Befriending Kakashi as a child would be quite peculiar. He’s a prodigy for a reason, he won’t be whining like a child, playing silly games with others, he won’t fantasize. No— he’s the son of the white fang. An elite shinobi who is feared across all nations. He will shoulder his fathers legacy with pride. But Sakumo remains as a worried father, he knows he isn’t around much and Kakashi doesn’t have any company to hang out with. He’ll bring him to the park to get him familiarized with the other kids

That’s where you come in, quiet and composed yet holding that naive childish joy in your heart. It had drawn Kakashi in like a moth to a flame. He was quick to pique an interest in you, suggesting to play ninja like most children his age played. At the end of the day he couldn’t help but talk about you to his father, wishing to meet you again and hold you dear just as much as his father does to his comrades.

As his father goes off to finish missions the hokage had entrusted in him, Kakashi is alongside you playing childish games. The empty feeling in his chest when his father disappears for crucial missions gets filled by you. Kid Kakashi is someone who’s needy and desperate for attention, wanting to be the absolute best he could ever be and impress you. He’ll show off to you, showing his amazing skills his father taught him, preening about being a future Shinobi

He gets whiny when your both alone, pawing and preening at you. Wanting your full attention to be solely on him, he’s the son of a famous and honorable shinobi who wouldn’t want to be with him? It’s an honor isn’t it? He’s puffing out his chest in pride whenever you praise him, just a simple pat on his head or even a hug has him on the tip of his toes. Begging for another ounce of your affection, just a simple touch that’s all he asks.

One time you had the audacity to befriend others, someone that took your time and attention from him. It had sent him reeling off the rails, the anger and despair that overtook him had caused him to lash out at others. He was bitter, why would you search for others when you have him? The time came where you presented your friends to him. Kakashi was quick to shut them down, showing off his skills with a snobbish attitude. He would talk down about them with you, suggesting how they’re not a good influence, to not bother to make other friends when you already have him. Isn’t he enough for you? What more could you possibly want?

He snarled whenever one of them got closer to you, growling in distaste as their scent mixed with yours. As a young pup himself, Kakashi was taught how to communicate and respect other ninken. And as someone whose clan bonds with ninken some dog traits will tend to rub on him. Such as scenting, most mates tend to rub their scent on each other as a claim of ownership. That’s exactly what Kakashi does, even the faintest scent of anyone that isn’t him has him huffing and prowling for the intruder. He’s quick to cage you in his arms. Claiming he just needs a bit of your affection right now, and you his naive little mate wordlessly believing him without knowing the truth of his actions.

BEING COURTED

#SYNOPSIS— headcanon on being courted by Tsu’tey

#WARNING(S)— none

#CHARACTER(S)— Tsu’tey Rongloa Ateyitan

Tsu’tey would be confused by the different approaches on how humans attract a potential mate or in human terms to woo a potential suitor. He would start out by doing what he was taught to attract a mate in his own terms. He’ll start by doing small gestures first, offering you his own food from his plate during clan meals. Offering his first batch of prey he catches and dedicating them towards you. Prancing himself like a peacock, puffing out his chest and showing off his skills. These actions are to show how much of a reliable mate he can be.

The second stage of courting would depend on your attitude towards the first courting stage. Seeing how you praise him for his catch and compliment him he’ll start taking bigger steps. He’ll present you with his own hair beads offering them to you, even going as far to hunt exotic animals and offer their feathers to you. If he sees you thanking him for his gifts and even offering your own hair beads/feathers he’ll be more than delighted to wear them and prance them around with his clanmates.

The last stage of courting is intimate. It’s not something that can be officially spoken about in front of others seeing as it’s a sign of vulnerability and trust. (The queue is a vulnerable part of the Na’vi body. It can enable mental communication, emotions/feelings etc.)Tsu’tey would probably take you to the tree of souls and offer to do your hair/brush it/to braid it/decorate it with his own trinkets and gifts to you. To let someone else take care of such a vulnerable part of the body is a sign of trust and acceptance(in human standards it’s implications of bearing their own naked body to their partner and trusting them not let any harm fall upon them) Tsu’tey would be ecstatic in your acceptance and overwhelmed in your faith in him. He’ll take this moment very seriously and make sure no mistakes happen in this precious bonding moment.

However this all depends on your knowledge of being courted by a Na’vi. If you were to be a rather oblivious to his implying attraction towards you he would begrudgingly go to Jake Sully for help. Tsu’tey would try to court you in human standards. He finds himself confused by human mating customs. But he can find the beauty in it, such as giving flowers. He can decorate your hair with flowers weaved into your braid. Plans ‘ dates ‘ as humans calls it. Takes you to pretty scenery’s or takes you hunting with him. Going flying with him on his ikran anything that seems like a bonding moment with you.

The last step would probably be offering you a ring wedged with pretty rocks surrounding it, a makeshift ring. He would offer it to you, bend down on one knee and gazing up at you. By that time I’m sure you would of caught the drift of his attraction towards you.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

You were one of the few people chosen to be part of the avatar program. Wether you were a scientist or a soldier matters greatly. If you were a scientist you wouldn’t have much contact with the na’vi not without Jake putting in a good word for you. You would be watched over by Tsu’tey and become ‘ one of the people ‘ In the beginning he is cruel and refuses to teach you anything. He does not trust you and believes you are here to only bring havoc. But seeing how dedicated you are to his home he gives you a chance.

He is harsh and often calls you ‘ demon‘ with upturned lips and tail lashing. But you do not mind, in return you call him with an endearing nickname. At first he is not bothered but curiosity nitpicks at him. At one point he ask what it means but you refuse to answer. He scoffs at your refusal, nose scrunching up, he blabbers about ‘ sky people nonsense ‘

This banter between you continues, and so does his familiarity with you. He often chaste you for being distracted in the forest. Calls you a ‘ baby ‘ for making too much noise— not that he minds. He finds it endearing when you talk his ear off about ‘ nature and its electrical connection ‘ all he has to offer is ‘ it is eywa ‘

As time goes on he subconsciously seeks you out most of the time. Doing things only a male would do if he were interested in a female. He shows off his hunting skills and his strength, boast about how he’s a great gather too. He does not realize his affection for you unless someone points it out. He is denial and refuses to acknowledge his feelings for you. He battles with himself, claiming that being with a dreamwalker is wrong.

However, seeing Jake with his ex betrothed the idea somehow becomes tempting to him. He is difficult during this time, unsure as how to take his fist step in this new relationship he wants to form. He seeks wisdom from the tree of souls or Mo’at. Once he accepts his feelings for you, he’ll properly start courting you. He won’t shy away from his ministrations and would be bold in his actions.
