Story by @rumiandroses

On the night of March 17-18, 2025, as airstrikes rained down across Gaza, the Al-Quzzaz family’s tent was destroyed. Miraculously, Hossam, his wife Hanan, and their four children (Bashar, 9; Hani, 8; Diana, 4; and Habiba, 6 months) all survived unharmed, but many in their displacement camp did not—many men, women and children, innocent lives who had already endured so much, were lost to the violence.

Amid the chaos, the Al-Qazzaz family has clung to their faith and done their best to keep their spirits high. They've sought safety where they can, staying with relatives and mentally preparing themselves for the days ahead as war returns to Gaza. Every day is filled with fear and uncertainty—Just last week, Hanan, went to a local hospital, only for the hospital to be bombed just hours after she left it.

In the aftermath of the airstrikes, Hossam and our founder, Bethany-Grace, discussed sending some of the funds raised so far from the Chuffed campaign she is sponsoring for the Al-Quzzaz family, so that the family could rebuild their shelter. On March 28, we were able to send Hossam $788 (€697.48 after conversion) raised by the Chuffed campaign—enough to start constructing a sturdier, more protective shelter for the family. While this might seem like a significant sum, the blockade of goods into Gaza has caused prices for basic items like food, medicine, and building materials to skyrocket.

Today, because of your kindness, compassion, and generosity, Hossam was able to purchase sturdy building materials and has begun to rebuild the family's tent.

As a direct result of your help, the Al-Quzzaz family will have shelter again. They will be protected from the elements and shielded as much as possible from the dangers that surround them every second of every day.

But the Al-Quzzaz family's journey is far from over. We are still raising funds to help Hossam’s family escape to safety and rebuild their lives.

If you can, please donate. If you cannot, please share—amplifying this family's story plays an important role in helping the family find people who can financially assist.

Your generosity has already helped this family take their first steps toward recovery. Let’s help them move forward.

Conclavers, just found out the Pope CAN infact adopt children (same goes for any priest). The only reason I know this is because my dad’s old friend, who was a Catholic priest, has an adopted daughter. Do with this information as you please.

A pin is highlighted with a white text bubble attached to it. The text reads: I've always imagined you and me sitting out in the sun, hand and hand, free at last. We spoke of all the places we would go if we could. Yet you are gone now. If I had known that bombs raining down on us would take you from me, I would have gladly told the world how I adored you more than anything. I'm sorry I was a coward.

Imagine holding your child close as icy rain seeps through the torn fabric of your tent, their small body shivering against yours. The ground beneath you is cold and unyielding, but there is nowhere else to go—your home is now a pile of rubble, your livelihood reduced to ashes.

Story written by @rumiandroses

Just months ago, Nazmy Aboouda was a university graduate with hopes of travel, work, and a secure future for his family. But war does not discriminate; it tore through everything—his home, his small clothing shops, and every plan he had made.

Now, Nazmy, his wife, his children, and his ailing mother huddle together in a makeshift tent, the thin walls barely enough to block the bitter chill of winter nights. Food and water are scarce, and the threat of disease looms large with every passing day. His mother’s health deteriorates rapidly, requiring urgent surgery that is out of reach without financial assistance. The children, too young to understand why their world has collapsed, have not tasted a full meal in weeks.

The war has reduced every source of this family's livelihood to ashes, leaving Nazmy’s family to face hunger, malnutrition, and the constant fear of what tomorrow might bring. Yet, amid the wreckage, Nazmy struggles to keep hope alive—for his children, for his mother, and for a future beyond the camps and the chaos of war.

Nazmy’s story is just one of countless in Gaza, where the need for support has never been more urgent. A small donation can help provide the food, medicine, and warmth that his family so desperately needs. Even if you cannot give, sharing his story can help bring the aid they need to survive.

You can donate to Nazmy’s GoFundMe campaign [HERE].

Imagine waking up to the deafening roar of explosions, your tent shaking violently as the earth trembles beneath you. In an instant, everything is chaos—your children scream in terror, clutching onto you as you scramble to escape. The sky is filled with smoke and falling debris, the air thick with dust and panic. There is no time to think, no time to gather what little you have left. You run—barefoot, desperate, carrying your baby in your arms—praying that you will make it out alive.

Story written by @rumiandroses

For Hossam Al-Qazzaz and his family, this nightmare became reality LAST NIGHT (03/17/2025) when an airstrike obliterated their tent—their last refuge after losing their home, a casualty of the war in Gaza. With no shelter, no safety, and nowhere left to run, they are once again plunged into unimaginable uncertainty as the ceasefire in Gaza collapses and war reignites around them.

Hossam, a dedicated father of four, has already lost his home, his job, and his peace of mind due to the relentless bombardments in Gaza in the 15 months preceding the now,-collapsed ceasefire. Now, with nothing but debris around them, he, his wife Hanan, and their four children—Bashar (9), Hani (8), Diana (4), and 5-month-old Habiba—are now struggling to survive with no roof over their heads.

The suffering extends beyond Hossam, his wife, and his children. Hossam is also the sole caretaker of his elderly parents, aged 75 and 72, both in fragile health. His father is suffering from severe burns and urgently needs medical care, while his mother battles high blood pressure and requires constant attention. But with no home, no stable source of income, and skyrocketing prices for essentials like rice and cooking gas—driven by the border closures and the ban on goods entering Gaza—Hossam is trapped in an incredibly difficult and stressful situation.

Despite these unbearable challenges, Hossam is not asking for much—only the money needed to survive, and to be able to evacuate to safety when the border crossing opens again.

"All we want is to live in dignity," Hossam pleads.

This is where you can make a difference. Every small donation—no matter how modest—can help provide food, clothing, and medical care for Hossam, Hanan, their children, and elderly parents. It can help ensure that Habiba gets the milk and diapers she desperately needs and that his family is not left out in the open with nowhere to turn.

Please, if you can, donate or share Hossam’s story today. Your support can be the difference between survival and despair.

Please consider donating to the Al-Qazzaz family’s original fundraiser to help them buy food and essentials and rebuild their tent:

Our founder, Bethany-Grace ( @rumiandroses ) is also sponsoring a fundraising campaign to help Hossam, Hanan and their entire family evacuate to safety. If everyone donates a little, we might be able to get them to safety the moment the border crossing opens again:
