Chapter 185 - Wing Hero: Hawks

His wings are so much bigger and more majestic in the mangas than in the anime. Also I feel like they're much more anatomically correct and detailed.

Hawks x Reader

“Who is that?” Keigo says to himself as he pulls away from the current conversation he was having with interviewers.

He’s never had someone grab his attention so abruptly. This woman had a cream colored silk dress on with crystals hanging down her back. Her skin glistened under the jewels and the lights in the ball room. Her hair was in an updo with a few locs framing her face. She was having a conversation with Aizawa. Keigo makes his way over to introduce himself. 

“Aizawa, how are you?” Keigo says interrupting their conversation. 

The mystery woman smiles at him. Aizawa looks confused as if they didn’t have a conversation earlier. 

“I’m still doing fine?” Aizawa replies. 

Ignoring Aizawa’s sarcastic comment, Keigo keeps pushing the conversation. 

“I didn’t know you were bringing someone to this event?” Keigo questions Aizawa. 

“Oh, he didn’t bring me. I’m a new teacher at U.A. this term. Mrs. Y/N. Hero name, Aerial. ” She says holding out her hand to shake his. 

Keigo smiles at the fact that she was not Aizawa’s date AND she’s also not married. He reaches for her hand and kisses the back of it. 

“Pleasure to meet you, Hawks.” 

You smile at him. You both felt instant chemistry with each other. It was so much chemistry that they didn’t notice Aizawa had walked away a few moments ago. 

“Aizawa’s disappeared.” You say looking around the room.

“Yea, he does that. Probably getting a drink or sleeping somewhere. I don’t know what that man does with his time.” Keigo says as he shrugs his shoulders. 

You giggle and say, "that’s too bad. He was suppose to introduce me to more pros.” 

Keigo seems confused by her statement. What other hero would she need to meet? She’s already met the number two hero in Japan.

“Well lucky for you! I happen to know all of them.” Keigo says. 

“Really? And why is that?” You ask. 

She genuinely has no idea who Hawks is… and he LOVES that. 

“Did you just move to Japan???” Keigo asks. 

“Yes…what does that have to do with the question I just asked?” You backtrack. 

“Nothing.” Keigo says bluntly. 

“…..okay…..are you gonna answer my question as to why you know ALL of them?” You backtrack once again. 

“OH! Cuz I’m a hero.” Keigo says as he fluffs up his wings. 

You laughs and say “well, yes… everyone here is either a teacher or a hero and I haven’t seen you on campus this past week so I would assume you’re a hero. That still does not answer my question as to why you know ALL of the heroes.” 

“Oh I’m just active in the community. You know networking and stuff.” Keigo says shutting down her concerns. 

You laugh again. You find him charming but you'd be lying if you said you weren't concerned about his baby face. You're 22 with a baby face as well so can’t make out a clear judgement of his age. 

“So how long have you been a hero, Hawks.” You say redirecting the conversation. 

“Since I was 18. I opened up my own hero agency the same year I started. I’m 23 now.” Keigo says trying to impress her. 

“That’s very impressive. You must be a hardworking man.” You reply hiding your excitement to know that this charming man infront of you is your age. 

“I am. And you?” Keigo says. 

You think about the question for a second. You're very hesitant to give information about herself to people you don’t know. It’s just how you were raised. 

“I started when I was 18 too. I did some hero work in the states and I was music teacher part time to save up to move here! Now I’m 22 and working as a teacher at U.A.” You say. 

“Awh, you were a music teacher? That must’ve been so fun. Do you have a music quirk?” Keigo asks. 

“No, I can control the air around me and in my body. Hence my hero name being Aerial.” You say as you create a tiny tornado on your finger tip. 

“That’s a really impressive quirk. You’re going to make an excellent teacher for the next generation of heroes.” Keigo says genuinely impressed.

You smile and say, “ thank you.” 

Present Mic comes up behind you and taps you on the shoulder.

“So sorry to interrupt but, we need you on stage with the rest of the new teachers. We’re going to introduce you guys.” 

“I’ll head over in a second thank you.” She responds. 

She opens her clutch and hands Keigo a card. 

“I’ve got to go but I hope we can see each other again soon. Reach out if you want a piano or singing lesson, okay?” She says with a smile. 

She shakes Keigo’s hand one more time and walks towards stage.

You were lying in your bed, the room a comforting environment that always seemed to ease you at your best and worst times. The smell of your lavender-scented diffuser lingered in the air as you took a deep relaxing inhale through your nostrils. The bright moon filters through your blinds in the early hours of 1:47 AM.

