 vorns! Sure, he got to exchange datapads filled with writings and little charms with it; he got to taste candies he got sent straight from Kaon; he received numerous gifts over that time; he got voice recordings from him; he even got shanix from him to spend! ("Don't spend it all, little bitlet. You have to save some for later on." "I know, mama.")

And when he got there with Ratchet and Deadlock, he already has several mechs cooing over him.

"Oh, how adorable that bitlet is!"

"Such a precious thing, ain't he?"

"Would you like this rust stick, little one? Or an entire bag, perhaps?"

"Maybe he'll like this trinket?"

When they finally manage to get to the location, Bee's already squirming out of Deadlock's hold.

"Hold on, bitlet! We need to find your carrier first!"

"Please? I'll be right here! I can be good!"

Ratchet sighs out of amusement. "Fine. You can let him go."

As soon as he's let go, he immediately sprints from them with the both of them shouting after him. He needs to find him!!

After a while of running, he slows to a walk, admiring everything around him. He snaps out of it after a few kliks.

He's using his EM field to find him because Ratty told him that he could find his mama this way!

By this point, every mech walking by turns to look at him, sensing the little EM field that was saying 'Mama! Mama! Where are youuuuuu!'. Bee is oblivious to it all.

Then, suddenly, he's being picked up by a pair of strong arms. He's squirming uncontrollably and in a mini fit of rage. He wants to find his carrier! Who is this mech!

The mech turns him around and it's Ratchet with Deadlock trailing behind him.

"Oh!" Bumblebee looks at them sheepishly.

"Oh, is right, bitlet. Now, don't go running off, trying to find your carrier, ya?"

"Okay..." Bumblebee pouts.

After a few breems of searching, Bee manages to find his carrier among the crowd of mechs surrounding the vicinity. He loudly chirps at him, startling everyone.

Said mechs turn around and look directly at him, causing him to hide his face in Ratchet's neck.

Orion Pax, who was talking to Megatronus and Soundwave, snaps his head at Bee, optics widening. Bee is here? He thought that he wouldn't see him for another few joors!

"Oh, sweetspark!" Orion is already moving towards them, oblivious to the stares he's getting.

He takes Bumblebee from Ratchet's arms and spins the both of them around. Bumblebee giggles in delight at finally being able to see his carrier!

When they settle down, Orion Pax turns and tells them that he won't be with them for the next couple of cycles.

He turns to Ratchet and they both leave, leaving Megatronus and the rest in confusion.

(And maybe Megatronus does find Orion attractive because of this. I mean, who wouldn't? Especially once you find out that they're a carrier. And maybe he does think about getting him sparked up with his babies this time round.)

I went ahead of myself

Back to what I was saying before megpax happened

Orion Pax would know so many things about Cybertron itself and its inhabitants that not even Soundwave nor any of the spies themselves know about.

But also I believe that he would be forced to monitor some of the 'sessions' that went on there. That he would told that he was needed to film some things for the Senate only to find himself in the middle of a crime scene (and sometimes having to participate under the threat of whatever)

He would document history as it plays out and has to release the rather heavily censored versions of those events to the Iacon Hall of Records.

I also like to imagine that he would be so much older in this universe. I'm talking alive since the beginning of the Quintesson age of Cybertron, like he was there for the rise of the Quintessons and the end of it (he was part of the regime that killed them and had garnered quite a reputation there).

During that age, he was able to freely document what the Quintessons were doing and are going to do. He was also able to get into meetings where he would translate, make notes, transcribe their conversations, draft treaties, organize events and parties, record certain things, etc. etc.

He was both a highly-valued soldier and Archivist for them. Because of this, he would also be sent on stealth missions, honey trap his victims, do surveillance, basically all of those black/special ops slag.

However, the problem lay in what the Quintessons were doing to some of the other species, specifically Cybertronians. They would treat them like they were worth nothing, starve them if they disobeyed, use them for their own selfish desires, and drain them of their energon just to give them a fraction of the amount the Quintessons received.

Some of the Cybertronians (the Primes and others), however, didn't care enough of the consequences and chose to lead a rebellion against them.

Now, this is where Orion Pax noticed and did not notify the Quintessons of what they were doing. He believed that they were actually doing the right thing to stand up for themselves.

