I think it be funny if task force x and Lex are the ones who either discover/make the difference kryptonites and almost all of them have the wrong effect then they intended making things crazy for clark
One of the things i liked in MAWS, was how much Kryptonite seem dangerous for Kryptonians, in other series and movies it would just make them feel to the ground like they are out of energy or feel weak, but this version make it look like they are really in pain, and i really liked the green veins and bits of it growing on their body. Makes me wonder how would other types of Kryptonite affect them visually, like red, gold, blue or even pink Kryptonite.
I would LOVE to see other colors of Kryptonite in MAWS. It's hard to keep track of which colors have what effects on the character. It seems to change from iteration to iteration The ones I remember are red alters your personality. Silver makes you drunk/stoned. Was it blue or gold that removes powers? Also pink can make you horny, or gay, or make you fall in love, or change your sex? I'm not sure.
Here's some ideas:
1.) One where Clark finds a type of Kryptonite that temporarily takes his powers away and at first he loves it. It's a little embarrassing trying to hide the blue crystals coming out of his skin. (Maybe they pop up close to his eye and he wear sunglasses to cover them. or long sleeves over crystal veins on his arms) But for the first time, he really is a normal man and it's all on his terms because he took the kryptonite knowing how long the effects would last. But of course there's an emergency and he needs his powers ASAP to save the day but it's still a while before they can come back.
2.) Clark gets high off of some kryptonite and Lois and Jimmy have to stay by him so he doesn't wander off.
3.) Jimmy finds some of that "Makes you fall in love/makes you horny" Kryptonite and can't help his curiosity but to try it with Kara with overwhelming results. (Or Lois does that with Clark.)
4.) Something scary. The gang finds themselves in a post apocalyptic alternate dimension that was ravaged by a destruction thirsty Superman who had his personality altered into that of a monster because of some red kryptonite he got infected with. He is pretty much a horror movie monster in this one, with red crystal veins all over his body, and they need to find a way back to their home dimension with our Clark now developing a HUGE phobia of getting infected with personality altering Kryptonite.
5.) Combine them. They're playing around with various different Kryptonites. Jimmy is trapped in his apartment with a Kara who just wants to cuddle. Clark on a Kryptonite high wanders off into an alternate dimension where he's a horrible monster and once he sobers up, he's infected with Blue Kryptonite so he's on the run from his evil AU self with no powers.
This is how we start the canny X-men
i have a friend whomst I will not name in case they don’t want to be asked about this but they have a Very Specific and Terrible power which is, if you take the online BDSM quiz and then just simply mention you have, they can look at you for under ten seconds and just state your top result.
I can’t tell you anything more soul-shattering, any death more instant and devastating, any moment more harrowing to witness than someone saying “yeah i took the BDSM quiz once” only for my friend to no more than glance at them and then announce “brat” and the look in the person’s eyes is that of one who just tipped too far back in their chair

Probably not the best place to put it, but today for some reason I feel like complaining about it, so I guess it’s coming onto Tumblr now… so here is the story of how I got kicked out of the Colosseum in Rome when I was nine years old.
Somethings the say, about 5 1/2 years ago my family decided to go on a trip to the area of Italy, Rome, France and a couple other places in that area that I can’t remember. But they’re not important. What’s important is that I was (and still am) a energetic, jumpy and nerdy kid. The flight was an overnight flight from California to Rome. And my small dumbass couldn’t go to sleep because 1. I didn’t want to and 2. (and this is no fault of his) The man sitting next to me, was watching Star Wars. In Italy it is daytime when it’s night time and my sleep schedule is already complete and utter crap.
So with that all nighter my family decides all together with my agreement that we should go explore Rome. After spending most of the day sightseeing, he finally arrived at the Colosseum. Because of the very little amount of energy already had and all the walking, I got really sleepy. So while my parents can go and keep exploring the Colosseum and my Tia and my siblings decide to stay with me until I wake up.
Cue to me, and the small group of my family, being forced out of the Colosseum for some reason and we don’t speak Italian (which they were speaking to us for some reason, even though we question them in English), so we don’t know where this one guy working there was shoving us out. The one thing we do now is that I needed to use the bathroom. And not in the usual little sense of it probably be good to go soon, no, this was if I didn’t go in the next couple minutes, I would crap my pants. We try to tell him this, so that if they do show us our at least we’ll just have to wait for our parents to figure things out, but no!
He fucking kicks us out and forces me and my brother to wander around through bars, stores and other places to try to see if they speak English to tell us directions and/or have a bathroom!!!
After waiting outside for maybe about two hours our parents finally came back out. We go to confront the guy that kicked us out for why he kicked it out. In the entire conversation we had with him, he only lied!!
He didn’t want to directly speak to us, so we had to have one of the workers translate what he was saying. And then he said that us, the two kids, who were too distracted on the phone to do anything being my siblings, one who was asleep (me) and another, my Tia who is a full grown adult that looks and is someone who could never tell a lie or do something bad, had tried to steal something from someone purse!!
I didn’t completely blame him in the moment until later, when two things became apparent to me
1. Where I were sleeping and my family was waiting with me was in NO area near anyone.
And 2. The Colosseum has the special types of tours that aren’t part of the normal tours, and apparently from what my parents told me the place that we were sitting was in the way what is a Tours in someway.
I know I may just still be mad about it after a long time, but I don’t think that security card thought that we were causing any problems. He was a paid off or told to move us for no reason other than that we were in the way of making more money!!