Your arms were crossed under your head as you lay on your stomach. You really should sleep, you need to sleep. You have work in the morning, papers to check over and sign, missions to accept, and meetings to go to. But you couldn't, and you wouldn’t. For you and a very infamous avian hero had a very important meeting to attend to yall selves.

Right on cue, a feather-light rhythmic of knocks came to the glass of my balcony doors. My eyes snapped toward the source, excitement stirring in my chest. Without hesitation, I flipped the duvet aside, bare feet padding across the floor as I made my way toward the balcony.

Before my hand came near the curtains of the doors, my eyes once over myself as they caught sight of the body mirror in the corner of my room. 

My hair was styled in two messy twists that draped over my chest. A tank top clung to my skin like a second layer, the fabric stretched thin enough for my nipples to peek through, hardened from the cool air. Cotton shorts, soft and barely covering much, hugged my hips, riding up just enough to leave my ass teasingly exposed.

You and Hawks have been caught up in a secret relationship for what feels like ages—maybe four to six months—though you’ve lost track of time in the thrill of your hidden moments together. It all started when he first spotted you at a lively Hero Gala. The moment his bright golden eyes met yours, something sparked between you two, pulling him in. It wasn’t just your stunning looks that drew him; it was the way you carried yourself with such ease, the sweet sound of your laughter that filled the room, and so much more. From that very first conversation, everything changed, revealing a connection that felt meant to be.

Another light tap tapped against the glass, pulling you from your deep thoughts. You quickly raised your hand, drawing the curtains aside as they slid along the pole that held them up.

A blissful smile painted your facial features in an instant as you met those familiar golden eyes that seemed to glow in the darkness of the night. 

Hawks, your secret love; Hawks.

He was dressed in his hero uniform, his gloved hands pressed against the transparent barrier as he smiled brightly at you. He tilted his cute little head, mimicking a gesture for you to open the door. I hurriedly unlocked the doors and slid them open. Suddenly, he came crashing into you, nearly knocking both of you over.

“Hawks! Baby,” I exclaimed, as he started pampering your face with the gentlest of kisses. Wrapping my arms around his neck I quickly caught myself toppling over. “Stop it, dummy.” I declared but with no real force behind it. He chuckled as his arms, embraced around your waist, hugged tighter. He buried his head in the crook of your neck as he blissfully sighed. The warmth of it sent a chill down my spine.

“Gosh, I missed you.” You could feel a grin creep up his face after he said those words. My smile softened, pulling back so I could gaze into his eyes. “And you know I missed you too, right?” My thumb caressed his cheekbone as I held his face.

“Yeah,” He chuckled, his nose brushing mine “...I’m aware.” he continued, “But do you know one of the things I miss the most?” Hawks raised a thick brow, his smirk never faltering. I smile back as the nose brushing swiftly transitions to our foreheads resting against each other. “What?”

He tilted his head. “When you called me ‘Keigo’.”

My eyes opened from their closed state, drawing back from the embrace as I stared back at him. His chest rumbled as a series of chuckles left him. “Seriously, dove, either you don’t give to shits about my real name or you have a very bad memory.”

 I scoffed as I lightly shoved him, “Well, I swear it’s not the first reason.” I snickered, playfully rolling my eyes, “And it’s not my fault to call you by what everyone else does.” I bit back, “You only just told me your real name a month ago.” I slowly made my way over to my bed, sitting on a leg and the other lazily swung over the edge.

Hawks huffed out of amusement, evoking back on the time he shared his real name to her. Hawks sood shredded his jacket, and immediately I can feel my cheeks burning with an up rising lust. It was almost impossible how amazing -No, that’s an understatement- Incredibly amazing the way his abs looked in the moonlight. And that still was an understatement in my books! The moonlight was complimenting him in the best possible way. It enhanced them, making them look more lickable than any lighting could.

Hawks -who, of course, seen her reaction and what her eyes were focused on- languidly tossed his hero jacket on the back of her desk chair. “My eyes are up here, baby girl.” 

“I know where my eyes are.” I sharply stated.

 Leaning back on my hands as I glance into his golden eyes. “I’m just… taking in some things.” I smile, tilting my head as it rests on my shoulder. “Yeah, you're really soaking it all in, huh?”  He chuckled, making his way over to you on the bed. “Of course, how else do you expect me to react to my handsome boyfriend’s major bod?” I giggled as I said it in a funny tone.

Hawks laughed along, settling down beside me on the mattress. “This seat taken?” he quired as he got comfortable beside me.