He gave them weapons, more energon, notes of what they were doing in the meetings, and provided healer training (it was rough since he had little to work with, but he gave them the basics whenever they had common injuries. If he could, then he would also provide them with the proper materials for medical supplies).

When the Quintessons eventually found out, he was close to being executed on the spot when the leader of the entire colony approached the scene and commanded that they don't kill OP because they should break him first.

After that, they kept their promise and tried everything they could to do so. They tore his armor apart from his protoform, deprived him of energon and of any form of sensory, used him, basically torturing him until he almost couldn't take it anymore.

But when they suddenly left him alone one cycle because of a meeting being held, he took that chance to escape from where he was being held (in the chambers). It was eventually found out a couple joors later, and they searched every crevice for any sign of him. But, it was too late, and OP was already halfway there to Iacon.

The Primes, while on patrol, found him in the middle of a clearing, stumbling and in a state of constant agony.

With the help of Orion Pax, who proved to be a competent soldier, they won countless battles.

Originally, after recovering enough to fight, Orion had to go through training and ranks all over again. He quickly rose up the ranks and became one of the leading generals (though this didn't really mean much when they were still in the early stages of the war).

He had all of the soldiers trained in Quintesson combat as he was the only one who knew how to. He himself modified almost of them so that they were able to have very powerful weapons to use against them. He trained the rest of them as medics, mediators, translators, etc.

(A few vorns later because I don't know what else to say in this part, okay)

Even though they didn't really have a chance in the beginning, they ended up winning the war.

In the final battle, they were close to giving up because the Quintessons were overwhelming them when Orion Pax came into the scene.

Orion, who wanted revenge for what they did to him, stormed in with powerful machine guns and blades. It was brutality and bloodlust at its finest.

He absolutely decimated every last Quintesson until they were nothing but a field of hollow corpses. After that, he had left on a spaceship for a couple of chords before returning back.

When he came back and Cybertronian society began to rebuild itself, he was there through all of it.

Somewhere down the line, some of the Primes turned away from their beliefs and everything else happened.

The caste system was put in place, and everything went to hell afterwards.

The cycle of them turning into oppressors began, and everymech suffered as a result.

The Pits, which was originally friendly sparring, turned into a bloodsport. Iacon, which was a place of fighting and violence, turned into the main source of the oppressive high-caste mechs and architecture. Kaon, once a place of the arts, became too dangerous for once to go alone unless you were born in it. Tarn, known for its beautiful architecture and wildlife, became the source of Cybertron's minerals and had abandoned buildings. Other cities had not yet formed until several vorns down the line.

Orion Pax, who had dreams of living a peaceful life and not surviving yet another horrific cycle on the battlefield, realized that it was all for nothing, now that they were destroying themselves from the inside.

He only wishes for this to end peacefully (in the back of his mind, he only knows that this is wishful thinking).

He meets Megatronus and Soundwave, helps with their cause while also trying not to give anything away from his past (he slips up a couple of times, and it messes with his mind that he can't tell them, no matter how much they insist), and everything else goes almost exactly how it did in canon.

I have been in the mood for some dark Transformers fic, and so far, the Transformers fanfics haven't offered me much. Until I happened to stumbled upon your Failsafe coding AU, which I know for sure I want to see this AU to be developed because it's both juicy and full of whump.

First, I would love to know how Megatron was in the situation of being a Gladiator slave in the first place. I imagine Megatron, original was a miner in D-16 who worked with other miner fellows, and one of them was Terminus being his caretaker/creator. It was a tough job and tough life, but they still earned enough to get the basic necessity for their lives. Until one day, the mine that they were working at was collapsed, resulting in the mine getting shut down and the miners losing their jobs. Unfortunately for D-16, Terminus was severely injured due to the mine incident, and they basically couldn't afford any medical care to cure his injured. Then, he met some bots offering him to work as a Gladiator in this one seemingly legal arena with a hefty amount of shanix that was enough to pay for his caretaker' medical bill, so he agreed to the offer, without realizing he was trafficking himself to be the property of the arena (I'm thinking about D-16 signed a shady contract that basically tricked him to be in debt through additional fees/services provided for him when he worked at the arena, and he had to pay back those fees plus very high interests. Also, if he loses a match, he has to pay for that loss. So you can imagine the arena master did everything to sabotage him and slowly trap him and threaten him to comply with their demands, leading of current situation of him). This is my idea for this AU, but I would love to hear your ideas for Megatron's background.

