OF COURSE Trixie was gonna show up. She can now die a happy woman having seen this movie.
We were gods, we were kids
WICKED (2024) — dir. Jon M. Chu
Before January 2025:
If you are a USAmerican in a relationship that might be affected by legislation that dissolves same-sex marriages, who may no longer be recognized as next-of-kin, especially if you have children, get your rights in writing!
Your marriage certificate may not be enough to prove you have rights to make medical decisions for non-biological children or for a same-sex spouse or partner.
Go to a lawyer, get it spelled out as clearly as possible that you have a voice in emergency medical and legal situations.
*meanwhile, in the Underworld* Polites: Eurylochus, back so soon? And...there's the rest of your crew. And by the gods, what happened to you? Eurylochus, who is sick of thematically-significant reprises: >:(
so you’re telling me that there’s a scene where elphie goes back and RESCUES glinda while she’s already trying to save herself and they CUT IT?
Having your own personal blog is honestly quite a nice change of pace compared to Reddit. I could put a funny GIF of George Bush getting hit by a shoe on here and the worse case scenario is that no one even notices.
You put that on a big subreddit and you get your eyes gouged out and a heap of political discourse underneath your post.
Now that the Thunder Saga is here, No Longer You is SO much clearer!!
Jay finally gave us the first four lines of the chorus vocals at the end, because they help interpret Tiresias's first verse:
"I see a song of past romance" -> "Siren Song" -> the song Suffering, in which "Penelope" sings to Odysseus
"I see the sacrifice of man" -> "Scylla throat" -> the song Scylla, in which Odysseus decides to let Scylla kill six men so the ship may pass through
"I see portrayals of betrayal and a brother's final stand" -> "Mutiny" -> the song of the same name, in which the crew betrays Odysseus and Eurylochus (who Odysseus calls "brother") stands against him
"I see you on the brink of death. I see you draw your final breath" -> "Lightning bolt" -> the song Thunder Bringer, where Odysseus is nearly killed by Zeus and is almost drowned, and in which he sacrifices his crew (further cementing him as a monster)
If you watched the live stream, you'd also have seen Jay mouth along to the very final part of the chorus, which I have long suspected (and now know!) to be "Od-y-sse-us," in the Danger Motif, foreshadowing his monstrous, vengeful presence in the song of his name.
That means that the chorus' only other two lines must connect to the time in between the end of this saga and the beginning of his revenge--if anyone has any new ideas as to what they are saying, please share!! Isn't it so cool how the sagas are so thoughtfully connected???
Annabeth was this little when she ran away from home wait 🥺
