While I love X-Men as a concept for a superhero group (probably my favorites on that sense) my only experience with them are the live action movies and some of the animated series. So I don't know that specific character you mention there, but there's other similar characters to Shigaraki with similar decay powers that are much better writen than him, for example Polka-Dot Man (from the James Gunn S.S movie at least).

And one of the funniest part abot Bakugou fans is how obviously they're mostly new anime fans and Bakugou is super dope for them only because they don't know anything better. I guess his mentality also applies to fight dangerous villains, and the lov had some big names attached them. Their reputation probably was enough for Cider to not have his gang involved with such group of psychos.

Decay is just a broken and boring quirk that requieres nothing to be effective. Crusty asshole somehow manages to be more plain than he already was at first, is like he evolves in reverse.

Oh yes don't get me wrong, I don't think in canon any part about Yoichi and AFO relationship has any positive side, is totally horrible and toxic but still love the dynamic as a villain motivation. And is funny how the feelings are not one sided as many of AFO detractors think, because Yoichi until his 2nd death as vestige acts like he always wanted AFO to came back to him and be saved somehow.

Its just....if Mirko has to be shipped with a villain, dabi could work. Now it doesn't mean it will be a sweet romance...it think it would be dark. A one night stand type of deal where dabi thinks Mirko is as villainous as he is (she likes to beat up villains, she goes for the kill)

The Overhaul arc as a storyline feels pretty consistent overall outside of thay specific part.

Besides you have to put this in the context of how it was published in the manga. Because by that point the Overhaul arc was at the time the longest arc of the series and go on for over a year which was a huge difference compared to everything else the manga had previously.

Besides is a known fact that Horikoshi wasn't emotionally okay during that time, and writing the arc with a very dark tone was not doing very good to his mental health as he said on interviews.

With that in mind it's totally possible that Horikoshi just wanted to be done with an arc that was going on forever and pass to something lighter in tone (main reason of why the school festival is almost cartoonish in comparison). That was at the cost of not expand on Chisaki as a character sadly.

Does anyone else think Overhaul's ark was rushed and kinda half-finished? Why does every character have a fully explained back story that makes you love them no matter what, but we still don't know anything about Overhaul? Where did he come from? who are his parents? why does Pops' daughter not want anything to do with him? Is it just me? I feel like Pops neglected Kai as a kid. He's obviously mentally ill, and he had no care for that. where did he get his quirk theory from? When he said it, it sounded drilled into his head like he had heard it somewhere else. how is he connected to any of the AFO ark? he seems to be the adult version of Eri if she was never saved right? why did Pops find him wandering the streets? WHY?

I don't dislike scarless Dabi, but I feel his scars are part of the charm. Without it he would look more generic.

Kinda like Shoto scar, it is just too iconic to take it away.

Is fun how I like to make up reasons for my fav characters to be barefoot, as is something meaningful and not just an aesthetic choice (when Its possible at least).

For example I imagine Shindo loves to be barefoot when he trains because a passive effect of his vibration quirk is being able to feel the vibrations in the ground, like the earthbenders from Avatar. He can feel it anyway with shoes on, but being barefoot enhance the effect and makes him feel more connected to earth while feeling it's texture on his feet.

Nine also loves being barefoot because it is associated with a sense of terrenal freedom, which makes him happy and in peace especially during rains.

Mizunami also would just love put his feet on water, that's relaxing.

A lair for the Cider House gang? I bet it would be something like an abandoned warehouse, but rather than the cliche spooky lair of most villains, Mizu and his gang would just fill the place with neon lights, confy fornitures, arcade machines, all kind of TVs, game consoles, and other stuff they steal.