Second, I can't help but wonder what would happen to Orion Pax when he got caught and became the victim of trafficking. I know his face got very damaged due to the attack from Megatron's losing control, and may be his current owner did consider to put him through empurata and reduced him to a breeding slave. However, what if the reason why Orion Pax got discovered being a mole is because the current owner of Orion had taken into liking him when Orion still pretended to be the eye candy of any random Senator at these deranged party? Probably, this mech wanted to approach Orion but got rejected by him, which was a serious misstep from Orion Pax. So this mech (either a ring leader of Outlier trafficking organization or one of the rich clients) decided to dug into Orion's personal life like a creeping stalker he was, and he finally found out about Orion's real identity... which led to Orion getting exposed and well, becoming the trafficked mech like other Outliers and activists. So after Orion got ravaged by Megatron as spectacle for the deranged and vile beings (including a bunch of corrupted senators and governors), Orion got auctioned off and get bought by the same mech that exposed him being a mole. The Orion's master at first, seeing how Orion's face got almost destroyed, decided to reduce him just a breeding slave so no need to get him a new face. However, this deranged master also missed Orion's handsome face and his beautiful optics full of fire and defiance and he enjoyed to see Orion's faceplate when he broke him down into an hopeless and defeated cage bird. So he decided to fix Orion Pax's face once he birthed his and Megatron's first child. Though, when his face was fixed, Orion was forced to have a retractable facemask to hide his identity (but mostly to tempt the clients to pay extra fees if they wanted to his face in a private setting. Plus, the owner was possessive of Orion's pretty face). This is what I come up and I would love to see your ideas of what happened to Orion Pax when he became the trafficked mech or how he got discovered.

I actually would like to come up with more details of Orion's predicaments and hellhole conditions as being a trafficked mech. I wonder if you would have him just being a breeder or him being prostituted by his owner. Also, would love to see or imagine how he interacted with Starscream and other trafficked mechs. Do you know who else was being enslaved under the owner.

The great thing about fiction is even if you're inspired by history is you can also just make shit up still i want to scratch that nerd itch so there's going to be Gladiator schools & taking from some naval history like a lot of mechs are pressganged into stuff

First of all i like the idea of D-16 being made during the gorilla fighting that eventually drove off the Quintesson occupation, his alt form is first and foremost a gun, tho in this it's more like Black Rock Shooters massive arm canon that has to be wielded by another bot,

As for his history we could take some inspiration from Spartacus & say that he was accused of deserting & that's how he ends up in a miner's chaingang

Lots of warframes end up going through something similar since the ruling classes/casts are firm believers in religious functionalism & think that the warframes will just fight constantly if they aren't tightly leashed

The gladiatorial rings were something introduced to Cybertron during the occupation with the Quintessons using them much the way the romans did, to execute criminals & entertain/threaten the masses, shipping in animals from distant planets & such to tear the sentenced apart, then they started training/designing their own executioners after exhausting the predatory fauna of numerous worlds (fun fact rome nearly drove lions to extinction in several places), leading to the system of gladiators & there being less death in the ring if no less bloodshed because who wants to destroy their bespoke killing machines, the general populace begin to associate these mech with the Unmaker maybe some of them begin to venerate the Fallen as a cultic figure, here using the roman meaning of cult/cultic etc, patron of the ring

Maybe D-16 was originally destined for one of these Gladiator schools being a custom commission but was stolen by a gorilla resistance & that's how he ended up as part of the resistance, regardless he meets Terminus in the mines & that's a strong influence on him

He ends up in the ring having been sentenced to execution idk why yet but probably for defending another miner from an overseer, but against all odds he survives the fight, "I Still Function!" & he ends up being sold to a school despite ostensibly having won his freedom yet again. The other gladiators induct him into the cult & over time begin to venerate him, which the Managers of the school catch wind of & give him the stage name Megatronus after the Fallen which he shortens to Megatron, 'come see the gladiator blessed by the Unmaker himself' etc etc.

