hc that jang hayoung is trans because han sooyoung originally wrote her as a guy, but since od wanted jhy to be a girl in the first place, he imagined her has a girl in his day dreams as well. he basically headcannoned jang hayoung into being trans... (important distinction is that he did not headcannon her as trans, but jhy developed feelings of not being a boy herself due to kdj's influence on the universe 😭 i do not think kim dokja would have a clue of trans people or the lgbt community pre scenarios)

a story in two parts

title: My coworker (28M) showed me (26F) his web novel obsession at work

Okay Reddit, I need to vent about the most awkward interaction I've had at my new office job.

So there I am, minding my own business, when this guy I barely know starts talking to me out of the blue. He's one of those quiet types who always looks a bit disheveled and never makes eye contact. Suddenly he blurts out, "So do you read web novels?"

I'm not really into those kind of novels, so I just say, "Ah… nah, not really." Big mistake.

His eyes light up like I just asked him to explain the entire lore of Lord of the Rings. "I read this really good story," he announces, way too excited. "Do you want to see?"

Not wanting to be rude, I reluctantly agree. He whips out his phone so fast I'm surprised it didn't catch fire from the friction. He pulls up some video of a notebook packed with all these names and numbers. There's dozens of pages dedicated to someone named 'Yoo Joonghyuk'.

"This is my magnum opus," he says, grinning like he just won the Nobel Prize. "It's a comprehensive comparison of the first 999 regressions'."

I'm watching in horror as he flips past a section detailing what he'd do if an apocalypse started. Is this what passes for a hobby these days?

When it's finally over, I manage a weak "Oh… cool." The awkward silence that follows is so thick you could cut it with a knife. He mumbles something about seeing me next week and practically sprints out of the office.

I'm praying to the Reddit gods that he forgets this interaction by Monday. How do I politely prevent this topic from coming up again?

TL;DR: Coworker showed me his bizarre web novel, I died inside.

replies by limerite: I do like reading, actually! I haven't read any web novels, though, and his intensity quite surprised me since he's generally pretty closed-off. I don't know much about him, but he does seem like an interesting person... perhaps I could try reading a web novel myself and start up a conversation :)

I couldn't quite catch the name of the novel he read because he was talking so fast, but I'm sure I can find it just by searching up some keywords...

Oh, I found it! Apparently I misheard the name, the main character's name is Joonhyun, not Joonghyuk. I'll read it over the weekend and get back to him on Monday :)