And I think the worst crime with that not just did he kick us out for no reason, but he kicked us out and left us to wonder for about half an hour trying to find a bathroom whole nine-year-old felt like he was gonna burst. So if the guy made a mistake I’m sorry that I’m mad, but if he didn’t, I’m sorry that I hate him.
I only really felt like putting it here can understand my freaking irritation with the Colosseum now.
This, this is the Batman that we don’t get to see as much anymore. The hero that can show that someone broke doesn’t have to break others to fix themselves. Someone who doesn’t stop criminals by beating them into submission but by helping them so they can heal. He is the hero that can show that bad people could just be hurt and just need help. I’ve seen people say that marvel is better because they deal with real problems while dc is more fantastical, but the thing I always see when looking at both is that marvel is how people are, struggling to be kind always trying, even when they fight on ideals they are kind. But dc is what we wish things were, an ideal world where there are hundreds of people all trying to see people and make things better and showing that everyone can change for the better. We lost both of those things but thankfully they are starting to come back , a little slow for Batman but I can see it, and I can’t wait for the old hero’s to be good again.
I am. So fucking tired of Batman being portrayed as a bad parent and a toxic person. And it’s so goddamn widespread. Fuck, it might be as bad as the whole “Superman being a kindhearted Boy Scout is boring” take.
I get it, the man’s not exactly stable, he watched his parents get murdered in front of him and spent years of his life training to fight crime dressed like a giant scary bat, of course he’s not perfect.
But to say that Bruce Wayne isn’t caring, isn’t empathetic, to call him abusive…it just misses the point of who the character is to me.
Why do you think he fights crime? Yes, part of it is because he’s bitter and sad because his parents were cruelly ripped from him as a child, and he’s lashing out against the corruption of his city. It’s arguably the focus of his earlier years. But he learns to become more than that. He learns to bring hope, a chance to be better.
Harleen Quinzel is the Joker’s right hand lady, but she’s also a victim of an abusive relationship and a woman with a surprisingly strong moral compass and a love for animals, and wants to get better. That’s why we see time and time again that he has a noticeable soft spot for her, because he knows that she’s a good person at her core.
Harvey Dent is a man who will decide someone’s fate on a coin toss(and a pretty inaccurate depiction of DID), but he’s also Bruce’s close friend who clearly needs help learning to live with his condition, rather than try to get rid of it, and someone who he still goes out of his way to visit, even after everything, because he recognizes he’s not just a criminal with a weird gimmick, he’s a man who is struggling with a condition that he’s mishandled his whole life.
Victor Fries is a cold, emotionless man who will callously discard allies and blame them for being careless, but he’s also a man who’s either lashing out because he had the love of his life taken from him, or just desperate to make sure she isn’t taken from him, and is willing to do anything just to guarantee her survival. Of course Batman would understand, his whole life was defined by having people he loved taken away from him.
Even the Joker, arguably one of the most morally bankrupt characters in all of fiction, is someone that Batman has offered a chance to. After the guy shoots the daughter of his friend, a girl he cared for like she was his own kid, and paralyzes her from the waist down, he tells the Joker that he doesn’t want to hurt him. He wants to get him help. He looks at this monster who has taken countless lives and says “You don’t have to be alone.”
For fuck’s sake, he sat with Joe Chill in his last moments so that he wouldn’t be alone. Joe Chill, the man who murdered his parents, who took so much from him, the person responsible for all of the misery and suffering he’s gone through. And he sits with the man to comfort him while dies. Do you know how much emotional intelligence and maturity that must take? To comfort someone who arguably ruined your life?
And you’re gonna tell me the man who did that would abuse his kids?
That he’d hold up the young man whose death was his greatest failure, the boy he grieved, and say this?
That he’d look his goddamn son in the eyes and say this to him?
Why the FUCK do you think he took in Dick Grayson in the first place? It wasn’t because he saw the kid and thought “Ah. A potential soldier.”, it was because he saw a boy experiencing the same heartbreaking loss he had so many years ago, and wanted to make sure he didn’t end up as bitter and miserable as he was.
Why do you think he smiled when Tim Drake presented him a broken watch for Father’s Day? Because he was just happy to see the boy alive and safe.
DAMIAN LITERALLY POINTED AT A COW AND SAID “I’m keeping her. She’s Bat-Cow.” AND BRUCE JUST WENT WITH IT. DIDN’T EVEN NEED TO ARGUE WHY BRUCE SHOULD LET HIM KEEP HER. HE SAID “this cow is my pet now” AND BRUCE SAID “aight, bet”.
The thing about Batman is that he wants to make sure nobody else ends up feeling the way he does. That’s not just about stopping a mugger so a boy’s parents aren’t gunned down. It’s about giving his loved ones the support and care that he couldn’t have, because it was taken from him. It’s about comforting someone who just went through a traumatic experience and letting them know that they’re going to be okay. It’s about going to someone locked away in a cell who thinks that they’re a lost cause and a burden to society and telling them that he wants to help them get better. It’s about EMPATHY and COMPASSION.
That’s what makes him a HERO. He’s meant to inspire us, to show us that we can have that same empathy for others around us, that we can turn our suffering into hope for a better future.
I just wish more people at DC would start recognizing that. But I might as well follow that example myself. Maybe through this struggle of having to see this hero mistreat the people around him and act like a grade-A jackass, people will start to recognize that missing compassion, and slowly but surely, it might come back. After all, what is this post, if not trying to bring attention to the matter in the hopes of fixing it?
This is really interesting to think about.
I really like what this physicist, Lamar Glover, has to say in Behind the Curve.
