Discothéque Space Capsule - Roppongi, Tokyo (1968)
Underground nightclub designed by Kisho Kurokawa. The floors, walls, and ceilings are all constructed of reflective stainless steel. The ceiling is covered with computer-controlled tri-color lights and a ‘television chandelier’, with each TV tuned to a different channel. A stage in the center is used for fashion shows, avant-garde productions and poetry readings.
Another great example of 1960s-1970s space-age futurism influencing the later Y2K style in the 90s.
Peace and love, these are the first chapters from both my novels that I'm putting out this summer on the same day. might not seem like much but being mentioned or involved even the slightest, even by sight, in an essay about fashion by one of the most eloquent, forward-thinking, knowledgeable creators i had the privilege of coming across and absolute favorite who brings such an unique twist on fashion theory…it’s beyond an honour and makes all the work i put into this so worth it❤️
