not to put a finer point on it, but before i was fired from my job one of the many ways my managers were bullying me was by accusing me of antisemitism EVERY TIME i pitched an article related to Palestine (the last one i pitched before being fired was about bella hadid being fired from jobs for speaking up about Palestine. ironic). the worst of this was when i was crying in a "disciplinary" meeting about how i felt like shit while watching a genocide and their company lawyer accused me of being "manipulative" and "trojan horsing antisemitism" into the workplace. i cannot stress ENOUGH that i was purely talking about my own emotions about being Lebanese and watching Palestinians and Lebanese people be murdered and i was accused of being antisemitic. if you accuse me of being antisemitic at this point in the genocide i am gonna tell you to go fuck yourself i've had enough of the real oppression jewish people face being mentioned only as a weapon to silence me and others (including jewish ppl themselves) when we express basic sympathy to Palestinians and/or trying to advocate for Palestinian liberation. youse don't care. you are not serious people to me.

tumblr just deleted a huge swathe of palestinians who were on here trying to fundraise. if you've been helping any of these fundraisers please take this time to 1) check in with palestinians you're in contact with 2) help them submit support requests if needed 3) keep these campaigns circulating while the beneficiaries are being silenced. these campaigns are life or death, this isn't just social networking. do not let these fundraisers languish.
Hi! I was on Instagram recently and stumbled upon Nisreen Shehada's account. Before October 7, Nisreen posted very aesthetic, well crafted baking TikToks/videos (which looked delicious!) Since October 7, she has been sharing her daily life in Gaza.
This is the first reel of hers I saw. It's so important that she is not only documenting her daily life right now (for public record, for memory, for history) but that she is doing it in a format that is so familiar to anyone online right now.
I think that even well intentioned people can sometimes unintentionally dehumanize groups fighting for justice amidst tragedy. It is vital that we view Palestinians not just as victims or impoverished or assume life has always been this non-stop nightmare. Literally, Nisreen is like so many people I know. Like so many people you know! Just a regular lady who loves baking! Just your friendly neighborhood dentist! Aperson who loves their families. A devoted cat mom. A very stylish dresser.
I love that her page shows how people are living day-to-day now. And I love that it shows her finding moments of joy even in the darkest of times. ❤️
Please give her account a follow.
Edit to add: I've made a separate account for archiving videos and posts from regular people in Palestine documenting daily life. You can follow it @watermelllonarchive

Hello, my name is Jaber Mohammad Al-Dahdouh. I’m 13 years old, and I’m sharing my story of how war has taken everything from my family and me 💔😔.
I grew up in northern Gaza, where we lived a life of comfort and love 💖🏠, all thanks to my mother, Maysaa ❤️, who has a heart condition 💔, and my father, who worked hard to provide a bright future for us 🌟👨👩👧👦. My siblings—Shabaan, Hanan, Ahmed, and my youngest sister Ameera, our little darling 👧💖—were my closest friends, and we shared dreams 🌈, laughter 😂, and plans for a life full of hope 🌅✨.
I was a student 📚 at the Rosary Sisters School, part of the Union of Churches. My school meant so much to me; it was more than a building 🏫. It was my second home 🏡, a place where I felt safe and happy 😊💛, surrounded by friends and childhood laughter 👦👧💫.
But in a single moment, our lives were turned upside down 💔😢. The war destroyed our home 🏠💥 and my beloved school 🏫💔, and we were forced to flee south under heavy bombing 💣💥💨. We took refuge in the Nuseirat area, hoping to find safety 🤲. Yet even there, we were not spared; fighter jets bombed ✈️💥 the very place where we had sought shelter. I witnessed family members being taken from us in that attack 🕊️😭.
I share my story today as a child who has lost almost everything: my home 🏠💔, my school 🏫🌪️, family members 👨👩👧👦🕊️, and even my dreams 🌠. I am reaching out not only to share the pain 💔 but to search for a glimmer of hope 🌄 to help rebuild our lives.
I humbly ask for your support 🤲💖 to help me and my family through this tragedy 🕊️. My mother, Maysaa, is unwell with a heart condition 💔, and my remaining siblings and I need your support to rebuild from the devastation 🌈🌟. Your donations could be the only chance to restore a part of our hope 🕯️💖 and enable me to build a new future from the rubble 🏡✨.
Thank you for your kindness and support ❤️🙏🌷.