Orion gets found out as a mole because the Senator that Shockwave coerced into getting Orion into the private parties sold them out. Which is also how Senator Shockwave gets empurata'd because the traffickers have sponsors from the council. But i love the idea of other party goers harassing Orion. These things are always masquerades with bots wearing masks/battlemasks & holographic clothing to disguise themselves, in this verse bots can change their colours nanites at will if they have enough energon to spare which adds a layer to their disguises. Bots will often dress up as historical or mythological figures so Orion gets dressed up as a mini Prima. Which definitely caught the eye of the trafficker since he's playing up Megatron's status as a cultic figure to make him more appealing/unique to the high cast bots hiring him for the party.

I haven't worked out how exactly i want cybertronian reproduction to work yet but there's definitely multiple ways a bot can be born with pregnancy being highly risky & very rare.

At first Orion is being housed/moved with Starscream but once the sparklings are born and sent off to their new owners. The manager started bidding on the sparklings as soon as they confirmed it had taken at the party. They get separated & Orion gets subjected to training so he can put up some mock fight before he gets fucked six ways to sunday at the next party. He also gets /trained/ on how to please the party goers beforehand. I can definitely see the tracker prostituting Orion out where he wouldn't be as willing to do so with his high value Outlier stock. It's through tracking sightings of Orion that Jazz, Blaster, & Prowl are able to close in on the trafficking ring.

I haven't come up with who else has been disappeared yet tbh.

especially when you consider the size difference. starscream is giant in tfa, so imagine him getting optimus pregnant with a whole trine... optimus won't be able to hide his pregnancy for very long

and carrier optimus would be such a diva, let's be real. he's bratty, he's stubborn, and he's got his decepticon conjunx wrapped all the way around his digit. starscream wants the future heirs of his decepticon rule to be properly cared for, so he's gonna spoil optimus rotten. if optimus wants something, all he has to do is pout with those pretty lips and rub his pregnant belly, and starscream folds like origami.

(and if being cute doesn't work, optimus can still threaten to chop his head off. him being a carrier doesn't mean he can't still use his axe.)

What happens is that Orion Pax gets dragged to the nightclub (run by Jazz, of course) by a couple of his Amicas because he "needs to loosen up a bit!"

(And let me tell you right now, Orion is no ordinary mid-caste archivist. No, no, no! He is a warframe who got picked up by Alpha Trion at one of the hotspots. [And he also has several engravings (tattoos) and piercings...] He can be shy, but only when he doesn't know anybody there or is in a professional setting. When he's with his Amicas, he can be a bit loud and is very open[-minded] with his opinions. He often gets into fights with some mechs [though, it's usually for the money]. He's loves sharing his opinions on the caste system and systematic injustice to anyone who also shares his sentiments.)

Megatronus/D-16 goes there after his own Amicas tell him that this nightclub is "one of the best on Cybertron!" He gets interested after a bit of convincing and here he is.

(Imma also tell you right now that Megatronus/D-16 is also a warframe [of course], but he's a bit smaller by a couple feet from the other Pit fighters. He is a kind, passionate mech who wants to see the end of the caste system. He wants to be able to walk anywhere without any repercussions or needing an escort. He wants to be able to receive an education, but, alas, the caste systems forbids him from getting one. He only has one engraving, and it was done by Soundwave, his cherished Amica.)

Megatronus/D-16 gets there, and the first thing he sees is a beautiful mech. He sees all of the intricate engravings and piercings the mech has, the way he easily moves through the crowd, the way he dances, and is instantly enamored by him.

When the mech goes to the bar for a drink, he, rather shyly, asks the bartender (Hot Rod) to give him one of the most expensive drinks there (he wants to make a good impression on him) and say it's from him.

OP, on the other hand, is wondering who gave him this expensive ass drink. Hot Rod points to Dee, and OP is immediately like, "Woah, he's cute." He asks Hot Rod to give the mech his comm. and designation.

He does, and Dee's spark is immediately fluttering. By Primus, he actually got the pretty mech's comm. and designation! He didn't even think it would work, but it did!!

Mind you, everymech that was with Dee watches this go down and they all chuckle. They saw how Dee, almost literally, had heart eyes when he saw OP. They thought that Dee wouldn't go through with it, but he did, and they are impressed.

Later on, when they all went home, Dee would excitedly contact OP, and they would begin talking about everything they could think of.

So what I was thinking was that in this universe, the Primes were known as the broodmares right? Yea, let's tie that into them also being cryptids in order to protect their sparklings and sires

Yes, it's mainly the LHP's job to care and protect them BUT the matrix won't allow them to just be broodmares. They need to also be WEAPONS

SO what I was thinking that they would be larger than the sires by maybe a couple feet or so, they have larger teeth to defend themselves, they have thicker bodies to sustain any damage and to carry many sparklings/eggs, they have claws, etc.