I scouted closer, him wrapping his arm around my shoulders. “You know any seats open for you, birdy.” Smiling as I laid my head on his shoulder, soon after Hawks did the same as his was resting on top of mine. We stayed like that for a good minute as we just appreciate each other’s company.

Hawks’s voice soon broke the comfortable silence. “Are you ever gonna actually remember my name?” He asked, feeling the light weight of his head disappear as he turned to me.

My brows furrowed, “ I already call you ‘Hawks’, dummy.” I tilted my head to the side almost innocently.

Hawk blinked.

A smirk creeping up on his face. Tilting his head in an exaggerated mocking way, he pressed further. 

“I mean my real name-”

 “Keigo?”

I made an ‘O’ shape with my lips as I soon understood, the realization coming to me. “Oh! Oh, well. Yeah obviously, I just need to get used to it.” I encouraged, gently elbowing him in his bicep.

Hawks on, the other hand, grinned lopsidedly. Leaning in closer as his gaze stayed on me. His calloused yet soft hands came to intertwine with mine. The warmth of his breath against my ear was deliciously tantalizing.

His lips brushed your lobe as he murmured:

 “Maybe I should engrave it in that pretty little mind of yours…”

 A teasing nibble at your ear.

 “So you’ll never forget it."

An Ode to Black Fanfic Writers

To the Black fanfic writers,

When I first joined Tumblr, I was lost. I didn’t know what to expect, didn’t know if this was a space I could call home. Everything felt overwhelming posts flying by, tags I didn’t understand, communities I didn’t know how to approach. I didn’t even know if I’d like it here. But then I stumbled across your stories, and everything changed.

You saved me.

Through your words, I found my footing in a space that, at first, didn’t feel like it had room for me. You gave me stories that wrapped around me like a warm hug, characters that looked like me, sounded like me, loved like me. You showed me what this app could be what it could mean. You reminded me that our stories are powerful, that we are powerful.

Thank you for being the guiding light I didn’t know I needed.

In a world where Black characters are so often sidelined, erased, or stereotyped, you did something revolutionary: you made us the center. You wrote us as heroes, as lovers, as dreamers. You gave us magic, power, and complexity. You reminded us that we can be everything.

When I read your work, I saw Black girls with wide smiles and wild curls, unafraid to take up space. I saw Black boys navigating their pain and triumphing over it. I saw queer Black love, soft Black love, fierce Black love. And I saw us thriving, not just surviving.

You gave me stories that said, “You belong here.” And that meant everything.

Your stories didn’t just give me representation; they gave me community. Through your words, I connected with people who understood what it means to feel invisible in spaces where you should be seen. People who share my love for these characters and who understand the joy of seeing ourselves in these worlds.

You showed me that fandom isn’t just about the media we consume it’s about the people we meet along the way. The way you build each other up, support one another, and create a space where Black voices shine is nothing short of extraordinary.

I didn’t just find stories on Tumblr. I found a family.

I know it’s not easy. Writing is hard. Posting your work for the world to see is even harder. Yet you do it anyway. You push through the doubt, the fear, the imposter syndrome, and you create. You write stories that make us laugh, cry, and feel seen.

I think about the late nights you spend revising, the time you dedicate to perfecting every scene, every line of dialogue. I think about how you manage to weave pieces of our culture our humor, our slang, our struggles into your stories so effortlessly. It’s art, and it’s real.

Your stories remind us that creativity is resistance. That writing Black characters who are loved, desired, and heroic is an act of defiance in a world that tries to diminish us. You’re not just writing fanfiction, you're making a statement: “We matter. We belong. We are worthy.”

Why You Matter So Much

As a 21-year-old Black woman, I can’t tell you how much your work has inspired me. You’ve shown me the beauty of our diversity, the depth of our experiences, and the endless possibilities of our stories. You’ve reminded me that Blackness is infinite.

You’ve given me hope in ways I didn’t even know I needed. You’ve shown me that joy is revolutionary, that our stories deserve to be told. You’ve given me love stories that feel like home, characters that feel like family, and worlds that feel like freedom.

You’ve saved me on my darkest days.

Forever Grateful

To the Black fanfic writers who dared to take up space in a fandom culture that didn’t always want us here, thank you. Thank you for showing up, for creating, for building a world where we can see ourselves as everything we’ve ever dreamed of being.

You’ve reminded me and so many others that we are powerful, that we are beautiful, that we are worthy of being the main character. You’ve given me more than I could ever repay.

So here’s to you the storytellers, the dreamers, the visionaries.
