Everyone was gathered in the living room to hang out, and, for the first time, you won't join them.

"[Y/N], are you sure, that you don't want to read new chapters with us?" Dazai tilted his head. He pet the couch seat near him. "Come on, sit right here, next to me!"

You shook your head.

"Sorry, Osamu, but I won't sit next to you." You tried to ignore Dazai's quiet disappointed whine. Then You noticed, how Nikolai perked up. You quickly responded. "I also won't sit next to you, Kolya."

You tried to ignore Kolya's disappointed whine. Before more invitations came, you raise your hands.

"Everyone, I would love to join you, but I need to wake up early tomorrow to finish the university project."

Quiet murmurs filled the room, but, it seems, you can go to bed.

"Good Night, everyone. See you at the morning."

You went to your room. And BSD Cast started to read last chapters then "missed" due to them coming to Real World.

Starting from chapter 105.

Normally, you would wake up in the morning, because of the smell of coffee and Nikolai's cheerful voice.

Today you woke up, because of the smell of coffee and Nikolai's sobbing. You immediately jumped up from the bed. Fighting dizziness, you asked

"Um... Kolya... Are you... Umf…" you were crushed in a hug. After that, immediately came multiple kisses on the cheek from Nikolai. You awkwardly pet the top of his head.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you... Thank you for being Reader, Our Guiding Light. For making us self-aware!"

You felt, there was something you are missing.

The moment you stepped outside your room, you got another bone crushing hug, this time, from Sigma, and a few shy nose kisses.

You went to first floor. Made few steps in the detection of the kitchen.

You weren't surprised, when you were tackled to the ground by Dazai. He whispered, between forehead kisses, he started giving you.

"Precious. You are so precious. We love you so much. We will be grateful for you for all eternity."

You wondered what exactly happened, while you were sleeping, and how many hugs you will get.

You barely made a step inside the dining room, when you were picked up by Bram. He planted a small kiss on your hand.

"Thou are the greatest blessing, that could ever come to our lives."

You spend breakfast with Aya and Teruko cheering for every smallest thing you have ever done.

The moment you left the dining room, you were engulfed in a gentle hug by Fukuzawa. He softly kissed the top of your head.

It's not like it was unusual for BSD Cast to show you their love, or gave you positive affirmations. But, you can bet your tooth, that today there was another reason.

Otherwise, you can't explain, why Kunikida was trembling, while hugging you right now, while promising to bring the whole world to your feet.

My one headcanon that I will continue to believe despite it being proven wrong several times over is that Dazai doesn't handle pain well.

It's said in canon that he doesn't like pain (which tbh is one of the more normal things about him) but he has been stabbed, shot, beaten up, ect multiple times and he almost always reacts like its nothing to him afterwards. I know this goes for most characters in BSD because everyone's only as hurt as the plot needs them to be, shhh, I'm talking about Dazai specifically.

I simply do not accept this.

I think Dazai actually has a really low pain tolerance but he's just learned to mask it the same way he has all his other feelings. However, if that mask breaks he's a mess. He's snivelling, curling in on himself, making all the sad whimpering owie noises because he can't take it.

When his injuries are painful at night and he can't sleep, he's kicking under the covers and biting his pyjamas in frustration. It makes him angry because he can't just shut out physical pain like he can emotional pain, he doesn't have that control. Sure, he can try to ignore it but it doesn't stop the pain being there.

And most frustrating of all he wants to be comforted. He finds the weaker part of himself demanding he reach out for help but refuses to give into that impulse. That's how you know he's really in pain, because a little cut or bruise and he'll milk it for all the attention he can get, he'll annoy the hell out of Kunikida by saying he couldn't possibly be forced to file paperwork when the vile report gave him such a grave paper cut. It would be inhumane to force him through that trauma. Things like that.

When Dazai's really hurt, he tries to hide it or play it off like he's fine (it's the cat in him), unfortunately for him, people who care about him have caught onto this behaviour and start demanding to know what's wrong. To which he instinctively denies everything because god forbid they see him hurting (again, picture a cat that hates going to the vets, that's him).

For all his efforts, he still breaks, because he's bad with pain and fighting is making it worse. Eventually he becomes more reluctantly accepting of help. From certain people he trusts. Kunikida, Chuuya, Yosano.

They know he's feeling better when he starts playing into it, and the "woe is me" act starts coming out. They can't be entirely annoyed at it, because it means he's recovering.

You know what would be fun? If Fyodor pulled this dying in a helicopter crash scheme a little longer, if we were allowed to live in a false sense of security for like 20 more chapters and we started noticing there is something really off with Bram, that he's getting a little more sick with every appearance and that sense of security would slowly morph into sense of dread once we realise something is growing inside him. And THEN we'd get the whole triparty singularity culmination.