That was Optimus.

Now, let's focus on Orion Pax.

Okay, now imagine this (imma combine all sorts of ideas, so stay with me now): imma say that OP, in this universe, used to be a dock worker, alright? Dock workers were BIG. They all had some sort of upgrades in order to fit the qualifications of their job. BUT they also had these upgrades because the docks were so fucking dangerous that you would need to have all sorts of weapons and training just to survive the day.

Energon rations were scarce here, yes, so they had to fight for that, too. They had to fight for everything, basically. OP, who desperately didn't want to fight anymore but couldn't because he can't go the pacifist route in this line of work, killed a lot of mechs. He felt guilty because they never chose to fight to survive. They couldn't help that the caste system doesn't benefit them; it only serves to beat them down until they're nothing, used till they're deactivated from either turf wars or some other cause.

Orion Pax figures that if he can't go for pacifist, then he should try to lessen the amount of casualties by striking deals with some of the other gangs. Does it work? Not always but at least the number has gone down. When a mech deactivates, he sends them off to the Allspark with sorrowful prayers. When a mech is injured, he tries his best to repair them before carrying them to Ratchet, with some ending up dying.

The deaths, fighting, protests against the caste system, secret meetings, mechs getting tortured and executed-- all of these were getting to him. He doesn't have any means to save them from starvation, from the frigid winters and scorching summers, from the enforcers, from each other, from themselves.

And the only happy things going in his life are his found family and his sparklings, Mirage and Bumblebee, whom he carried.

His pregnancies were brutal, to say the least, no matter how much his Amicas tried their hardest to give him what he needs. No matter how many energon rations they gave him. No matter how much they tried to keep him from stressing or in any danger. No matter how much shanix they tried to spare/save to buy items for the sparklings. No matter how much blackmail and bribes they had on others / made just to keep OP safe and keep the dock workers afloat.

And the birth. Oh, Primus below, the birth. He couldn't even describe the pain he felt other than excruciating. He was in labor for almost a full cycle. And afterwards, he was so exhausted that he was too weak to try to hold his sparkling. Too tired to even keep his optics online.

Mirage--his firstborn, whom he was forced to give him up after the overseers discovered him. He knew that Mirage wasn't made for this life as he was only so young. He knew (even though he didn't want to admit it) that he couldn't keep him, not for long. He knew that he couldn't raise him here, not in a constant state of war.

Then, he had his little Bumblebee. He doesn't believe that Bee should live in a war-like environment either. But he doesn't want to give him up. No, not entirely. So he sends Bee to live with Ratchet and his conjunx, Deadlock, this time round.

Does Bee know that OP is his carrier? Yes. Does he know why he couldn't live with his mama? No. And he'll never know why for the next couple of vorns. Does he know what they all did to make sure that he had a good life? No.

Does Mirage know about him, that he's his carrier? No. Does he know anything about his past and the family he could have gotten? No. And he wouldn't meet them until later on, when the war broke out.

(This going down the angsty route was not what I intended but whatever)

Skip forward to when Orion Pax meets Gladiator Megatronus via fighting in the Pits.

How did he get there, you may ask?

Well, he got caught fighting some enforcers who were physically assaulting one of his Amicas, and he just snapped. And, in the end, he killed 2 of them while severely injuring the rest. He was then charged without a trial and immediately sent to the Pits since they saw it as going against the system.

The Pits were a lot like the Docks, he found out. Yes, you may have to fight to the death but wasn't that what they were practically doing anyway? Yes, you have to fight to earn medical care, energon rations (those were more than what they ever got in the Dockyard), frame upgrades, more training, etc. (At least there were most benefits. He hasn't felt this good since he onlined). Yes, you have to fight with mechs who you were close to. Yes, you have even have to kill them just to survive another cycle.

Anyway, he goes against everyone in the Pits, makes a name for himself and earns quite a reputation. He then goes against Megatronus. Everymech is expecting that he would put up a fight but not win. Every single one of them placed their bets on Megatronus.

They were proved wrong when Orion Pax manages to incapacitate him

Megatronus, who has never lost a match in several vorns, was suddenly beat by a mech who He was astounded. Yes, the mech is several feet taller and larger than him, but he had won matches against larger opponents than him! He should have won!

Mind you, he wasn't angry when he woke up. No, he was just in shock because, logically, he should have won. But this got him interested.

Who was the mech? Where did he come from? How did he beat him? All of these questions ran through his mind and no answer. Because of this, he has Soundwave look into it.

What he finds is almost nothing. There's a name, when he onlined, record of his working at the Docks and being a supervisor there, but nothing else. That has him intrigued.

Mind you, the Decepticons were just starting out by the time OP got put into the Pits. Meaning, he saw and quietly listened to the mech behind the speeches; the lyrical poetry coming from the spark; the way the crowd quiets when he speaks, eager to hear from the one that will lead them to victory; to see Megatronus and the way he offers comfort to those who need it; the way everymech is comfortable around him.

Megatronus, surprisingly, offers him a place in the cause. A position that would grant him the ability to oversee the operations of the cause. One that he would have to share with Soundwave (not that he minded. In fact, he was thrilled but he never let it show either in his face nor his EM field.)

(And when Megatronus leaves him gifts and spoiling him rotten as best as he could? Megs would only that they are just friends.)

(And during this time, Bumblebee began to ask questions. Why couldn't he visit mama anymore? Did he do something wrong? Did he do anything to upset mama, to make mama not allow him to visit him?

"No, little honeybee, you didn't. In fact, he wants you there, but we can't visit him anymore, alright?"

"But why?"

"Oh, you'll understand when you're older. You'll understand why mama wants to protect you."

He never did.)

Bumblebee finally gets to visit his carrier for the first time in 2 vorns! Sure, he got to exchange datapads filled with writings and little charms with it; he got to taste candies he got sent straight from Kaon; he received numerous gifts over that time; he got voice recordings from him; he even got shanix from him to spend! ("Don't spend it all, little bitlet. You have to save some for later on." "I know, mama.")

And when he got there with Ratchet and Deadlock, he already has several mechs cooing over him.

"Oh, how adorable that bitlet is!"

"Such a precious thing, ain't he?"

"Would you like this rust stick, little one? Or an entire bag, perhaps?"

"Maybe he'll like this trinket?"

When they finally manage to get to the location, Bee's already squirming out of Deadlock's hold.

"Hold on, bitlet! We need to find your carrier first!"

"Please? I'll be right here! I can be good!"

Ratchet sighs out of amusement. "Fine. You can let him go."

As soon as he's let go, he immediately sprints from them with the both of them shouting after him. He needs to find him!!

After a while of running, he slows to a walk, admiring everything around him. He snaps out of it after a few kliks.

He's using his EM field to find him because Ratty told him that he could find his mama this way!

By this point, every mech walking by turns to look at him, sensing the little EM field that was saying 'Mama! Mama! Where are youuuuuu!'. Bee is oblivious to it all.

Then, suddenly, he's being picked up by a pair of strong arms. He's squirming uncontrollably and in a mini fit of rage. He wants to find his carrier! Who is this mech!

The mech turns him around and it's Ratchet with Deadlock trailing behind him.

"Oh!" Bumblebee looks at them sheepishly.

"Oh, is right, bitlet. Now, don't go running off, trying to find your carrier, ya?"

"Okay..." Bumblebee pouts.

After a few breems of searching, Bee manages to find his carrier among the crowd of mechs surrounding the vicinity. He loudly chirps at him, startling everyone.

Said mechs turn around and look directly at him, causing him to hide his face in Ratchet's neck.

Orion Pax, who was talking to Megatronus and Soundwave, snaps his head at Bee, optics widening. Bee is here? He thought that he wouldn't see him for another few joors!

"Oh, sweetspark!" Orion is already moving towards them, oblivious to the stares he's getting.

He takes Bumblebee from Ratchet's arms and spins the both of them around. Bumblebee giggles in delight at finally being able to see his carrier!

When they settle down, Orion Pax turns and tells them that he won't be with them for the next couple of cycles.

He turns to Ratchet and they both leave, leaving Megatronus and the rest in confusion.

(And maybe Megatronus does find Orion attractive because of this. I mean, who wouldn't? Especially once you find out that they're a carrier. And maybe he does think about getting him sparked up with his babies this time round.)
